A mysterious illness threatens the Envoy. The bonds of blood and duty have been torn asunder. The history of Kaveryth is not what it seems. The North Sea is calm once again, but for Wes Cervos and his friends, victory is tainted with darkness. Bandits continue to roam Kaveryth, the elves are shoring up their strength, and control of the Four Kingdoms is slipping away into anarchy. Despite the chaos that surrounds them, Wes knows that they can’t simply wait around for the next attack. They need to find answers if they are going to put a stop to this war before it begins. Traveling to his old home in Stronghollow with the help of Celesyria, Kessara, and Aelrie, he seeks the truth from an old enemy, but fears that it may already be too late. Meanwhile, far off in the deserts of Boneshire, Alder must find a lost queen and keep her safe, but an unforeseen menace stands in the way of his plans. Kessara risks everything she cares about for an impossible love, Aelrie fears that she will never break free of the evils of her past, and as the demands of the High One become more burdensome, their faith is tested like never before. When the path ahead is shrouded in shadow, who will have the courage to keep moving forward? Storm & Spire is a Christian fantasy series, perfect for readers who enjoy fantastical creatures, political intrigue, and a touch of clean romance.

I said in my review of the first book that I thought this series would get better with each book, and I was right. While there have been editorial issues with this series, I believe they should be overlooked because the story is fabulous enough to shine brightly despite them.

These stories have built to a crescendo that I am thrilled to be a part of. The growth of the characters' faith is quite realistic and therefore relatable, and there are many wonderful quotes I've highlighted throughout each of these books that are encouraging to anyone of the Christian faith.

Mrs. Lozinski has a wonderful way with words! She pulls you in to the feelings of the characters with beutiful, artistic wording. Here is a favorite quote from this book: "She had chosen who she wanted to be, and she would be true to it. Even if he could have done anything in the world to change her, he knew it was impoossible. She was the sea and the mountains, wild and immovable at the same time."💜

There was one section toward the end that felt a little like an info-dump, but it resulted in one heart-wrenching element to the series finally being settled, so waiting for book #5 won't be *as* hard as it could have been! (Thank you, Mrs. Lozinski!😉)

Well worth the read, especially for Christians!

Another great addition to the series! I'm excited to see what will happen next! Especially how everything is going to end!

Characters:
Wes and Alder are my favorites...well, Celesyria, Joconial, and Nazzan are on my favorite list as well! I just really enjoy reading about them all!
Kessara isn't a bad character, I just get annoyed with her sometimes...lol...and Aelrie is sweet, but I dunno. I just prefer the guys' thoughts...lol...

Themes:
Trusting in God, learning to ask Him for guidance, and doing the right thing, even when it's not what you want to do.

Romance:
A few kisses and mentions of characters wishing they could be together.

Language:
N/A

Overall:
I enjoyed this story. It felt a little slower than the previous books and some things didn't turn out quite as I thought they would. But all in all, I would can't wait to see how this series will end!

*I received a free copy of this book from the author and was not required to leave a good review. All thoughts and opinions expressed above are entirely my own.*

“You have to let Him help you.”

I’m so excited to see where this will end 😭 Also, sad to say but I’ve never cared about the romance between Alder and Kessara. Wes and Aelrie though🥰❤️ I shipped them from the start.

This. Book. It was amazing! I loved it so much! The characters felt so realistic as they dealt with their struggles, especially Kessara. While I was frustrated by some decisions she made initially, I started to love her more and more as the book went on. The storyline was amazing, and the last five chapters changed. everything. Everything. My mind is completely blown. The themes of God's plans, surrender to them, and His never ending love and forgiveness were absolutely beautiful. Overall, this is a mind blowing fourth book to the series that I absolutely loved! It took my on a wild emotional roller coaster, blew my mind multiple times, and resonated so deeply! I'd highly recommend this series to teen and up lovers of Christian fantasy!

