Nicki is becoming a better reporter, so much so that her boss Neal leans on her more and more to get the good stuff. So when a rash of robberies hits the downtown Winchester area, Nicki is reporting the damage...and probably getting a little too close for the bad guys’ comfort. As if that weren’t enough, Nicki finds herself in a full-fledged love triangle between Jesse and Sean...and she can’t bear to choose between them.

Warning: Not for the faint of heart! This book contains explicit sex and naughty language. Proceed with caution...if you dare.

Oh Nicki, Nicki, Nicki.

Youdo get yourself in a pickle, don't you.

And the Matt thing? Was ok with it until the end when it felt kind of hinky - but maybe that's just me.

On to book 5

“Right Now: Nicki Sosebee #4” by Jade C. Jamison
5 out of 5 stars

Nicki’s back and ready to focus on herself! The men in her life aren’t quite living up to her expectations and she’s rethinking the whole relationship thing. Is she really cut out for just one man? On the work front, though, things are looking up. Neal is gaining confidence in her reporting and starting to seek her out for assignments. A rash of robberies in town has Nicki putting her investigative skills to the test and sleuthing her way to answers.

In this chapter of the series the “crime/reporting” aspect takes a back seat to the personal drama. I thought that was a nice change of pace for this book. Jamison’s smart to mix things up and by doing so avoids what could become formulaic. I enjoyed seeing Nicki take stock of her life and decide that she needed to spend some time focusing on her desires and where she wants to take those from here.

The expansion of the character Matt is smart here as well. He’s a breath of fresh air for Nicki and comes with no strings attached. Through him, she is able to just be young and carefree for a change. I liked seeing her so confident in herself and her appeal to someone else. Seeing Nicki through Matt’s eyes gives us a glimpse of a lighter young woman and perhaps that is how she looked before she got hung up on Sean. I hope that the strength and self-worth she gains here will carry over into all the facets of her life as she goes forward.

I was pleasantly surprised with the twist at the end. Jamison chooses to have Nicki take the road that is probably the one less traveled. I agree with her choice and I can’t wait to see where that leads us in the next book. I continue to be awed by the realism of Jamison’s characters. They are flawed and there is nothing cookie cutter about them. Every character brings something unique to the table and it keeps me coming back for more. The next book awaits and I’m diving in! I recommend this book and series to all!!

Series: Nicki Sosebee #4
Category /Genre: Romance
Received from: Jade C. Jamison in exchange for an honest review
Recommended for: 18 + due to adult situations and sexual content
Grammar/editing: A – near perfect

This is the fourth book in the Nicki Sosebee series and they do need to be read in order.

The ninth book in this series will be released in about two weeks, so I am trying to get caught up and be ready for FAKE as soon as it’s ready.

While reading this book, I was also stalking Facebook. Jade reposted my review for the previous book NO PLACE TO HIDE and I told her I was at chapter four here in RIGHT NOW and I didn’t know whose ass to kick first. Full blown love triangle, oh yea, and they all want to be the base (sorry, my math teacher persona making herself known). Oh, my Lord, people, don’t you know that ultimatums are never a good thing? Lovely person that Jade is, she tells me to keep reading, “You have a HUGE "Oh, sh*t" moment coming up near the end.” When I got to the end, and there is one hell of an “oh shit moment,” I had to tell Jade she is evil. She’s evil in a good way, but oh my! Team Sean or Team Jesse, either way Nicki has a hot guy who would move the world for her. Oh, and it is Nicki, so Sean and Jesse aren’t the only guys getting the steamy Nicki treatment (wink). I’ll admit, I had to give in and look up my old music and play Prince’s Sweet Nikki; it just seemed appropriate.

I can’t stop now. I need to continue reading this series. You’ll see me soon with the review for ONE MORE TIME. Until then, if you haven’t started reading this series, I am highly recommending you get caught up with me.

I received this book from the author for a truthful review.

*opens the packet of Tums and eats the whole entire thing* Stressed much you ask? HELLS YES!!! This book kicked my arse!! Sean or Jesse. Jesse or Sean. Here is my idea...both...at the same time?? HRMMMMM??? MAYBE??? MENAGE baby!!!!

Ok so I dont want to spill the beans on anything but Jesse and Nicki go through a rough patch. Thanks to Jackass Sean...growl....now I love Dean but he has some serious issues to deal with . The main one is how he feels about Nicki!!! Ok so while Jesse and Nicki spend time apart, she hooks up with an 18 year old busboy Matt. They sex was sweet because Nicki was cougaring it up big time...hello she is celebrating her 30th birthday this book!!! Anyway, Matt helps her with the case she is working on in this book.

