That's my 2nd book of the same author. Recently i've read Freud in a week and i've enjoyed the reading. Though Jung in a week is even more impressive. That's a book provoking in myself lots and lots of insights. And i am happy about it.

I have found out only now, via this book that Jung was the one working on #mandala #iching #syncronicity in correlation with #psychotherapy
Focusing not on the past of the person in therapy, but on his/her life at the moment.

Another extremely interesting aspect is that Jung was developing a spiritual #psychology being inspired from #buddhism and #hinduism

Another detail to be mentioned and i've highly appreciated that was Jung as a travaller. And how traveling impacts our lives.

If you're new in Jung life and knowledge this is a book to start with. To break the Jungian ice 😁

Most of the book i've recorded on my podcast. Link in bio.

Bonne lecture, dear friends!

Ruth Snowden writes in a clear and easy to understand manner. She provides many relevant explanation of Jungian thoughts into daily task for easy to learn (Teach Yourself) manner.

Her book provides basic ideas but she also broadly explain in her writings in intelligent ways. The book itself is not enough to learn all of Jung's analytical psychology but it will give you a head start in seven days.

She is also involved with another Teach Yourself series, which provides more details and depth of the subject matter.

Both Freud and Jung had given us a gift to understand the unconscious. Jung went further to include the spiritual into the unconscious. He accepts the idea of the 'soul' in this regard. However the idea of a 'soul' and the unconscious (personal and collective unconscious) was the issue, the search for our 'inner wisdom' and how we manage to confront our shadow to become a complete Self (conscious and the unconscious) through the individuation process is, for Jung, the key to fully functioning in the world and improve our interpersonal relationships (using the eight psychological types) or even to cure 'disorder of the personality'.

Our psychic reality (or psyche) includes the libido. The effort in the individuation process would allow us to have a meaningful relationship with the opposite gender through the anima archetype in us.

Analytical psychology will give those who embrace spirituality a sense of purpose to realize the Self and be a positive influence to the world we live in.

Great, straightforward points that Jung developed and used. Relevant biographical accounts that paint a cohesive picture of who Jung was and the other personalities that influences his thought. Each chapter culminates in a test that has some "questionable questions" that are either poorly worded (unlike the rest of the book) or have too many possibilities for answers. Good, quick, and recommended read.

A well written, concise, and high readable primer about Carl Jung and his philosophies regarding therapy. Definitely gave me more insight on the foundation of terms we use everyday, and helped me re-think the process in which I self analyze myself.

Very informative and easily readable by all in my opinion. As long as you have time and are willing to learn.

Great simple pointers of the most recurring concepts in Dr. CG Jung's Analytical Psychology.
I finished some of his books and having a firm grasp of the basics clears some confusion.

Picked this book up to learn more about personas and archetypes but the book only makes a very brief passing mention of them. Finding myself having to go do more research. This book should be called a brief passing over of Jungian concepts in a day (the book is so short you could easily read it in a day).

Jung in a WEEK by Ruth Snowden is a great read for anyone who would like to explore Jung in a condense highlights version. I opt to read this book before diving in to Jung’s real books and theories. It worked out for me, so I may or may not read Jungs’ book which is entirely defined by my limited time.
