Forced into a marriage… …neither wanted. Passion is their only way out. Ravenna As a child, I dreamed of finding a husband and falling in love. Someone to give my heart to. Someone of my choosing. That will never happen.
Now, I approach the altar to marry a man I’d never met. Six foot four of muscle, he’s imposing standing there. Dangerous. Waiting to take me as his own. My legs tremble at the thought of what he might do to me on our wedding night. Will he be as dominant in the bedroom as he looks? Can I love this man? Will he love me? Wolfe I’m screwed. An arranged marriage to a mafia princess. This was not part of my plan. But this is something I can’t refuse. My hands drip blood and my heart is scarred. I know I can’t give this woman my love. I lost that emotion with the things I’ve done in the underworld. Love makes you weak and gets you killed. Why was I chosen? I don’t know. But I do know one thing. I’m dead meat if I mess this marriage up… Book 5 of 6 in the Married to the Wolfe series.
Ravenna and Wolfe attend another party that Ravenna’s mother is throwing. Lena, Wolfe’s ex-fiance, shows up and knows things about Wolfe’s business dealings that she shouldn’t. They were thrown together, never got along and basically hated each other which is why the engagement was called off. Wolfe is not happy that Lena wants to “talk business” with him.
Ravenna and Venetia are people watching from the upstairs balcony and Venetia points out Lena to Ravenna. Ravenna sees Lena heading for Wolfe and she is not happy. They head back downstairs and as they get near Wolfe, he is running toward Donte, Ravenna’s father. Ravenna sees the gun pointed at Donte so she starts running towards him as well. Wolfe is shot and Ravenna hits the shooter with a heavy chair.
Is Wolfe going to live? Is everyone else okay? Who was the shooter and why are they after Donte?
Ok, book 5 was exactly what i needed it to be. I really enjoyed all the action in this book.
I love seeing Ravenna and Wolfe settling into their relationship and realizing that though they are still getting to know each other, they have an undeniable connection and wicked hot chemistry. In this book, they prove to each other just what the other means to them, that their love is bigger and stronger than they believed. And that that love extends out to their family. When Wolfe's crazy ex comes around to wreak havoc, he protects his father-in-law, and puts himself in danger.
After a near death experience, Wolfe has hopes for the future that he expresses to Ravenna and she's right there with him. I love these 2 characters. I can't wait to see where their journey takes us in the last book.
This is the fifth book in the series. And must be read in order. Wolfe and Ravenna's world gets drama when an ex comes into the picture. Can't wait for the next book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
