While trying to recover from his wounds, Ethan sets out to help Emma and King get the ranch ready to the best of their abilities. Digging more into the stockpiles of supplies, Emma bootstraps a system to help their shorthanded operation, and give them a technological advantage in a country mostly in the dark.
Vincent, a connected Dallas gangster, sends some men to recover his cash, finished drugs, raw materials, and the men who were supposed to be cooking the meth outside the little town of Rice, Texas. They were running late, extremely late. With the cartel breathing down his neck, he has to send an even larger group to complete the task.
Two escapees from Huntsville, one an officer and the other an inmate, make their way north to Lemuel’s old childhood home. Along the way, they rescue a young lady who has undergone a terrible ordeal. Unable to communicate the danger they are in, the young lady can only urge them to hurry.
Deciding to work cooperatively, the hippies and ranchers throw in to help out the entire small community of about thirty plus people. The Garcia’s have the most flat tillable land, the commune has the manpower, and the ranchers have the beef and experience to keep that going. They must all stand together or risk losing everything…
The action is unbelievable when all these forces come face-to-face… Grab your copy now!
Up until the very end of this book, it was bogged down and rather slow. There were editing errors (such as Ashley on several occasions being spelled as Ashely). I usually don't judge grammar etc on dialogue since people do talk differently than they write, but did none of these people get a sufficient education to use pronouns properly? The cutsy banter about Ethan's weakness and recovery after being shot in book 1 and the unfolding romance with Ashley went on and on, though with not much progress for most of it. Do people really giggle and joke that much in the apocalypse when their survival is on the line? It also took the various groups forever to figure out that the hippies had killed some feral hogs and there was going to be bacon. Forever! I'm terribly worried about Kay residing with this group that snickers their way through this disaster. Really on the fence about book 3.
Texas so far is WAY better than Alaska, and a bit better than California fall! Its even better than Korea fall too! Very good read! Looking forward to more from Texas! Not sure Alaska could get better without a better writer though. Loved Texas parts. Overall the entire series of "October" has been amazing! Except Alaska (should be called "Canadian highway n dumb trailer park!" haha
As action-packed as the first one, but also more sadness; no spoilers. Some new characters and a warring faction that gets the Garcia's and their community caught in the crossfire; is Ethan healed enough to risk getting shot again? Does Kay stay or does Erick find her before his buddies do? Enquiring minds want to know, and you can find out!
Book Review: “TEXAS FALL 2” (In “The October Fall World”) Kindle Edition by Boyd Craven III (Author), Boyd Craven Jr. (Author), LA Bayles (Author) So much lawlessness after the collapse! I appreciate how the authors share prepper tips with us as we follow the lives of the characters. Very enjoyable and entertaining!
I enjoyed this book and book 1. I hope there's more in this series. The characters are well developed and very relatable. The circumstances are perilous and well established. as a reader you can become engrossed in the story. The writing is well done. I plan on getting more books by this author.
Just saying being from Texas is great . Reading the books I can almost picture myself on the ranch as this is all happening . Great book , great read , fantastic story this is a must read ! Bring on number 3 .
The characters were good in book 1, in 2 they really shine. They form a family of different people and lifestyles. This is an example of how folks should live.
Love the Texas Fall series, can’t wait for the next one and hope it’s soon. The ending was wow! I don’t want give it away so I’ll just say realism can be both good and bad.
I did not expect that. This one takes you through the full wringer of feelings. That ending, even though it's a cliffhanger, got to me. I definitely recommend this bok and the entire series!
Great read as sequel to Texas Fall. I really enjoyed Ethan and Emma and their constant willingness to help other. All the other folks with such similar attitudes and everyone helping out Ms. Kay … good job!
As thing progress we meet new characters and the plot continues to grow. The hippies, Frank and the cowboys ,join in with Emma and Ethan group. A community for their protection and to combine their food.
Story continues from. Where book 1 left us. There are some unique and unexpected twists. But we've been waiting for over a year now for book 3. Please finish the story!
This one might leave you in tears or maybe just breathless! What a storyline! I loved the ranching and gardening parts, the young stallion was so much like a 2 year ago Arabian I was attacked by years ago. He too learned the lesson.
Great mix of characters, action and storyline. Keep.up the good work. It's good to read about good folks cooperating with other good folks to survive hard times.
This is a great series and everyone should read it. Lots of angles to it but easy to follow. Keep writing Boyd , Jr and Bayles. Hope to see more from this series soon.
Well written story but, there is some redundancy and repetitious story line that is kind of annoying. How many people need to repeat another persons background?
Too short. This was a real page turner. Good continuation in the series. I think this book will appeal to all readers. There is something for everyone.
Read this out of sequence of the others in this series. Question I've looked for the next book but unable to find it,even thou listed to out in summer2023.
