As the bond between them deepens, Dylan uncovers a shocking secret that threatens everything he thought he knew. Can he find the courage to tell Heaven the truth? Or will looming threats and hidden dangers tear the two apart?

From the good reviews this book received I had high hopes for this story. What I ended up with, however, was a confusing, inconsistant, tedious, disjointed, sweet but very long-winded story. To be honest, this book didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I did love the book's hero, Dylan, though. I felt he was a wonderfully fleshed out character with a lot of charm. Other than that, and the little splash of steam, there wasn't much about this story I connect with or enjoyed. I guess this is one of those books everyone loved but me.

Warning you may need a cold shower after reading this book.
This book is for those who love a real romance story. Your blood will pump, your heart will soar and you will shed a tear.
Dylan and Heaven were both born 21 years ago on the same day. They have been in each others dreams since they were children. They are soulmates and are deeply connected to each other, though they have never met.
All Dylan dreams of is one day finding the girl who who fills his soul and has his heart aching. Heaven cant stop thinking of the boy with the espresso colored eyes in her dreams. Imagine Dylans surprise when he walks into his best mates wedding and finds Heavan there. He knows its her, the girl from his dreams. His body burns and his heart aches just to be near her. But Heavan doesnt know its her dark eyed boy from her dreams. She quickly decides she has no interest in Dylan, the bad boy rock star. She knows how those boys are. But she cant help the feeling that there is something about him and the pull she feels towards him.

This is a wonderful paranormal romance. And Im a huge sucker for a romance. It's full of passion, love and tender moments and I was glued to reading it, wanting to know all about Dylan and Heaven's love story. There were a couple of scenes that left me feeling like I needed a cold shower. Wow Dylan is a love machine and he left me all hot and flustered many times. He also has a beautiful soul, and you cant help but love him. Heaven is equally easy to love.
I just devoured this story. There were highs and lows for Dylan and Heavan and an an amazing story behind their connection. I cant wait for book 2!! I will just eat it up!! I miss Dylan and Heaven already.

I dare you not to swoon over this
She couldn't decide which was sweeter; the way his eyes burned into her or the tiny curve at the corner of his mouth. Her eyes lingered on his lips. Yep. His mouth definitely had her heart soaring. The thought of his lips caressing her body.....

And I dare you not to get all flustered over this
His hand touched her hip, underneath her dress. It lingered there, caressing the skin beneath it. He pulled his lips from hers, planted them on the soft spot under her ear, near her jaw. Sweet sandlewood rushed through his nose. He wanted her right now, fought the urge to rip the panties from her hips and plunge into her.
*fans flushed cheeks*

An utterly wonderful read, and I feel like reading it again right now.

Book #1 in the Soulmate series, What the Heart Wants keeps the reader captivated.

Heaven and her twin sisters are on the way to attend her best friend’s wedding and the band of boys who are friends of the groom is a welcome distraction. But Dylan and Heaven are in for a shock of their lives as they discover the truth about their haunting and recurring dreams.

The series has begun well, and the intensity of Dylan’s love for Heaven and their soulmate connection was described beautifully. But and that is a BIG BUT for me, how is it that even after finding your soulmate, a connection is felt for another individual, doesn’t that spoil the whole sense of what ‘soulmate’ is? OR is it the case of team Edward and Team Jacob a la Twilight and the connection is some other thing? This is just the first book in the series and I have a long way to go, so I would prefer to reserve judgment for the time being.

The friendship and camaraderie of the friends were easy to relate to and I loved how the author twines the thread of discord among the sisters, Dylan’s relationship with his father and the antagonist that adds a darker shade to this fantasy tale.

Looking forward to continuing the series.

Blurb:
A recurrent dream. A fated encounter. A destiny neither can deny.

Heaven Lewis needs a break—from college, from relationships, from her life. After arriving in L.A., her vacation plans are thwarted by chaos. Encountering a celebrity wasn't on her to-do list. Neither is dating him. But the more time they spend together, the more his soul speaks to hers.

Dylan McBride is desperate to find the girl haunting his dreams. When he meets Heaven, her presence calls to his soul, awakening a desire so primal, he struggles to control it. A simple glance, a tender touch, even the sound of her voice electrifies his body. As much as he craves her, there’s more than lust drawing them together. Dylan can sense Heaven’s emotions.

