I’ve always wanted the small-town Christmas dream.
Unfortunately, this Christmas, I might become a monster's dinner.

My Christmas dream involved a small town, Christmas markets,
and maybe a handsome man who would sweep me off my feet.
But I was never very lucky.
This small town thinks I’m wicked and
After a series of attacks, they decide I’m the perfect gift to calm Krampus down.

Krampus. Yes. That Krampus.
I laughed, too. I even hoped this was all a prank.
Spoiler it wasn’t.

Dressed only in my nightshirt, I’m dragged into the woods, tied up… and left for the beast.
And the beast comes.
And the beast takes me away.

This could have been the end for me.
But nothing is as it seems.

Krampus has other plans for me.
Plans that involve claiming me as his.
And the more I fight, the more he wants to punish me.

I know I shouldn't enjoy this. I know wanting this monster is wrong.
But I can't help the way he makes me feel.
Maybe I am as wicked as they say.

I’m honestly surprised I made it to 64% because it was horrible the whole way through. Every other page was about her white blonde hair. There is a trigger warning for racism and up to the point that I got there was literally nothing to use that warning unless you were pointing it there to warn of the fact that the cover has a seemingly white character with blue skin has dreads which is not mentioned at all…

Pls dont piss me off

The synopsis is a tad misleading. It says that Olivia, the heroine, was wicked and that might cause you to assume she's a rule-breaker or doesn't conform, but that's the farthest from the truth. She was really just this naive, good girl, with mommy&daddy issues, who honestly deserved to be sacrificed to Krampus. The first few pages of this book was like the opening to a horror movie because she made every wrong decision a person could possibly make. She drove MILES away from home and stopped in an old German town where she told a complete stranger she was alone on trip. Then instead of immediately leaving, she decided to explore the town that doesn't get many visitors, and go hiking, despite the strange looks, the rumors and "fairy-tale" stories told by the townsfolk. I understand characters have to be unaware and slightly dumb to keep the story going, but there were a TON of red flags and I don't know if it's humanly possible to miss every single one. One person legit told her she shouldn't stay too long in town. She's lucky she was sacrificed to Krampus and he happened to take a liking to her because in normal circumstances she'd wind up on a missing poster.

Honestly, this book reminded me of a cheap knock-off of Disney Beauty and the Beast. However, when Belle ran away in the middle of a snowstorm, it was a lot more tolerable, because in contrast, Olivia was just plain stupid. She seemed to get even stupider once Krampus came around, which is impressive. She tried to runaway from Krampus TWICE while there was a blizzard each time. The first time she was only wearing a thin night shirt. She wanted to go back to town, because she had no hard feelings towards the townsfolk for sacrificing her. The 2nd time she ran away was because Krampus wouldn't let her decorate HIS home. I don't know if the author tried hard enough to make readers like Olivia because how can anyone like a heroine who's so foolish? I don't know how Krampus tolerated her.

I wasn't a huge of how Krampus was written either because his thought process didn't even make sense. He finally got freedom after being imprisoned for an unknown amount of years, wants revenge on the Townsfolk but suddenly decided that revenge could wait, so he could get to know Olivia. That didn't make sense because even if he was intrigued by her, he still had a grudge against humans for betraying him&imprisoning him. Somehow all this hate he had for humans disappeared by like day 2 and by a full week, Olivia and he were intimate.

The emotions of these characters were all over the place. Initially, Olivia was written as being a naive doormat and was polite to everyone BUT as soon as Krampus came around her personality did a 180. She became ungrateful, complained about her lodgings and food, and started becoming this stubborn brat. Weirdly enough, she was only impolite to Krampus. There was no plausible reason for her personality to completely change and only with one person. But then she would do another 180 and revert back to her initial personality of a girl who never felt good enough. I didn't know who I was going to get on each page but I knew I didn't like either version of her.

This book really should've been a 100pg novella because it was just a ton of s3x. I don't mind s3x scenes but it gets a tad boring when it's almost 400pgs of it and it's made even more uninteresting when you don't even like the characters. By pg 250 I was desperate for this book to end. It became stagnant with no actual goal bc Krampus had pretty much given up on revenge already so it was really just pages and pages of more s3x, more temper tantrums, and then more s3x.

