Leonardo Chambers is the grumpiest man I’ve ever met – and he’s my new boss.
One moment he’s insufferable, but the next he’s unexpectedly thoughtful. It’s enough to make my head spin. Despite my unexpected attraction to him, I’m convinced we’d kill each other if left alone for too long.
But then suddenly he flips the script in the most unexpected way and I’m left with a choice to make.
Addison Moore is the hottest mess I’ve ever met – and she’s our new office manager.
Although we’re complete opposites, I can’t quit thinking about her. Which is why I end up crashing her date, and taking her back to my house instead. But what starts as fun ends up in an epic disaster.
I should leave her alone. But I can't keep from thinking, this mishap could be the best thing to ever happen to me.
Full Length Standalone book with no cliffhanger. Eighth book of the “Miss Series”. ***Miss Hap is for mature audiences due to steamy bedroom scenes that are in no way contained to just the bedroom.***
Aubrey Bondurant is a romance author who believes life is better with humor, heat, and a happily-ever-after. She writes the kind of stories she loves to read—smart, flirty, and spicy enough to make you blush in public.
When she’s not writing, Aubrey is usually spending time with her family. She can be tempted by anything caffeinated, great cocktails, and any dog big enough to knock her over with enthusiasm. She’s convinced the world needs more kindness, more laughter, and way more swoony book boyfriends.
It’s no surprise I loved this book. It makes complete sense why I gobbled it right up. Because Aubrey Bondurant wrote it and it’s amazing!!
From the very beginning, I was pulled in and completely in love with both Addy & Leo. Though their first meeting was full of grumpiness (Leo) and a little bit of sass (Addy), their chemistry was still sizzling and burned hot.
Mr. Grumbly Scowly Leo is full of tattoos, has long hair, and is a man of few words. Yes. Please. Be still my heart and take me now. He has a knack for saying things that piss people off, but he doesn’t care.
Enter Sassy Miss Addy. She cares…and she puts Leo in his place, many times. And that’s why I ended up having a huge girl crush on her. She had no problems standing up for herself when necessary. Leo’s gruff exterior didn’t scare her one bit. And that only made her all the more attractive to Leo, who tried very hard to NOT be attracted to her. She made me laugh and smile and made me want to be her BFF. Her and Leo together made my heart so happy.
I loved the alternating POVs. When the hero is a big ol’ grumpy cinnamon roll, it’s always good getting inside their head. And Leo had LOTS going on in that pretty head of his.
Lots of emotional moments had my eyes tearing up. Those scenes were written with care and love and made me adore this author and her talent that much more. This well-written story is everything I love…an office romance… a grumpy hero…a feisty heroine…full of humor, heart, and spicy deliciousness. And all the feels! I thoroughly enjoyed this from cover to cover. Ms. Bondurant is an author I will one-click without hesitation. I’ve read everything she’s written and I plan to keep doing so.
If you’ve read and loved the other books in the Miss Series, you’ll definitely want to read this one!
Addy’s parents always told her she was bad luck and her cousin made digs about her weight, so when she loses her job she figures it’s par for the course. But when she gets bumped to first class on her way to Vegas, she thinks things are looking up. That is until the hottie in the next seat turns out to be a grump. Leo came back from Iraq with PSTD and survivors guilt. He knows that he doesn’t deserve to have love but he’s fascinated by the curvy Addy and when his brother hires her as the new office manager, he knows he’ll never be able to stay away. But will his problems tear them apart? I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.
I just saw other reviews and ratings .. I’m not sure we all read the same book !
It started out great. I was immediately hooked. I loved Addison’s sarcasm & clumsiness and Leo’s grumpiness & Jealousy but it all went down the drain after they hooked up for the first time and came up with the most horrible idea of all time. Having a baby together before even knowing each other. Such a horrible idea dude ! I knew Addison wanted to be a mom but i still don’t understand why did Leo did all that ? Just to remove loneliness i guess 🤷🏻♀️ Then she got pregnant and miscarried a little later and instead of being there for her .. he broke up with her on the worst possible day of her life. Wtf dude ?? Then when she got clear from the doctor to have sex again, he returned, served her divorce papers, fucked her and left her again. What the actual fcuk ? could you be more horrible?!! Even after all this he had the audacity to get jealous of her moving on with her life and to behave like an alpha-a-hole. He didn’t even grovel. Literally Zero Grovel. She forgave him too easily after hearing his sob story. She was too desperate for him to hold a grudge.
I’ve liked this series when i read it for the first time back in 2021/22 but i think i might not like them now. I’m disappointed.
5 star Review Miss Hap (Miss Series # 8) by Aubrey Bondurant
I really enjoy Ms. Bondurant’s writing style and I couldn’t want to see what she had in store for Leonardo (Leo) Chambers and Addison (Addy) Moore and I was not disappointed.