As the mysterious connection between them deepens, Dylan uncovers a secret that proves his and Heaven’s destinies intertwine. Yet telling her the truth won’t be easy. Outside influences threaten to keep them apart, and a horrific encounter puts Heaven in danger. Dylan must find the courage to tell her the truth or risk losing the woman whose fate is linked to his.

What the Heart Wants is the first installment in the Soulmate Series. If you like captivating romances with suspense, soulmates, and supernatural twists, you’ll love Kelli McCracken’s compelling take on love, fate, and destiny.

I'm at work right this second exhausted because I had to stay up till I was done reading this book. Every time I put it away and tried to get some sleep all I could think about was Dylan (sigh). This book was seriously fantastic, in 2011 Fifty Shades Darker was my favorite book of the year (and I read a lot of books before making that decision), but if Ms. McCracken keeps up this kind of story with the 2nd book in the "Soulmate" series Fifty may have some serious competition. I was a tad ticked that B&N nor Google ebboks had the book but Amazon was ok.

Okay so this book is so different from anything else I've ever read. I had no idea when I started what I was going to get to read.

The book starts with Heaven flying out to L.A. with her two sisters, who just happen to be triplets, (I'm actually thinking this could be significant later) to meet up with her best friend. She can sense something is up with Chelsea, but she has a few secrets of her own too. See, Heaven has been having dreams about this guy. When she wakes up from each dream, they are so life like, it's almost like it was real. She can't really see his face completely in the dream, but his eyes and lips seem to draw her in. Matter of fact, he's all she can think about. To a point, it's almost a distraction, and everyone around her is starting to notice.

Dylan, is a rock star. He's taking a few months off from touring, and the first thing he has to do is attending one of his band members weddings. He's actually dreading the wedding, because honestly he wants the same as Kyle. He is tried of playing the field and just wants to settle down and be a one woman man. But the problem is he knows exactly what woman he wants, she's just a little unavailable. As in, he only can see her in his dreams. But, she's all he can think about, and he's determined to find her. He just has know idea she's right around the bend, so to speak.

I admit, I started this during the holiday season and it took me forrrr-eva to read it. Part of it was because I just didn't have as much time to read, and the other part was I would go to bed each night so tired I just couldn't stay awake any more to read. But if I'm being 100% honest, it took me a little while to actually get into the book. Heaven and Dylan were both in their own heads a lot, and that seemed to make certain parts of the book drag out a bit. I think, if maybe some of this could have been edited out, the book may have held my attention better, maybe. And while I'm on the negative, I just have to say I can't stand Faith. I think she's up to something, but I'm not completely sure what it is.

Like I said before though, this book was so different. The book didn't really start out as a paranormal type read. I mean rock stars and weddings, don't usually seem like paranormal type read, but the second 1/2 or so of the book almost seemed to turn directions. I was shocked how much by the second half of the book I was so into it. I literally had to force myself to put it down, because my son had to go back to school this morning and I knew I was going to be exhausted if I didn't go to sleep. I just didn't know what was going to happen next and I NEEDED TO KNOW, lol.

I can't wait for the next book. I have to admit, I cheated and read the synopsis of the next few books and I can just tell this story is going to get so much more intense. I can't wait to see how it all fits together, and how the connection affects everything. Whoohoo!! :)

Well I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was left feeling like I needed to cool down quite a bit!!! I blushed and swooned over Dylan and Heaven's relationship and was constantly pleading that they would just get it on!!! I did find it a little slow to start but once I reached halfway...BOOM! I could't put it down!! I recommend this book to anyone who is looking to be swept up in pure romance with a touch of paranormal. But be warned, you will need some ice to cool down your senses!!! HOT HOT HOT!!!

I received this book by the author which I thought was amazing! This book has it all drama, friendship, relationships and some really hot scenes. The characters were very relateable and you felt for them. There are some unanswered questions at the end that I hope get answered. The love between the characters was amazing and something everyone wants. But amazingly the author didn't make it mushy and fake like I know I've read plenty of times. So all in all this book was amazing and is a must read.