Started off super strong. Middle of the story dragged. Ending wrapped it up nicely. Could have been 60-70 pages shorter but still not a bad read. Thoroughly enjoyed. Perfect smutty Christmas read

Listen, I love smut as much as the next girl but this just had so much that I got bored and started skimming around 75% through. It felt like the author originally wrote some chapters as one shots because they were basically just different spicy scenes with not much to add to the plot. The “What is she doing to me?” musings from the MMC at the end of several chapters made it feel so redundant.

The attraction between them boils down to “oh, he’s hot and never wears a shirt” and “oh, she’s sassy and not scared of me.” Krampus is just a big, blue hot guy with horns. I guess the author was too much of a coward to give him hooves lmao

Then, it has 2 epilogues/time skips. The first one felt like a one shot because all it did was—

*spoiler*

introduce their first baby and include a spicy scene. The next time skip introduces their second baby and actually wraps it up. I felt like the first time skip/epilogue was pretty pointless.

P.S. Also, if I see the word “cream” again, I’m gonna gag.

Okey so I don’t know how to rate this one.

The fmc Is so stupidly stupid and naive. Almost 80% of the book I just want to scream at her and at the ending when everything happened I just wanted to end her myself!!🤬🤬
I liked how it started and the spicy scenes but outside of those I just wanted to slam the book into the nearest wall repeatedly!
And I don’t get how she can forgive and forget the people that sacrificed her to some messed up belief!!?
Krampus, I mean at this point just leave her and find someone else that isn’t as stupid and sucidial (I don’t know how to write that word🫣🫣) as her!!😡😤😫

I feel like it should have been a scene between her mother and sister and not leave it like that…? I want to know more what happened to them..

Your average grumpy/sunshine, but not really Krampus.

I’ve been reading a lot of Krampus books and don’t know what to make of the ones that claim he’s the Krampus then toss aside what actually makes him a Krampus. In this book he could be any grumpy, ancient mythological being who lives like a hermit and has 2 🍆. A dragon would actually fit the story better.

This book had some good moments but I DNF’d at around 70%.

“I keep telling myself I’m keeping her around to figure out this attraction. That I only want to use her as a tool for my vengeance. The truth is that this woman has consumed me. There’s no way out now. I tried to keep my distance, but it’s impossible. A wicked grin takes my face. Things have changed. She’s not a tool anymore—she’s a challenge. She has already driven me insane. Now I’m repaying the favor.”

Thank you BookSprout for the ARC! While this was a good choice for a Christmas book, it didn't resonate too much with me. It is well written but the story just didn't wow me.

The Good:
- When the pacing works, it works really well
- I didn't usually feel like the Omegaverse aspects were too much
- The characters are well rounded and fun
- The bratting and antagonizing aspects were fun

The Bad:
- I don't like some of the sexual words, like slick
- I hate that his cum is oily
- Some parts are confusing when trying to picture which member of his she was enjoying
- I would have preferred this to be influenced by Beauty & The Beast instead of a retelling
- I wanted more violence on the village
- The stakes didn't feel high so I didn't care as much

The Ugly:
- Just too long
- Pacing made this book feel even longer since it was so sporadic.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, smutty, sweet, fantasy read!!

I thought that the plot line was well done, made sense all throughout, and had the perfect amount of drama to make it engaging yet not overly upsetting. I definitely felt the chemistry between Krampus and Olivia, and the spice was amazing. (Be warned it is very spice heavy so if you want more plot and less spice this probably isn’t the book for you.) I also thoroughly enjoyed the fantasy quality to the book. The elves making magical cakes, the fairies flying around on hummingbirds, the magical aura of the cottage and the forest all made me feel like I was transporting into a world where I could forget the mundane problems of everyday life.

Knocking one star off due the some of the awkward phrasing of sentences/words.
Example: “…I reach between her legs. First, I ripped her panties out,”
This makes no sense to me lol
Also would’ve wished for a little bit more of the history of Christmas kinda vibe but there’s still plenty of Krampus themes!

Loved this adaptation/vision of Krampus and lowkey wished we had an anatomical diagram haha because I am very curious now 😊 also dang where is my monster man that can summon a bathhouse for me in his magical cottage? can’t wait to read more from this author!!

