Blake Karrington is more than an author. He’s a storyteller who places his readers in action-filled moments. It’s in these creative spaces that readers are allowed to get to know his complex characters as if they’re really alive.
Most of Blake’s titles are in the South in urban settings that are often overlooked by the mainstream. But through Blake’s eyes, readers quickly learn that places like Charlotte, NC can be as gritty as they come. It’s in these streets of this oft overlooked world where Blake portrays murderers and thieves alike as believable characters. Without judgement, he weaves humanizing backstories that serve up compelling reasons for why a drug dealer might choose a life of crime.
Readers of speak of the roller coaster ride of emotions that ensues from feeling anger at empathetic characters who always seem to do the wrong thing at the right to keep the story moving forward.
In terms of setting,Blake’s stories introduce his readers to spaces they may or may not be used to - streetscapes with unkept, cracked sidewalks where poverty prevails, times are depressed and people are broke and desperate. In Blake storytelling space, morality is so curved that rooting for bad guys to get away with murder can sometimes seem like the right thing for the reader to do - even when it’s not.
Readers who connect with Blake find him to be relatable. Likening him to a bad-boy gone good, they see a storyteller who writes as if he’s lived in world’s he generously shares, readily conveying his message that humanity is everywhere, especially in the unlikely, mean streets of cities like Charlotte.
This was great story I felt for Lauren’s situation she was living in struggle ville. That’s when she met her angel in disguise Neville a pimp turned straight simp! That’s cute for them. However when he first Assad “Lauren’s son” he gravitated towards him instantly. Though he had his demons from his past after him he was able to muster up some good to help out Lauren.Sprinkle sprinkle! With faith the size of a mustard seed and a CPN , Lauren’s whole life change but at what cost? Wanna know more read the book and don’t judge a scammer but their scams . Just make sure they do your bid 😂

Wonderful story. I loved how Neville chose to make his decision for Lauren and not let her take the fall. The way they stood 10 toes for each other was amazing. Even though Lauren was to green for her own good. Neville could have ditched her and left her for dead she had to much faith in him. But that same faith made him turn himself in… I wish the book was longer I wasn’t ready to let the book go 10/10
Blake Karrington brought us an interesting, well written story that flowed well and kept my attention. The storyline dealt with a scammer who was only interested in women who could benefit him money wise. He didn’t love anyone or anything other than money until he met Asaad and Lauren. I really enjoyed this storyline and it was definitely worth reading.
This is the second book this week I've read by Blake Karrington and he did his thing. The thing about the story is that there's lot of grimey men in jail but there's some good brothers (not many) but we don't know their stories. I rushed through this book but I couldn't put it down. It was that good.
Neville and his scamming ways finally caught up with him. He was also selfish until he met Lauren and her son. Lauren tried to just do things the right way but life kept knocking her down until she ran into Neville. That man changed her life and she changed his. I enjoyed this book. The perfect title bc they needed each other.
Another enjoyable story by Blake Karrington. Although short, the flow was steady. I like how Neville and Lauren fell in love without really knowing it. I can't say much more or Ill be telling you the story. If you like short, and sweet romantic interludes this is a good one.
There's good in everyone. Lauren saw the good in Neville and it changed her life. Everyone deserves a second chance, but Neville and Lauren were reminded there are consequences for our actions. This was a quick, easy read and a page turner. The characters were relatable, especially Lakesha who was a ride or die friend. I enjoyed the unexpected twists.
This was absolutely fantastic especially with all the fraud and scamming going on today, this story of a very selfish man finding that one love of a real woman to help him become the man he is destined to be!!! Loved it!!!! Thanks Mr. Karrington!!!
When you start a story and have no idea of what you walked into! That’s Neville and Lauren tell. Although short it will take you there and have you seeing scenes like a movie😳. Great work Mr. Karrington
This book just like Blake’s other books are all great. I loved it from beginning to end. Love how Neville changed for the better and Lauren being a great mother.
Wow, wasn’t expecting that transformation! “Love Did: A Novella: Sometimes It Takes The Right Woman” was an interesting read. The storyline transformed rapidly. Neville got the inspiration to become a family man? Hmmm⁉️
I could have finished this book in one day, it’s just that short. Yet it got straight to the point and didn’t drag out the story. I was a little upset at first but the ending will show you what prayer and God timing is always on time.
This was a cute story. A single mother struggling to make ends meet and a scammer who never cared about anyone but himself. They meet, he does the only thing he knows how to do, which is put her on to a scam and things go from there.
Was very good I like story that get straight to the point I have not read romance novel in a very long time, but I would like to read more by this author