‘True warm and fuzzy, sigh worthy romance,’ the kind you won’t admit you’ve dreamed of, pretty much describes What the Heart Wants by Kelli McCracken. I mean, seriously, even the author’s name sounds all soft and romantic heroine-like! Imagine two people, who have never met, both wanting that special love that happens only once. Now, imagine them each dreaming of the other for years, yes, years and then one day, fate brings them together, face to face and only one of them KNOWS without a doubt that the other is their heart’s destiny. Heaven, Hope and Faith are triplets, different as night and day, each are totally loveable, but this is Heaven’s story. Dylan is a rock star, with the heart of a poet, who has dreamed of his perfect lover all of his life and the dreams are getting more frequent and more intense. At a fellow band member’s wedding, he is the reluctant “date” for the bride’s best friend who is an unknown entity to him. And. Then. He. Sees. Her. Heaven is the woman in his dreams, his soulmate, his heart’s desire. Heaven has been having romantic dreams, too, but all she sees is a vague dreamlike vision of a man with deep expresso eyes, and then she meets Dylan, deciding, in spite of some special connection to him, to avoid the rock star with the ‘bad boy’ label. But can she? What is it about him that makes her heart overrule her head? Can Dylan reign in his heart and take it slow when all he wants is to hold her close?
The pace of this book matched perfectly with the love, it was gentle and flowing. Both Dylan and Heaven had me in their corner from the start. When the reason for their connection is revealed, I swear I got all teary-eyed, it pulled at my heart of hearts that much.
Kelli McCracken has written one of the most captivating romances I have ever read. The touch of the paranormal, the prophetic dreams, the beautiful way with words that Kelli McCracken has all come together in a truly special and memorable tale that will leave you all warm and happy inside. I could not put this down, I was so wrapped up in the cocoon of this book. Was there a downside to this book? Yep, it ended, leaving both me and my Kindle semi-melted into a puddle of goo!

3.5 stars.

Ok, so it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't great either. I kinda found the whole, "I've had dreams about you all my life, we're soulmates" thing a bit cheesey. The whole book was all about this special connection the two main characters had. It became repetitive, every chapter sstarted to sound similar. Plus, it left me with so many unanswered questions. Why was Layne acting weird? What was the story behind Heaven and her ex? Zeke was a creep, yes, but what gave Heaven the impression he would stalk her (over react much?)? Granted, he did turn out to be one, but did I miss something? Too many holes in the story. I mean, I know this will be a series, but this first book had so much potential. I just wished the author made her point faster and focused more on developing the upcoming plots. I don't know. I wished I liked it more, but I did like it enough to consider reading the sequel. Great effort though. :)

Wow....I don't really know how to express how much I liked this book. Dylan and Heaven's story is wonderful. I enjoyed the fact that their relationship grew over time (once they met)...need to read to understand that comment:) I know this states that it is a paranormal love story, but I didn't think the paranormal aspect overpowered the love story at all. It just enhanced it. I enjoyed this paranormal aspect because it is something I haven't read before. I am kind of sick of reading about Vampires and Werewolves, it was nice to read about something completely different. This is the 1st book in her Soulmates Series and I thought it was wonderful, I can't wait for book 2 to be released. Kelli did leave this with a little bit of a cliffhanger, but it isn't that bad to not read the book. Just keeps me waiting for the next one:) I would definitely recommend this book.

4.5 What a beautiful book! I was struggling to put it down to get some things done around the house. This was so sweet and when all the pieces came together wow! I loved how their bond was described and the reason behind all of it. Of course at the end there are questions that are not answered and then there was the Mick issue that was never discussed. Of course now we know that there is trouble up ahead for Heaven and Dylan in the next book thanks to the last page. I want more now..

Very sweet romance between Heaven and Dylan. The ending blew my mind! Who was it? What's going to happen next? Ms. McCracken better get to cracking on the second book because I'm left by too many unanswered questions! I really enjoyed the soulmate concept she developed. Without giving away spoilers...man they are one connected couple!

This was an ok read for me there were bits that I loved and bits that I didn't really connect with, the story seemed to drag out for the first two thirds then it was rushed at the end. The connection between the two main characters was good. All in all just ok not really my cup of tea.

I’m not sure if I would have picked up this book if I hadn’t been given an ARC, however the concept did sound interesting so I was quite curious where this would go. So when I finished my book for the N.E.W.T.’s for today I gave this one a go.

