As with all things Star Wars, there's always a great set of 'making of' material that gives you further insight into this universe. Here, an "Art of" for one of the best games of 2023 follows suit and is a recommended buy for any Star Wars fan (even if you have not played the game!).

The book is divided into two parts: first being the characters of the game and then a section on each location in which the game takes place. Of these, the locations appeal to me more as they give glimpses into the wider world of Star Wars. I did like the alternative designs for the characters though those sections could have used more information as to why the final model was selected.

The art itself is gorgeous, which is what I expected as the game itself is gorgeous. As a minor gripe I would have liked to see a bit more of the work-in-progress versions - almost everything here is already polished which makes everything look 'similar.'

The most interesting part I found was the inclusion of High Republic era styles and architecture (and even characters) - before now only seen in a visual form in comic books. While the High Republic era has not really grabbed my attention at any point, I do love the visual design for it and getting more insight here is very cool.

All in all, you can't go wrong with this if you liked the game and this is a good buy for any fan of Star Wars. Reading this could make you think of picking up the game, which I also highly recommend. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Jedi Survivor is not only one of my favorite video games, but also one of my favorite Star Wars stories. I loved seeing all the stunning artwork and the accompanying commentary, but I would have appreciated more insights into the creative process and some of the narrative and character development choices.

Awesome art book for the Second Star Wars Jedi game. Be warned that if you haven't played the games, there are spoilers contained within.