From the first chapter of Miss Hap I was hooked on the story that the author wove. Addy is the office manager working for her grumpy boss, Leo. The sparks fly between these two and I have to say I found myself both laughing, swooning and shaking my head at their relationship.
This is an office romance that ticked all the boxes for me. Leo is a complicated man, one minute growling, the next being caring and protective. They could not be more opposite and yet they really are well suited to one another. The push and pull of their relationship as walls crumbled made for an enjoyable read.
I really liked Addy, she has insecurities, but she is determined to live life to the fullest and do the best she can at work and it was heartwarming to see her come into her own with Leo’s help.
This is a beautifully written, heart warming romance with characters who were easy to relate to and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

Addison and Leo meet on a plane where she proves to be sassy and accident prone. His brother invites her to interview at their company after seeing Addy put Leo in his place. She ends up hired to run his office and quickly makes changes to improve things. But then the date from hell happens, and she ends up at his house. Disaster strikes in a painful way, and his words are extra hurtful. Then disaster strikes again on their redo. That leads to a serious discussion about what they want and how to achieve it. But bad luck and heartbreak are still coming. Be prepared to cry.
I love this series, and this book was really great at pulling in the reader. This book will break your heart before putting it back together. I appreciate how the author didn't magically fix his sleeping problems but worked it out in a way that was realistic.
Reading this authors books always takes me to my happy place . I know I will never be disappointed, & I most definitely wasn’t with Leo and Addison’s story .
Such amazing characters, with a sublime storyline .
Leo is an introvert, who’s guilt , & nightmares from his time in the military, keep him closed off to others . Even his family, who he loves dearly , don’t know about his suffering.
Addison has been told , all through her life , that she is unlucky, & bad things happen to because of that . Who tells her this ? her parents . She’s not backward in coming forward , she won’t put up with other people’s nonsense, but has always believed that when things don’t go well for her it’s because she is cured with bad luck .
Leo and Addisons first meeting doesn’t go smoothly….. neither does the second ….. or even third , but Lady Luck brought them together for a reason , & that reason is because they are perfect for each other .
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had the right amount of sass and comedy to make me keep wanting more. Leo had a so much guilt from his past that he couldn't see what was right in front of him. He was a man that always thought he didn't deserve anything in life. He was so caring but didn't think he should be on the receiving end. He didn't want to have a relationship, but his actions spoke volumes that he did. Addy was use to being expected to live between the lines of what everyone else thought she should do. She just wanted to have her own life and bam that brought her into Leo's life. No, it wasn't an instant connection and the way she handled herself is where the comedy came in for me. Have you ever wished you can say what you are thinking? Well Addy does. The two of these have the crazies plan, but to them it makes sense. When you read this you are taking on a ride that is so entertaining and these characters could not be any better matched.
Miss Hap by Aubrey Bondurant is the eighth book in The Miss Series and it was ahhhmazing! Even though it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. All I can say is that this series continues to get better and better. Ms. Bondurant continually amazes me with her writing and her imagination.
Leo and Addy have to be two of my most favorite characters. They are so different from one another but the chemistry between them is undeniable. A chance meeting changes everything for them and starts a series of events (or mishaps) that neither of them will ever be the same. I absolutely adored Leo and his grumpy ways. He was so much more than what he showed everyone. Addy was the absolute sweetest heroine. Together, they heated up the pages and I honestly never wanted their story to end. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Bondurant comes up with next! Highly recommend reading this book!
Another very good book in the Miss series. I have enjoyed them all.
This one is about Leo who has decided that he does not deserve love of any sort-he will stay a bachelor forever and just have one night stands or encounters with no attachments.
Also Addy, who has been burned before and grown up with a lifetime of bad luck that is always rubbed in her face. She thinks she is not loveable and destined to be single forever.
When these two meet it is a series of unfortunate events that ensue.
Slowly these two find a common ground and things start changing between them.
It’s a wonderful story filled with humor, bad luck and a grumpster who finds his match.
Aubrey did it again I didn’t think I would love this book as much as I did and I promise it was well worth the wait. This just might be my new favorite for the series. I absolutely loved Leo and Addy’s story.
I laughed so hard I cried and I teared up a few times screaming at Leo to get it together. Overall this book was amazing.
I couldn’t relate to Addy more, she was accident prone and finally living her for which I loved. Leo was McGrump and a dark haired Thor with piercings and tattoos. Yum.
I had so much fun reading this book! I just loved Leo and Addy. Their banter was hysterical and their chemistry explosive. There were so many funny moments in this book, but some serious ones too. My heart broke for both of them. I loved how involved Leo's brother Nic was involved in their story. I'm so happy with how Leo and Addy's story progressed and ended. I was sad to see their story come to an end, but I'm hoping for more of them in the next book!! These Miss books are some of my favorite reads and couples!!

Wow what a book I loved it, Aubrey you have written a fantastic book.
Leo and Addy characters where a delight to read.
