Rate this book
Charlie's world was turned upside down when her boyfriend was taken from her by the very people who are supposed to protect and serve. Grief and anger consumed her, and decided to uproot her life and start anew on the other side of the country. But the weight of her loss hangs heavy over her, leaving her feeling lost and alone in a new city.

In the midst of her struggles, she crosses paths with Santiago - a man whose kindness and compassion draw her in. He sees the strength and vulnerability within her, and he wants to be there for her in any way that he can. As her feelings for him grow stronger, Charlie finds herself plagued with guilt for even considering moving on from the past.

Will she take a chance on the possibility of a new love, or will she allow the pain of the past to keep her locked in a cycle of grief and guilt?

Unbreak my heart

This author has a way of writing stories that just pull you in. After reading the first book and the tragedy of Kyrie’s murder I was apprehensive to read this story because I couldn’t handle another tragedy, but I as curious and hopeful that Charlie would find her forever love like Troi and I’m so glad I decided to read this book because I really enjoyed it. Charlie needed Santiago to help give her perspective and get her through her healing and he showed her love and kindness at every turn. I loved their genuine connection and how they had so much in common. At times I thought they should have been older especially with the intimate scenes but then I remembered that when you meet your person, in a sense being so young doesn’t matter and they can have as much as a meaningful relationship and connection as someone ten years older. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and this couple kept me smiling. I wonder if there will be another book in this series or if things will end here.

Survivor’s Remorse

Hmmm 🤔, this series continuation of Charlie’s abrupt relocation from Harmony Heights to CA was underwhelming …possibly even inconsistent with Charlie’s alpha feline personality🤷🏾‍♀️‼️Granted, everyone grieves differently & or responds differently to traumatic experiences. However, Charlie’s recollection of her three week (non committal friends with benefits) involvement with Kyrie vacillated between exaggerated, fantasy & fictitious 🤨‼️Consequently, the sympathy, grief therapy & PTS etc. felt extreme, unwarranted & contrived🙄‼️ …Honestly, she wasn’t even close to Noah 🥴 (Kyrie’s cousin & her best friend’s boyfriend) …I didn’t expected her to grieve more than the family 🤷🏾‍♀️‼️Charlie suffered from survivors remorse not grief‼️Nevertheless, “Unbreak My Heart: Life University (Harmony Heights Spin-Off Series)” - Book 2 was just a (3.50-3.75 ⭐️’s) mediocre read especially in comparisons to the intensity & dramatic storyline & characters of book 1. …”Unbreak My Heart” wasn’t a horrible read rather contradictory🤷🏾‍♀️‼️

Charlie and Santiago

I like Charlie and Santi's chemistry, they were a good match. I didn't like all of the comparison between Santi and Kyrie. I understand her working through her complicated feelings of them not having enough time together to know if they would've been in love but Kyrie was going to be in her life whether they made it as a couple or not because of Noah and her dad mentoring him. It got to be a little repetitive and unfair to constantly compare. I hope a book about Kareem and Cara is next.
