This book is wonderful. Also, if you have this book, and are concerned about there not being an index or guide to what charts best fit given data sets, page 71 has a super clever chart of the different charts and uses of charts. It's a meta-chart. I'm surprised the editors let the author get away with that. It makes me, as a novice bibliomaniac, ineffectually stifle his laughter.

Excellent book for getting an some good ideas about how to visualize data. A bit short on good advice, more of an overview.