An interesting in-between book to the series...
This book filled in many of the questions left unanswered from the previous books in the series. These questions include:
1. What does the prophecy really mean?
2. What happened to the lost princess?
3. Do dragons really not have souls?
4. Is there any words left from the High One?
and many more are addressed in this book. Because of that, action is limited to chasing a group of bandits and rescuing the lost princess's brother. Most of the character development has to do with dealing with the romantic entanglements. I liked how the book brought in spiritual themes like trusting the High One's plan over one's own and letting the High One fight your battles. However, the romance aggravated me to no end so I'm glad the romantic arc was resolved in this book, and the characters can focus on fighting evil in the final book in the series. Anyway, I'm glad the book answered some burning questions and set up for a big finale. I'm looking forward to seeing how the series wraps up!

Wow, what a ride! Let me try to put my notes in order without sounding too all over the place 😂

What's Up With Our Friends From Kaveryth!?

They continue to grow in friendship and mature in their place in the world (if that makes sense lol). Meanwhile all the puzzle pieces are finally coming together as we head towards the end of the "Storm and Spire" series! (ONE MORE BOOK LEFT!!!!) Questions that I've had forever are being answered, and it is SO satisfying.
Honestly, I say this every time but, WES!!! I love him more and more with every book. He is growing so much and becoming the man he needs to be. *sniff* I am so proud of him. 😭😂
Also can we TALK about this book cover!? 😍😍

description

Here are some quotes and points of the story that stuck out to me the most:

* A long moment later, she heard a sickening crunch, followed by silence.
While this part was hard to read, I am so glad the author put this in the book! For me, it was a really great way to show how senseless it is to destroy the most vulnerable and precious, while not sounding preachy (not that I believe we should worry about "sounding preachy" when it comes to this particular topic. But I think that it really flowed well with the story the author is telling overall. )

* Perhaps if more humans had despised the sight of evil, we would never have gotten to this point in the first place
So very true! Even though this book is fiction, I love how my mind takes so many of these quotes and ideas and applies them to the world today. It's very comforting somehow.

description

* "I could do it."
Funny, I kind of feel mad at Kessara for allowing her friends to worry about her so much here at this point in the book. Though while I feel mad at her, I made me reflective of how I act this way in my own life and how my actions potentially affect to those who care about me. Wheww!!

* “But something happened that the elves did not intend..."
... "it was picked up by the most UNLIKELY creature imaginable... BILBO BAGGINS OF THE SHIRE" LOL Just kidding 🤣

* We need to stop worrying about where the path ahead may become shrouded in fog, and think only about putting one foot in front of the other...
This book is literally the therapy I need 😂😂

* (S)ometimes we find greater faith when we fall. It reminds us that we are nothing, and He is everything. It gives us no choice but to take His hand, and let Him pull us back up.
Again, this is a fictional novel but I LOVE how it is speaking to me on a deeper level. It's reflective in that way and it reminds me of when I read the Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia. Really makes me connect to the novel on a deeper level.

description

Conclusion
I am probably one that goes overboard on "seeing connections" in fictional books that may or may not even be the authors intent but, "Storm and Spire" has yet to disappoint me with its story, characters and its lil "connections" and "meanings" that I am finding. 😂 The author has done such amazing work so far and I cannot wait to see how she finishes this series!!
For anyone new to the series I highly recommend checking out book one first Magnify and then continuing the series.
Fans of the Narnia books and the Lord of the Rings would really enjoy this series!

NOTE: I received a free copy, opinions are my own. 😊

What a ride!
Okay, so, I really don't know where to start since I don't want to giveaway spoilers to book 4 of the Storm and Spire series.
(I might share one spoiler so if you haven't read the whole series, BE WARNED!)

One of the best advantages of a story that has many books in a series is that you will get to really know all the characters. Their thoughts, beliefs, struggles, and how they grow as a person.
I have seen them from blindly following a false god to battling sea monsters for the purpose of the High One.
From beings friends to lovers to choosing your duty to the country first (and then back to that someone you love).
Knowing their backstories and a lot more.

I have highlighted so many things in this book! 😁
@lozinskistefanie wrote Biblical truths in Maker beautifully.
No cringe, no shoving-these-wisdoms-down-your-throat kind of thing. 😅
The only thing that I did not expect was Kessara and Alder. I am really rooting for Wes and her. 🙈

Anyway, I can't wait for the last book!
I am so excited as to what will happen to all of them, and of course, to their love stories. 😁

Okay, now, go and read all of them!