But I have to admit that this was not my kind of story. The concept is still intriguing and interesting. However the interesting aspects play a very small role in the whole. Too small for me. I would have loved a little more paranormal elements and a little less teenage love drama. Especially because a lot of problems and issues could have been prevented if the characters had just talked with each other.

It’s very clearly a case where the issue is a personal issue and not so much an issue with the book itself. The story is well written with a lot of focus on the emotions and individual characters. We get to know Dylan and Heaven very well and the important pieces of the puzzle fall into place quite nicely. And if you don’t read the last paragraph, it works very well as a stand alone too.

I can imagine that in the next books the supernatural aspect might be a little more prominent, but I also have the feeling that the love drama will increase and continue too. If you’re into well written and emotional teenage love drama you’ll surely enjoy this book. I will however not continue this series. For personal reasons, not because it’s bad.

Review on my blog:my link text

So I guess I'm a little biased when I say this book is amazing because I love soul-mates. It's absolutely my favorite think to read about. However, thinking about it, I have to say that even if you aren't a die-hard fan for soul-mates you will still find this book great.
Dylan is a rockstar and he has been dreaming of a girl that he calls his angel, but he pretty much convinced himself that she can't be real. Heaven has been dreaming of a boy with espresso eyes and dark hair, but she's convinced he doesn't exist. However, this changes for both of them when Heaven is the maid of honor at her best friends wedding and Dylan is the best man. Dylan knows right away that Heaven is his angel, but Heaven, never actually seeing the face of the boy in her dreams, feels an undeniable pull towards Dylan. Dylan starts pursuing Heaven, but she can't be sure if he is actually interested or is he doing simply because he wants one thing and it's not her heart. Will she realize her love for him? Will Dylan be able to convince her they are meant to be?
So I totally loves the characters. Even though Dylan is a rockstar, he acts nothing like one. He didn't even date because he was looking for the right girl. He is caring and sweet and well hot and well he isn't perfect. There are parts written from his perspective and what goes through his head makes him really easy to relate to and makes him appear human. He is also super protective of Heaven which is really sweet.
Heaven is an amazing character. She is helpful and smart and kind and she faced some pretty tough situations with her crazy stalker ex-boyfriend. She doesn't jump straight into a relationship, but when she does she is dedicated and just the perfect girlfriend. She isn't one of those heroines that you want to slap because they are so stupid. She also isn't stubborn to the point where you want to reach into the book and give her a good push and a slap across the face for being so stubborn. She is really good towards her sisters and is used to taking the back seat to let her sister Faith get the attention, which is why she is a little shy with all the attention she gets from Dylan in the beginning.
The plot wasn't anything extraordinary, don't get me wrong it was really good but the romance and the relationship between Heaven and Dylan really makes the book. So the plot has the typical dealing with paparazzi, dating a celebrity, getting rid of a guy you don't like...oh and finding your boyfriend is the guy you have been dreaming about since birth.
So yeah the plot was kind predictable but the romance was literally to die for so if soul-mates is your type of thing definitely check out this book.

I came across a preview of What the Heart Wants a few months ago. From the very first line the story got my attention. I couldn't wait for the story to come out. I was not disappointed by the story. I got the story from Kelli McCraken for free for an honest review. I loved What The Heart Wants and can't wait for the second book. I couldn't put this book down, it was like watching a movie that you get sucked into and don't want it to end.
I love the concept of soulmates and how Kelli McCraken developed the story. Heaven & Dylan are soulmates, they have dreamed about each other since they were children without having ever met. They're connection goes back to their birth. There's a magnetic pull between Dylan & Heaven once they meet that is so unique. There's a unique story behind Heaven and her sisters birth. It's also the how Heaven was given her name. Her sisters names are Faith and Hope, they're triplets. I liked the names of the girls especially Heaven's which is very unique.
There are some questions that are left unanswered but will probably be dealt with in the second book. I hope to read more about Faith, she has a strong personality and she's probably the type of character most love to hate because she's so out spoken and such a pain. Unlike her sisters who are swee. Faith doesn't play around, she immediately hooks up with Dylan's best friend Layne who seems to have eyes for Heaven. Heaven seems to attract psychos. She has an ex who is talked about being a psycho but not much is clear about what happened there. Dylan seems to be the only guy that is normal that is attracted to Heaven. Can't wait to find out if Layne will make a move on Heaven or if Faith might have a surprise for him. This is sweet, funny, romantic story and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to read it again.