Leo the ex military hunk of a guy and the feisty Addy with a habit of having Mishap and you guessed it there first meet when poor had a mishap and the spark flew.
We got to see if these two could be together even though there both try to keep a part.
Addy i loved her parent not so much and Leo Ex military who had scars you not fall for him
This book had me laughing so hard! I thought I was clumsy and then here comes our FMC to prove me wrong. The way the MMC is able to still fall in love with her is both romantic and inspiring. They have both gone through a hard road to get where they are but they truly deserve it. I highly recommend this book just for the comedic factor alone. The romance is also really well done and keeps you guessing.
First of all, this was probably Audrey's best one yet! I have read all 7 books, and this one is spectacular! The story includes Brooke, Lucas, Dominic, and Kelsey from the previous storyline. The story is longer than most of the others but so well written that it just flows. You feel Addy's & Leo's feelings/turmoils.
Addy and Leo are a match made in heaven. Just make sure you have a box of tissues.
A dangerprone Addison becomes an office manager at a security firm run by 2 brothers; Leo is former military and suffers from PTSD and has survivor's guilt. She and Leo get together in the strangest of ways involving an arranged marriage, pregnancy and miscarriage; then he breaks up with her. Eyeroll, but he's mentally suffering and won't seek help.
There's still something enjoyable about the writing here despite my eyeroll. I needed an epilogue.
This was such an AMAZING read!! I absolutely adored Ally and Leo. The bring grumpy/sunshine and ALL THE FEELS so hard! This book is going to pull you right in, steal your breath, melt your heart and leave you swooning with an intoxicating blend of Emotion, humor, drama, heart and heat. This is my freely posted, frank review.
I love this author. Her stories are always so great, one thing you can say he didn't fall in love with her immediately, she was intrigued but didn't think either one of them were their type. It was sad in some parts he had PTS and didn't think he'd deserved happiness. Love the story.
Ive read every book in the miss series and have enjoyed EVERY single one. Miss Hap is no exception, i gobbled Leo and Addy’s book up in two days and i loved every minute of it.
Miss Hap can be read as a stand alone, but you’ll want to read them all.
Just when I think I couldn't love the Miss Series more, Aubrey Bondurant brings us Addy. Addy is every single woman who has ever let words beat her down. From those who should love her most to people who only see one tiny part of her (usually her little mishaps), the words have buried themselves into her head and heart, to the point where she begins to believe that all she was, is or ever will be is an accident waiting to happen. At first look Leo is the strong, silent, SUPER grumpy type but you soon learn that there is so much more to him. Sometime, you need to let others into your heart and minds in order to find the future that is waiting for you. I felt the chemistry from these two jump off the page.
On the fence about this one. Like most of the books in the series, it’s got bites in it that are great and I enjoyed reading but some bits are just too ‘yeah right’ moments
I love a meet-not-so-cute, and I love an office romance. This just worked on all levels for me. AB is a very good writer...great characters, plots that move at just the right pace, satisfying conflicts and endings. Thoroughly enjoyable.
3.7 stars! I enjoyed this one and the characters. Honestly Leo was def a difficult character for me bc he wouldn’t communicate, but not ended up working out!
Miss Hap is another entertaining story from the office romances in the Miss Series and this time it’s Leonardo (Leo) Chambers and Addison (Addy) Moore’s story. Leo and Addy find themselves sitting next to each other on a flight to Vegas after Addy gets a bump on the head from another passenger and what follows is a heartwarming, entertaining journey that had me laughing out loud one moment and holding my breath the next. Addy finds herself working for grumpy Leo and she does everything she can to make her job as his office manger fun and bright but this man is a complicated man and as these two get closer she struggles to get to the bottom of the secrets he hides so well. So could she be the sunshine in this man’s dark world…..one click now to find out. Miss Hap ticked all my boxes, I swooned, I sighed, I smiled and I cheered this couple on but what made it a special read was Ms Bondurant’s way with words, she draws you in and she gives you characters you bond with. This heartwarming story is a perfect addition to the series and I’m excited for what’s to come.
Addy and Leo are a great couple, from the beginning to the end of the book. Their intense attraction, despite their differences, made for great banter between them. While reading, there were times I found myself laughing out loud. If your looking for a fun read, with lots of emotion, then this one is for you.
Yes!!! Yes!!! Yesssss!!!!! Leo and Addy are a perfect match! From the beginning they are so opposite that they are freaking perfect! And I love how he has the family that she is in desperate need of too! And she owns that Miss Hap title to a T. This girl couldn't seem to get anything right! And yet, despite his frustration with her being a "hot mess" she couldn't resist her! The number of times I laughed while reading about these 2 was just too many to count! And the tears! I cried! Not ugly cry, but a few tears rolled down my cheeks! And I feel like Addy stayed true to herself through it all..... such a great book! And a great lesson is looking at the brighter side of things!