The end is nearing!!

This series is epic! Dive into book 1, don't start at book 4. The characters continue to grow and a plot line that was bothering me has been resolved beautifully!! There is adventure and faith and a deep look at how relationships grow and change and evolve. I can't find words that won't spoil it but it is so awesome and exciting and I can't wait for the finale!

WOW! Maker is by far my favorite so far in the Storm & Spire series. Watching the characters struggle with their wants versus what they think the right thing to do is very emotional. And the last few chapters explained so much, but also left you wandering what is coming next. I cannot wait for the next book!

I loveeee this series. First off, the characters are so diverse and their personalities all differ which makes it easy to notice who’s talking when it’s not told to us by the author. The plot itself is very well thought through, you can tell how much the author wanted her readers to enjoy the series. The romance is very beautiful and deep, which i really love because love is a very deep thing and to portray that between two characters in a clean manner as well is very impressive. Personally my favorite character is Celesyria, I love how much she loves and honors the High One despite ( as far as we know) being destined for the wrath lands. I am interested in seeing if the author will give her a mate, I know she is quite fond of Nazzan but I’m guessing that won’t happen considering he is already with Jaconial. And one of my favorite things and the MOST important thing is how much God is shown throughout this series, it can be hard as a young Christian to find interesting well thought out stories that showcase how hard life can be when you trust in God in a world full of things that are against Him. Overall I am so excited to read the last installment in this series and maybeeee Celesyria will get a mate 👀 10/10!

I was really looking forward to Helga and her little brother coming back into the picture. I enjoyed the chapters that followed them and wish there were more! The rest of the story the characters and writing is consistent with the first three books.
I'm so sad I didn't enjoy book four as much as the first three. It's completely a me thing and not the writing. I find I just don't care for Aelrie. I think the problem is her character was introduced a bit out of the blue in the earlier books and we don't have near the amount of backstory for her. I don't understand what makes her tick and what drove her from Nox to meet up with Wes. We get a few tinny glimpses of her past in this book. But I need more.

I'm still greatly anticipating what's going to happen in the last book and I hope I can reconcile myself eith Aelrie. I think she deserves it.

I NEED to know about Celesyria's father!

In Book 4 of the Storm & Spire series, Ms Lozinski pulls back the veil of backstory to show more clearly the role of dwarves, elves and dragons in the humans’ world. The hope of a wonderful resolution wars with the reality of widespread devastation and death.

Darkness is overtaking Kaveryth, and the few who embrace faith in the High One continue to seek the elusive Codex Veritas to know His full will.

I love how the romances intensify in this book. I enjoy watching Wes struggle through illness, humiliation and rejection to walk in truth. It’s my favorite book in the series so far. I’m looking forward to seeing how the series will resolve.

What a great addition to this series. The characters' arcs continue to grow. I enjoyed that Maker answers some more questions from the previous stories in this series and we finally get resolution to the romances that have been brewing while Alder searches for a lost queen. I enjoyed the spiritual elements in Maker.

Highly enjoyable

Many of the answers to questions from the previous books in the series are answered. The slow-burn romance finally pays off in a happy conclusion for all parties but along with some non-romantic heartbreak and disappointing news. Ends in a well done cliffhanger.

Well written.
It has some deep insights,
but also some things I cannot relate to.
But the story line remains interesting.

WOW. I just can't say enough about this book, this series, this author! But I also don't feel like I can do them justice.

To start with, you know the writing is superb when in every book of the FANTASY series, you find yourself praying for the characters. Every. Single. Book.

I felt everything in this book: mouth-dropping surprise, the chaos of the city, the heartbreak, the fear, the chills, the hope. Just amazing.

And the spiritual truths that are dropped throughout the series, and particularly (in my opinion) in this book, just makes my heart happy. There are so many parallels with the Bible here that I can't even begin to describe them.

Please read this series.

Plus: dragons! Who doesn't love dragons???
