Anthony Jones is the author of The Sword of Goliath, the first installment of the epic Bloodline Chronicles saga, followed by The Wizard of Nod and Acts of The Shaddai, which completes the trilogy. His latest work, The Road to New Canaan, is a powerful standalone post-apocalyptic novel centered on survival, family, faith, and the enduring bond between a young girl and her giant wolf companion.

Born on September 8, 1963, Jones was raised in a family of small-town preachers and became deeply familiar with the stories and themes of the Bible from an early age. His love of storytelling began in childhood, listening alongside neighborhood children as his mother read classic tales during the traditional evening story hours that once filled many American homes. Among his earliest literary influences were the works of Laura Ingalls Wilder, The Hobbit, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and Hinds' Feet on High Places.

Jones cites Stephen King as one of his greatest literary influences, particularly The Dark Tower series and Wizard and Glass, both of which helped inspire the scope, tone, and mythic undertones of The Bloodline Chronicles.

As a high school journalist in Truckee, California, Jones wrote editorials focused on the outdoors, fishing, and small-town life. Though his professional career would later take a different path, he never abandoned his passion for writing, continuing to author short stories, poetry, songs, and novels throughout his life.

Jones studied Community Relations and Criminology at Lassen College before continuing his education in Leadership and Labor Relations at California State University, Sacramento.

After a distinguished 23-year career with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation — including 15 years at San Quentin State Prison — Jones retired in 2013 as an Associate Warden. His experiences in leadership, human conflict, justice, and survival continue to influence the realism and emotional depth found throughout his fiction.
