Could be a good start for a series of comics. The Easter Egg like text at the bottom of the Lower Decks section of this comic book was a little interesting.
Star Trek is my favorite franchise, so, of course, I picked up this FCBD issue. The first story begins with an unfamiliar character, Captain Meyerson, speaking to a cloaked Klingon. This Klingon treacherously kills the captain and is revealed to be Alexander, Worf’s estranged son. What is the Red Path he speaks of? The second story is set on the Lower Decks ship, with three of the ensigns visiting the holodeck. There is the usual bickering between Boimer and Mariner, with some funny digs towards the other shows.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about the reveal in the Day of Blood prelude. Also not sure how soon I can catch up on comics before reading that crossover. The Lower Decks comics preview was very fun holodeck stuff, though. Looks like that series translates as well into comics as I hoped and expected. Really want to read more of that.
A Starfleet Captain travels with a Klingon priest to Qo'Nos to watch a reenactment of Kahless' defence of the triple path, but becomes witness to a secret collusion between the Klingons and the Romulans which will threaten peace in the Quadrant.
Cantwell's prelude serves as a good advertisement for the upcoming 'Day of Blood' storyline.
This FCBD 2023 giveaway presents two tales. First is an intriguing prelude to a summer crossover event featuring Worf and Sisko. Second is a short Lower Decks reprint which proved charming and amusing. One cannot argue the price!
OMG. This was my first ever Star Trek comic. I'm a long time fan of the franchise and have tried a few books and was kinda "meh" , but this was good prelude to the Day of Blood. So now I really want to read the day of blood when it is released!
I have always loved the Klingons. Here they go all Warhammer 40k Blood for the Blood God and for a pretty out of character move, Alexander has been roped into the violent cult. Going to see where this is going...
I am sooooo intrigued by the Day of Blood storyline that's building up. Also loved the Lower Decks excerpt. Especially since there was an NX-01 reference!!! Love ENT.
I feel like I would've enjoyed the first 1 if I were a Trekkie, but the second one was really good and has led to me adding Lower Decks to my watch list.
