The Target

Rate this book
Two young mothers arrive in Fox Marsh, Michigan, during the summer of 2018, misfits in town for very different reasons, and both lonely. One is determined to settle in and become a part of things, while the other is just as intent on staying out of sight. Their lives connect when they meet by chance while walking in the same lovely patch of woods, a place that offers them both peace and hope. Opposites in many ways, they nevertheless form a connection around their shared appreciation of the place and a common interest in baking homemade bread. A friendship grows. When a stranger is discovered skulking around in those woods, both recognize danger. Each has a reason to believe this man puts her and her family at risk. But only one is the target.
