Though I got through it, I skipped parts, and I feel this is one of those essential tomes that will be read over and over. I am calling it "read" as of today, but this one will live on.
Although I read this when working on my 48 that I completed in 2018, I decided to re-read this book this year. The history they have for each mountain is unbelievable. I also enjoyed reading about the other trail options for the mountains I want to hike again. This is a book I'll keep forever and return to often.
This is an excellent overview of White Mountain hikes for the peak-baggers out there. While you can find trail descriptions in many other works, the authors have also collected interesting nuggets of history for each peak as well tidbits about the 4000 footer club. It is focused on the peaks with the authors providing details about various approaches. This is a book I'll keep dipping in as the 48-peak quest continues...
