ANGELA DORSEY currently lives on Vancouver Island and is thoroughly enjoying the ocean breezes, awesome hiking, and lack of snow! In the past, she has lived in a number of small towns throughout B.C., and loved them all.
She loves hiking, traveling, and animals, and has a tendency to name her pets after things that remind her of her coastal home, such as Misty, Raven, and Cedar.
Angela writes novels, screenplays, and non-fiction, and has a number of literary publications (short stories, poems, and postcard stories) and articles published as well.
Another I never read when I was younger and sadly one of my least favorites in the series for reasons I’ll list below. But first, some positives. ☺️
Positives:
* I loved Chance and Hanna’s friendship and their horses, especially Taco, Hanna’s pony, who is super cute. * The parts where the tornado is chasing Chance and Angelica was SO well written I was literally terrified the whole time I read it and just FELT the utter devastation in the aftermath of it. This story has made me VERY confident that I never want to live in a tornado area like Kansas, where this is set, or be near one EVER! * The ending when characters band together to save another was a really great scene.
Negatives:
* Angelica wasn’t involved much as she has been in most of the previous books which I really like and was disappointed by. * Chance was kinda mean to Angelica and another character when she didn’t need to be. I get why she was still mad at the bullies and didn’t want to trust or be nice to them, but I think it almost crossed a line to where SHE nearly became a bully and therefore made me dislike her a little despite understanding WHY she was being that way. * The bully was horrible and made me SO MAD! 😡😡 While this is also a positive because this was the author’s intent, it still made reading her POV really hard at times.
So, I both liked and disliked this book, hence the low rating, but it certainly does it’s job of showing how terrible bullying is and how it affects all involved plus the terror and danger of a tornado.
