I was blown away by this book. I received the book when I had cataract surgery last month from the clinic (Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute) with the instructions they gave me on discharge. They prayed with me before the procedure and it was an incredibly well run and fantastic clinic and experience.
The author of this book had a rough beginning, not money wise or abuse wise, but things he did to himself and the choices he made. Through a series of miracles he found his way.
I loved this book because the God in it is loving and the author is n0n-judgmental, and it says that there is always hope.
I recommend it highly, regardless of your religious affiliation, or non affiliation.

Meet a hippie who searched for meaning, living naked in the deserts of California. How he discovered God on that journey is truly amazing!

Our family’s new favorite book ever! It’s an easy, interesting read, and I love how Batchelor tells of his escapades before Christ, but emphasizes the richness of his new life with Christ. Every family should read it!

This book is quite intense, even though it is enjoyable to read. If all this really happened the way it is written then I'm not sure what to think.

Great read!

Intriguing and easy read. It makes me think that if God can work miracles in his life, he can do it in mine as well.

Picked this up late at night cleaning out a book case. Couldn't remember where I received it. Great testimony and shows the power of God! He becomes a Seventh Day Adventist, and I have my specific issues with that - but God was still working and it just proves that if we have the "majors" right - interdenominational relationships can still occur (like God sending him to help a sick neighboring pastor of a Bible Believing church on Sunday morning). I know some SDA denom's do not preach Gospel - but Doug clearly loves and serves the Lord and reaches people and tells them about Jesus. I realized later that the book was a gift from my old SDA employer! Regardless of what someone thinks about SDA's - pretty hard to not be inspired by God's Word - the Bible alone - and everything that transpired by the work of God over the course of several years in Doug's life. If Doug reads this thank you so much for sharing and may God continue to bless and keep you. I am so sorry for the loss of your son. Your mighty testimony impacted me. Someone can live in the middle of NOWHERE - and God can move and speak powerfully! Amen!!

This book has a very intense autobiography. Although the author had some questionable concepts at the beginning of his faith, I am relieved that he found out that not only with his type of church does God work with.

Very inspiring book describing God's transformation of a person. Doug is a run-away child from rich parents, who easily gets into troubles. His openness to new experiences but lack of discipline and self-control leave him in a cave seeking tranquility. A dust-covered old Bible, intentionally left-behind in the cave, causes this young hippie to repent. The following events show how a clean motivation and faith in Jesus can turn around a person's character. From a bully, disobeying child, new age hippie, disloyal, trouble-making, unfaithful wanderer, God turned this person into a strong believer, familist, disciplined worker, evangelist, pastor and a great leader who bettered the lives of many. This autobiography rises hope that change is more than possible through faith in Jesus Christ.
