About the author

Krista Dunk is an author, speaker, the project director for two book publishing companies, and founder of Author Acceleration Academy. A teacher at heart, Krista has written 12 books so far. Her first book, Step Out and Take Your Place, was published in early 2011. Along with her first book, its companion resources and Author Acceleration, she has also published a devotional, the Ninja Kitty children’s book series, as well as books in The Abundance Plan book series. Her most recent book is a collaboration with 20 other authors called Broken Chapters. Her next project is Curiosity Adventures, an impactful fiction series.

As a child and young adult who struggled with timidity, Krista now finds herself speaking and training in front of audiences large and small. She is passionate about helping people get a vision for how their life could look and to step out into it. Working with authors since 2012 has been one of Krista’s greatest joys.

Krista and Chris, her husband of 30 years, live in Washington State and have two amazing young-adult children.

I found a lot of the stories in this book quite inspiring. As someone who has experienced a certain amount of trauma myself (although, who hasn’t, really!), it was a blessing to read of other people who have been through hard times and have come out victorious, with a stronger faith in God. There were a number of things in the book about which I’m not sure how I believe, or do not believe are right; however, in each of these cases, it appeared that the person loved God and God was working in their lives. So, I’ll leave those things in God’s hands and just appreciate reading about God’s work in these people’s lives.

Readers will find comfort and hope in the twenty-one inspiring "lemons to lemonade" stories found in 'Broken Chapters: Testimonies of How God Rewrites Our Life Stories. Each story details one writer's broken chapter, otherwise known as circumstances of struggle, pain, fear, loneliness, shame, regret, and various other life challenges. Within each story, we see the hand of God at work, which eventually brings hope and peace.

The stories are relatively short, making Broken Chapters a quick and easy read. Anyone experiencing a difficult season in life would likely find a relatable story in this book.

Although Broken Chapters is written with a Christian foundation, it isn't overtly religious and could appeal to a general audience.

This book is what I would call a memoir of many different authors, each telling their very personal stories. I’m always hesitant of books like this because all of the stories won’t be interesting or told well. I got it wrong.
Each author in this book has a unique voice as they tell their story that is not only cathartic to the teller, but brings life and hope to the reader. I had several “ I know how that feels” moments and many OMG moments as they shared their “ survival” stories, all of which gave me hope.
I highly recommend this book.

Each account is well written and the anthology is organized in an easy to follow way.
It's easy to pick up and put down with little stories to enjoy each time.
Through the vast array of stories, the reader is given multiple things to think about.
Insight and inspiration in a Christian way with true stories of faith. I enjoyed this.

This is a must read for anyone struggling with this thing called “life”. A for real “page turner” that takes you through a range of emotions through the words of many different authors. I promise you will identify and find similar experiences with each and every one of these stories. They all found one common thread — Jesus! What a mighty testament to the God we serve!!!

I liked each author told their stories, experiences, the good and the bad. They also told us how to lean and depend on GOD to bring us through any situation.
These stories have the very same similarities that's in everyday households, many can learn from this. Well done.