I…ugh…learned some things from this book. I just wanted a fun Krampus Christmas romcom-esque type story…this was like the XXX rated version with a dash of small town creepiness, racism, deals with demons, child murders, attempted sacrifices to Krampus…(so, you know, your totally typical small town shenanigans)and all sorts of freaky boning.

I’ve never read a monster romance before, so this was quite the introduction to the genre. I had absolutely no idea what “knotting” was, but I do now…😳🫣🫢 I’m not sure the genre is for me to be totally honest. The double 🍆🍆 was so distracting…

I did enjoy the house elves and Matilda, the hummingbird riding fairy. They were great little side characters and very sweet. I also did like the actual love story between Krampus and Olivia, I just wish we could have learned more of Krampus’ backstory and how he ended up there and if Olivia was his legit “fated mate” or if she just had a really high pain tolerance…I’d also really like to know who the demon was…?

Overall, this was a quick, entertaining read, but a bit too smutty for me. I think I’ll stick to my fae/vampire/shifter fantasy romance stuff in the future.

This was a fun short read with a bunch of spice! I don’t normally do holiday themed books but the Krampus story line was pretty good.
We have MMC Krampus and FMC Olivia as your characters. She was chosen as a sacrifice to him to keep the peace in a small town. It honestly gave Supernatual storyline vibes if you’ve ever seen that one episode. Krampus however doesn’t want that type of sacrifice!
What will he do with this annoying human that smells divine though??
The story advances quite fast and I don’t think I would have handled the situation half as well as Olivia did. She was abandoned by her family and is now locked away with the Krampus. There is no escaping him but eventually he knows he has to let her go. She is only human after all.

When Olivia ends up leaving, and is in more danger than she was originally, Krampus has to make a choice: be the monster everyone assumes him to be or be something he never thought he could? After all, he has always been the one to punish those who have been bad.

Double epilogue, happy ending, lots of spice even though they are shorter scenes. Very good monster/supernatural/mythical read.

I think this is a perfect holiday romance to read.

It is fun, light-hearted and deliciously smutty!

There are a few issues with this book. It needed to be revised and it lagged on a bit more than needed to. I think if this had been 40 to 50 pages less it would have been way better. There are also a few items that make no sense or were thrown into the pile but had no meaning. An example of this is the MC's hair color. It is pure white. In the beginning it seemed like this would be more significant later on but it wasn't at all. Also MC is immortal but that is just casually thrown in at the end? As if.

The romance and smut were great. I think the plot was pretty great for feeling like it had only one rough draft and then was immediately published. Krampus was to die for. I loved the interactions between him and everyone. I think this was a great holiday themed romance. Definitely put me in the festive mood while I'm sick :)

Great for anyone wanting a monster romance that is holiday themed.

DNF @ 59%

HOW is there 150 more pages after this??

The writing is juvenile and the storyline isn’t making sense. We’re jumping through chapters at random speeds and forgetting prior lore. At one point Krampus says “let me tell you about the masks” and spoiler alert, we never get the story.

The plot is very thin- which you can expect for erotica- but for the length, it’s a mess. There needed to be more characters in this because a few elves and fairies were not enough, leaving us with only Olivia and Krampus. Both of which I’m not understanding. Olivia starts this book as a door-mat people pleaser, so why all the sudden is she fighting back on everything Krampus says?? It’s out of character and there was no growth to get there. Krampus is just lowkey boring.

I thought maybe I could stick it out, but the plot is infuriating. 50% in there’s a random “she runs away” chapter, but NOTHING before this leads up to it?? It’s giving whiplash!

I can’t do it y’all. I’m at 68% and I cannot finish this book. At about 10% the FMC Olivia gets sacrificed to Krampus and he saves her (no spoilers there, it’s all in the summary). And since that time we’ve made ZERO movement forward in the plot. The story is dragging and the characters are so predictable as they slowly (so fucking slowly) get to tolerate one another, while occasionally giving each other and themselves orgasms. Sometimes Olivia tries to run away. Krampus then saves her, she’s all thankful, and they do something like fucking. And I try not to factor this into my review, but I find it so unappealing when the MMC’s member is so large it splits the gal in half. I know Krampus is 8 feet tall but good gods. Props to all the size queens that enjoy a baseball bat, but couldn’t be me. Especially when there are two of them.

It was good but...

