Noah Wright and his friends are regulars at the Sally West, a rock dive in Bar Harbor, and they try to make all the shows that come through town. But the Sally is also a good place just to shoot some pool and have a drink. On one of these nights, Noah has a chance encounter with the lead singer of a local band, Tanis Ransom. He decides to try to pick her up with a bad line, bringing back to life an old bet he and his friends had once made. Not expecting it to work, he doesn't consider the ramifications of his little stunt.

Noah has a girlfriend he thinks is perfect. So why is he still flirting with other women? Well, that's just what he does. And before he knows what's happening, Tanis is falling for him. And he's falling too.

This is a story about new love, and Noah's desire to keep it new. It is also the story of Tanis Ransom and her quick ascension to rock greatness. Noah must learn to navigate the obstacles he has placed in his own way, and come to terms with the consequences of playing with live hearts.

About the author

Brandon Spacey

Brandon has almost always been a writer. Since grade school, when teachers would assign book reports and creative writing essays, he has always loved to express himself with the written word. That still holds today. He has filled journals with poetry and prose, written hundreds of short stories and even wrote on several popular weblogs for many years. It is the one avenue in which he finds complete freedom for the release of emotional tension - including just the need to create.

Now in his middle-age years, he mostly focuses on his novels. The universe he has created over the span of his books is at once sweetly malleable and perfectly cozy: there's nowhere he won't take his characters. But it is also consistent. No one book contradicts any other - and some characters cross the boundaries from book to book, making it a homely and familiar place for his readers

Be it a dive to the depths of the Challenger Deep in a cold steel sphere or a brief visit with a recently deceased but reawakened cadaver, his characters are comfortable finding - or creating, if necessary - the science to make it happen. And Brandon feels right at home letting them tell their stories.

He lives in Dallas, Texas.

GAHHHH.
Okay full disclosure, I'm friends with the author. And he's lucky because otherwise I would have given him 3 stars. This is the most emotionally and sexually tense book I've ever read. I feel so drained. Not at all how I hoped it would end. I'm dying. Fuck this book. Seriously, I hope not all your books end like this, Spacey.

Good thing though, is I couldn't put it down. So there's that.

Loved this story that had all the emotions. Everyone can relate to someone in this book. I love that the two main characters fall in love surrounded by music and their love for it. Reminds me of a couple I know. Thank you, Brandon Spacey, for the honesty and love you presented in this novel.