I will say the last 2-3 chapters are beyond hot...like touched the sun, got burned hot. Nicki does a very hot strip tease for......hrmmmm......should i tell you? Is it Matt? Jesse? Sean??? I will say it is very hot and the "after stip tease" was a great twist. I was cheering at who was the recipient of the strip tease.

The side plot..yada yada was a bunch of burglaries where no much was stolen..nice side plot but really all you will care about is the above mentioned paragraph!! Now if you read that paragraph about all the hot and steamy sex and THAT didnt get you to buy the book...you must be dead!!! LOL

Wow wow wow...gonna say it again...wow =)
I am so happy I finally got to read this book series (as part of the Nicki Sosebee 4 pack)...what a deal and what a super fun and sexy grouping of short books. I love Nicki and her antics...and her WTF attitude about life and love and sex. This book left me wanting more...more Nicki and Jesse (Sean who?)...so darn it...I'm going to have to buy the next ones in this oh so entertaining series!
If all you have read so far is the BULLET series or Tangled Web...you are going to appreciate Jamison's earlier work. She never disappoints and gets it right on...hits the nail on the head every time and sucks you into whatever's happening with her characters.

AND that twist at the end...LOVED it so much =)

*****5***** stripping in the garage stars =)

WTF!

Ok. So, I love all the Nicki Sosebee books but this one left me with a big WTF! and a first for me in this series that I didn't see what was coming.

I'm still reeling over the ending of this book. I don't know if I want to smack her or high five her. Probably both.

Oh my goodness this series is so addictive between waiting to find out what Nicki’s next assignment will be and what obstacles she will have to overcome and figuring out this love triangle between her, Jessie and Sean I am HOOKED!
Jessie and Nicki have broken up now Nicki is trying to get her mind off Jessie as well as Sean. She finds it hard to resist Matt the 18 year old busboy. Matt makes Nicki feel young again taking her mind off her 30th birthday, Jessie and Sean. She also received her next assignment the town has been seeing several stores being broken into but not much being stolen.
I know who I want Nicki with but I loved the ending of this one. The twist was just great. I need to start the next one to see where Nicki leads me next.

Addicted to this Series

Nicki is ready to concentrate on herself and reporting news when things come to a glaring head with the two main men in her life. Then Matt a young co-worker asks her on a date and she takes a refresh. Lots of steam in this one with drama and mystery right up there too. These books are addictive. Cannot wait to see what is going to happen in Book 5.

Nicki Sosebee is for sure my all time favorite character ever written by Jade C. Jamison. She fun, spunky, has a lot of fun, and most of all gives us a lot of mystery. Jade has written nine books about Nicki so far and i hope she isn't done!! I want to keep reading about Nicki's exciting life. Read about what new stories she will be reporting about, and for sure find out what happens with her and the man she loves. Nicki's best friend, Sean was the one man she wanted to make things work with, the man she wanted to love. Only thing was they were somehow stuck in that friend zone. So while trying to get her career and get the guy Nicki blew off steam with other men. Only in this series NIcki tended to make steam, Jade sure did make sure we knew Nicki sizzles. Things always seem to get messy with Nicki's life, but she always finds a way out. Her life is definitely an entertaining one, and it takes you on a wild ride with no stopping.

Right Now (Nicki Sosebee #4)
Nicki is finally being noticed from all of her stories she has been reporting, her boss is so happy he give Nicki a new big story. So now Nicki is reporting all the robberies happening in the town, and once again this is putting Nicki in the way of these criminals. So of course that means Danger! Nicki thinks she should focus more on her career, because her love life is complicated. The love triangle between Sean and Jesse is getting crazy, so Nicki thinks maybe she isn't a one man kind of woman.

This series is so amusing. I love that the books are quick reads and are basically a story within a story within a story. The main story, that goes from book to book is basically Nicki's personal life. Then within each book you've got a story she's working on for the paper, and some piece of her personal life. In this book, we got a little heavier on the personal life, lighter on the story for the paper, which was great - the author does a great job at balancing that stuff out so there's not too much happening at once. So I loved this one, just a little less than the others. I feel like Nicki flip-flopped a little too much for me. But I LOVE Jesse. Love him.

The Nicki Sosebee books are so awesome - I love this author. I can't wait for the next one. Jade has done an amazing development of her characters. I like them as much as my Stephanie Plum books and they are a lot jucier.