It started out quite well but the further I got the less sense the story and the characters made. There were times I wondered if I skipped a chapter somehow or maybe one or two were placed out of order, but I fear it was just a lack of a cohesive timeline on the authors part.

As well as that, the further I got the less sense was made, lots of grammar mistakes and the ending felt very forced, unbelievable and rushed.

On the brightside the characters when not confusing, were engaging and the spicey scenes (while at times hard to follow) were very spicey and enjoyable indeed 😁

This book could easily be 4 or 5 stars with a good edit and maybe an extra chapter or two just to tie things together better.

⭐️⭐️⭐️, 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I’ll admit, I read this book and like it enough to finish it. Please don’t shame me. The story was a good concept but the author got lost in writing smut content over the plot. And there’s a lot of smut. When you thought the story was going to get more in depth, it would stop because they would start going at it again. He’s a monster with interesting anatomy and I’m not talking about his two horns (because one just isn’t enough, right ladies? 🙈). At 387 pages, 300 being smut, it could’ve been reduced by 100 pages but then it would’ve been 287 pages of smut with absolutely no plot 😜. In conclusion, I wish the author focused on the plot and characters more and less on the smut.

a great story about Krampus

I loved it and it was definitely filled to the brim with smut. The only issue I have with this story is that her family issues were never fully addressed. So she just disappeared and her family never noticed? Idk I just felt like the story wasn’t rushed towards and ending but left with a few unanswered storylines.

A great palette cleanser

Knotty list is beauty and the beast meets dark spicey romance. Krampus being the beast who starts off as an angry monster set on revenge only to come upon Olivia. Olivia would be Belle in this case. It’s spicy , oh so spicy with Krampus having a special surprise under his belt! Olivia starts as a pushover but then becomes sassy and confident which I absolutely loved! Krampus’s cold heart warms due to Olivia. It’s like wholesome dark romance with a hint of gore, lots of possessiveness, and a sweet love story all wrapped into a spicy little bundle that is perfect for the holiday season. Give it a read especially if you love Krampus and smut!

Always down for a good Krampus romance with all of the Beauty and the Beast vibes, and Knotty List was very enjoyable.

My only complaint (and this is just a personal preference) is that I feel like it could have been shorter. I'm all for some great spice - and this book comes with that in spades - but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, unfortunately... and it got to the point near the end where I was skimming over the spicy bits because I was bored... and it takes a lot for me to do that! So knocking it down one star.

But everything else was great!

If you enjoy monsters and holiday romances, Knotty List needs to be added to your TBR!

Call me a freak or whatever, but I was a little peeved that we didn’t get a better description of Krampus. All I can remember was that he was an 8 foot tall blue dude with horns and white hair… was there more of a description and I never came across it. So he is always shirtless, but wears pants, why? Does he have human like legs? Hooves? We know he has two penis’ and truth be told during some of the smut scenes I think even the author forgot which cock was what and where.

The story could have definitely been condensed. But, it worked itself out. Also if you’re looking for much plot or action and adventure… this book is not it.

this was fun for a while, but it either needed to be shorter or it needed far more plot. my favorite parts were with matilda and the faeries, and i wish there were more of that. i know i almost solely read sexy spicy romances, but this had too many sex scenes that were repetitive and not particularly relevant to the plot.

there were a few of the sex scenes that were sexy and fun, but eventually they all kinda ran together and it became boring. the book starts to drag in the middle because of it, and i think probably about 50 pages (of mostly sex) could’ve probably been cut and the story would’ve remained almost exactly the same.

Wow, I can't believe how much I've read this year.
This book was a really good, smutty little book for christmas. If you're looking for a book with 50/50 smutt and story WRONG BOOK... but with 35%story(that's super interesting) and 65% smutt.
I will say I didn't like the what should not be names written so many times, but I see why we're talking about it.
Also 2 cocks and a Knott yeah a Knott

Maybe Not So Monstrous?

Olivia’s breaks down in a small town, so as an outsider, naturally the town wants to sacrifice her to Krampus. While it sounds bonkers, when Krampus finds Olivia, sacrifice isn’t what on his mind. This story builds and builds their relationship, slowly transition it from one of antagonism, to attraction but uncertainty, to something deeper. I enjoyed this transition immensely, along with all the spicy spice that accompanied it. A little dark, plenty of light, and a festive monster read.
