On the surface, his life may seem ordinary and mundane, but obscured by a prosaic life is a person whose experiences defy all reason. Born and raised in a small Minnesota town, Dale lived a normal childhood, attending school, K-12, participating in sports, doing well in school, working after school and summers, and enjoying growing his car hobby. A mechanical engineering degree enabled Dale to be employed at a Fortune 500 company, where he progressed up the ladder to retire as a senior manager. During college, he met his future wife, Betty, who followed him along his career while pursuing her own teaching career and raising their three children. Throughout this timeframe, many events befell Dale that would make the cast of "Jackass" cringe.