MUST READ !!!!!!

Heaven (OMG love that name) is in L.A. for the weekend to attend her bestfriends wedding along with her sisters Faith, and Hope who also happen to be her triplets and during the wedding recital she meets,Dylan who she instantly feels connected to and feels like she knows him from somewhere

But what Heaven doesn't know is that Dylan feels the same way and that the first time Dylan saw Heaven he instantly knew that she is the girl of his dream literally the girl of his dreams.
Dylan has been dreaming about Heaven for the past six months and he feels like he's missing a part of his heart until he meets Heaven, now all Dylan has to do is man up and tell Heaven how he feels but it's not as easy as he thinks because Dylan is afraid that Heaven doesn't feel the same way.

Will Dylan get over his fears and tell Heaven how he feels or will he let his fears ruin everything?

OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK!
Dylan is just OMG there is no word to describe him he's just perfect in the best way. The way Dylan and Heaven interact you could tell right away they are meant to be together forever and whatI love best about the book is how Dylan and Heaven came to be soul mate, I swear I was literally crying during some parts especially when the book switched to Dylan POV gah I wish the whole book would have been in Dylan's POV the way his mind worked and the way he feels is just inspiring and it has me wishing for true love.
I'm glad I read this book I almost didn't because the cover just didn't do it for me,so if your holding back on reading this book because of the cover don't because the book's AMAZING!

What the Heart Wants is a beautiful story about a soul deep connection between two people that was forged through dreams. I love romance and the notion that there is one person that your soul reaches out too. Heaven has been dreaming of a dark haired boy embracing her under a weeping willow tree for the past six months. The dreams are so real and so romantic she compares every guy she meets to her dream guy. Dylan has been dreaming of a beautiful girl under the same tree and recognizes her instantly when she turns up at his band-mates wedding. Heaven is the maid of honor and isn't sure that Dylan is her dream guy. Dylan is afraid to move too fast and that he will scare her off or think he is nuts. The result is a moving romance that had me swooning and reading way past my bedtime.

Dylan is a swoon worthy and it is such a shame he's a fictional character. I think he beats Edward hands down. I don't think I have ever read a better scene than the night they stay in the guest house and decide to be a couple. This is such a great book it is very hard to do it justice in a review. I highly recommend this book to romance lovers of all ages. Altough there are some paranormal elements of soul connection and tarot cards, it was a relief to read a romance that the main male character doesn't turn all furry or suck blood. Don't get me wrong- I love the paranormal but this story will stay with you long after you put the book down. It has definitely made my keeper shelf.

My heart did melt when he cried for her.

I love the sexy cover.<3
I love the fitting title.<3
I love the alternating POV.<3
I love the interesting plot.<3
I love the intriguing characters.<3
I love the uniqueness of this book.<3
I love books with soul-mate themes. <3
and mostly, I love what Dylan and Heaven have.<3

Just LOVE the whole package. I <3 this novel. b(*o*)d

Now that I think about it, I only read a few books with guys who really cried hard for their other half. All of the things Dylan did to Heaven was just heart melting! Most especially the part where he cried for her hard, my heart goes out to him. That's my # 1 favorite scene in the entire book.<3 The emotions he shed just for her is just too much to my already melting heart. I think that's a very manly move Dylan! ;)

Though the novel started a bit slow for me but it changed when I reached a certain chapter that made my heart swoon with delight. After that, I almost couldn't put it down. I love the development of the story afterwards and undeniable love between the two main leads. I'm waiting to see what will happen in the next book.

hmmm..I did mention a lot of hearts on my review. Yeah, it's raining hearts if Dylan and Heaven are involve! <3

Kelli McCracken starts her Soulmate Series with a BANG! What the Heart Wants is an amazing modern day love story that every girl/woman will enjoy. It has realistic drama points to keep your heart pounding and moments of apprehension to keep you reading for the calming point.

I love the tarot card twist. Not many writers take the standpoint of Fate through Tarot, and I myself don't necessarily believe in Tarot reading, but I LOVE the concept and the road that Kelli went down with it.

