Contemporary Multicultural

Raelynn’s new neighbor doesn't understand Southern snow. When he tries backing out of his driveway and ends up with his rear bumper in Rae's gardenia bushes, what else can she do but invite him to dinner? And when his nearness makes her head buzz, and his unexpected kisses make fireworks go off behind her eyes, what else can she do but kiss him back? The attraction is mutual and hot, but there's nothing simple about the situation. Rae’s been avoiding relationships since her husband of ten years left her for another man, and Alec is still getting past losing his wife in a car accident.

Even if Alec is ready to move on and Rae can get over the self-doubts that plague her, they're neighbors. An affair could make neighborhood block parties incredibly awkward. Still, they can't resist and the result is the most incredible sex of Rae's life. She’s never had anyone read her an erotic short story and she’s sure never tried some of the positions in Alec’s little book. But will the fire behind this red-hot, snow-blind, cabin fever fling burn out when the snow melts or will they make it all the way through Alec's little book?

Publisher's This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find anal play/intercourse.

The Romance Review

Make a cup of hot chocolate and curl up to read this sweet romance. In PAGE 93, Raelynn is a southern belle who's been knocked on her ass. Her ex-husband didn't leave her for another woman. He left her for another man. For a boyish-figured Raelynn, this is a serious blow to her feminine ego.

When a single dad moves in next door, sparks fly between the neighbors when they are trapped in a freak Georgia snowstorm together. Alec finally meets the sexy single mom next door when he crashes into her yard. Every neighbor has already stopped by to say hello but Raelynn. Raelynn's frozen sex life finally thaws out when Alec decides to take her up on her southern hospitality.

This story is a short sugary sweet romance. It's a feel good one with some lovely sexual scenes. Nothing is that graphic but it is lovely to image. The pivotal item this book is built around is the fabled sex book Sexual Positions for Greater Orgasms.

Where is this book? This book does NOT exist. If it did, I would like to look up several of these pages which Alex tried out on Raelynn. The sexual positions detailed in the book sound spectacular. It is also kind of amusing, sort of like going to a favourite restaurant and calling the dishes by their number instead of their name. It is also a cute code parents can use to keep their kids in the dark. "Honey, I'd like a little 93 then 74 and if we could fit in a bit of 109, that would be great!" His answer could be, "As long as I receive some 36, I'm ready." For some people, they may think it's some kind of football reference. In fact, now that I think about it, what are those numbers the quarterback calls out? Things to think about, for sure.

This contemporary romance is recommended for romance lovers who enjoy a sweet smexy happily ever after.

Well I'll just swaney! This was the best darn book y'all. Seriously - this one is a real winner. Why? It has the funniest characters who are real and willing to take a chance. The dialogue is some of the best I've read in erotic romance. It is truly funny but not fake -- it rings true. You think you're getting one thing (a sweet southern romance) and you really get something else (a VERY hot erotic romance between two people who are all proper in public but down and dirty in the bedroom!).

To start I want my own Alec. Dammit. Is it wrong the whole time I was thinking Chow Yun Fat? That man is on my top 5 list - he's positively yummy! And yay for the author here - no stereotypes and race is not the focus. It is two people who are mutually drawn together who give in to the red hot passion that ignites them. Raelynn's the consummate southern lady down on her luck a bit in the man department on account of her ex is gay. Her confidence is sorely lacking - but Alec changes all that. He sees her for the beauty that she is and man that is both sweet and hot.

I could happily have read another 100 or 200 or more pages of this couple. One might say (since I rarely read just solid M/F erotic romance anymore - I mostly engage with heavier, edgier non consent or BDSM themed when it comes down to the boy/girl thing) that I had to go round my elbow to get to my thumb on this one. That won't happen again! Give this one a try - I think you'll love it!

This was sexy and short. It was also funny and sweet. I loved the heroine's voice, and I'm usually not a fan of the first person POV in my books. But, Rae was very refreshing: snarky, funny, insecure, and daring all wrapped into one. I also loved Alec. And I have to say, I'll never look at one of those mail-away 90 day prescription bottles ever again the same way! LOL

This was a fun story. We have Rae, born and bred in the South. The story is told from her first-person POV. She's been divorced from her husband. They have a child together, but her ex realized he was gay, so they divorced. As a result, Rae has had trouble re-entering the dating world. Her best friend has been pushing her for a long time, but Rae felt (and I can understand this) that since she wasn't curvy or voluptuous, it must have been her "boyishness" that allowed her husband to stand to be with her. She has a bit of an esteem issue in that respect, but in every other respect, she's a self-confident Southern woman.

And we have her new neighbor, Alec, who is third-generation Japanese American, recently transplanted from Indiana. He lives with his young son, but his wife died in an accident. Alec was very much in love with his wife, so he was a bit surprised when he first saw and felt familiar stirrings for Rae.

The story takes place during a rare Georgia snowstorm. Rae's daughter is visiting her ex, and because of the snow (Georgia shuts down for snow), that's where her daughter will stay until things clear up. Likewise, Alec's son is with Alec's parents. And when Alec attempts to drive his car to the store during the snowstorm, he ends up in Rae's gardenia bushes. Which is a perfect opening for dinner. And then an impromptu makeout session. And when they both realize how steamy it's getting, Alec hops up, says he's sorry, and leaves. Leaving Rae very confused. But Alec redeems himself. Boy does he redeem himself.

Besides their story of explosive chemistry and even more explosive sex, there were lots of great things about this story. I loved that the author used y'all (and used it, IMO, spelled properly, lol), and there were lots of fun Southern type things included throughout the book. And it was funny to hear about the neighborhood gossip. Here's just one little excerpt that made me smile:

It was the moment every little girl dreams of from the first time she sees Gone With the Wind. Except my Clark Gable was Japanese. And a Yankee. And we were in the suburbs, where it was snowing. Oh, and we were naked. Long live the new South.

Indeed!

I really enjoyed this snowy romance. I am a sucker for smart southern gals and Rae is a charming woman. I enjoyed that this was a plausible story. Two neighbors, one divorced one widowed, get to know each other over a weekend after watching each other for a few months. Their attraction was sweet and hot. While there is an inter-racial element, it wasn't overplayed for dramatic effect, it merely enhances physical descriptions (not so much forbidden love -- as hey, you're cute). I liked the snoopy neighbors, sassy best friend, gay ex-husband. It all worked and I am interested in finding the book they were using as their illustrative guide.

This book had me laughing out loud! It had some very funny lines. The story was sweet, not really any plot at all, just 2 adults having alot of sex but the sex was soo hot. Like I said, even though it didn't have a real plot to it, it was very funny and sweet book. Read it, you'll like it.

This one was funny, but got annoyingly self-consciously funny as it went on. The story had potential, the characters were likable. I just didn't finish it.