Do you believe in soulmates? You will after this...and a few tears. Yes, I cried. It was a good cry; the kind that comes from beautiful astonishment and awe. Yes Kelli, you made a beautiful thing with this book.

Awesome plot, fantastic characters, truly unique twists and turns. Take the journey, read What the Heart Wants, and prepare yourself for book #2!

Normally I am the one who has a problem with love at first sight but in this instance I was convinced. I liked the circumstances that had dylan and heaven drawn to each other. The way it played out was great.
I still had questions in parts of the story that the author hinted at secrets in the lives of some of the characters. Those secrets weren't revealed in this book but I think we will find out in the next one. I know I want answers so I will be coming back for more.
I thought this was a great book with a romantic story of finding your soul mate. I was convinced and was engaged in the story all the way through. I never got bored and at times wished that I could read faster to get to the next scene. I was thoroughly entertained and that is all I can ask for in reading.

I liked this book, i thought story and how the main characters met was interesting.
There wasnt much of the paranormal aspect of being soul mates, which i think is a really cool topic especially how this author explains it, so that was a bit disapointing but otherwise it was a good book.
I also wanted to find out more about her sisters relationships especially Faith and Laynes, hopefully there is a next book as the end was kinda of creepy but intriguing.

Wow is what I can say about this book. From every page turn, Kelli McCracken has you on the edge of your seat and really thinking. I fell in love with the characters and could picture everything that was happening. It was an easy and fast read. I couldn't put it down and the ending made me wanting more from the story. I'm looking forward to Book 2 in the Soulmate Series!

Alllllrightie then....gonna pound out this review at one oclock in the morning. First and foremost as an avid reader of the the paranormal...this wasn't overtly paranormal....at all...well there is a little but not a whole lot which isn't i sweat the reason i gave it a three stars i promise! i just wanted to put that warning out for people looking for a super paranormal read or people who dislike paranormal reads... so there you have that....moving on to the actual review

So first thoughts I liked it. It was good i am not going to lie but honestly? sometimes i was waiting of those heart pounding, oh my god i am about to die moments. And there were some trust me, but at the same time there wasn't an whole lot of it. I think that it was a really good read but unfortunately pretty predictable... i actually guessed a quite a few twist in the book. Though the paranormal aspect did throw me through a loop that was interesting....

Okay, okay moving on to plot: well like i said before its pretty predictable, and there were a lot of references to the past, only....they were half references... don't understand what i mean? well here is an example... not from this book or anything just an example in general... EX: "hey you remember that time when John came and..." "Oh my god don't remind me!" ....end of example... wondering what John did especially since i "told" you about it almost every 50 pages? Well too bad you don't get to find out what John did. Okay so i get there is a second one and we needed SOMETHING to happen in the second one but this "thing" effected Heaven a lot, and i really wanted to know what it was and there was one of the reasons it got a three because i was mad that it kept dangling but never giving, and i know that i would have been sorely pissed if she just brought it up on the second one to make a second one, but i mean you could have mentioned it once in the beginning once at the end to get the beginning of the second started you know? well okay getting off track. But yeah this is a romance and you know what its not a "yeah this is a romance but really its about characters that meet, automatically "love" each other and are going to have sex" romance, its a honest to God, we are going to go through stuff together and all that romance... don't worry there is two sex scenes and if you were waiting for that...but if you are looking for super in depth sex move on.

Okay so moving on to characters!

Heaven: She is our lead lady, and while she was really well written i don't know the characters felt a little flat for me...all of them not just Heaven and it might just be me. And what the hell do i know? i liked Heaven for the most part sometimes she had like bi-polar moments but it was usually when her sisters were around and as a twin myself i can completely relate. i have to sisters i know how it is...okay i am going to stop there before i start ranting in a review about my sisters.....awkward. Anyways back to Heaven she is a sweet girl, really she is. i like that about her that she is sweet but she has different sides to her she isn't one type of girl, she can be brave when she needs to be, vulnerable when you want her to be, and dangerous when she has to be. She thinks things over and she sort of dims down the drama sometimes because she is a smart girl who thinks things through and not like a lot of those ...where was i? phantom bug attack....oh right she isn't like most girls in books that hold grudges for a million of years.

Dylan: Our main man. He was unexpected...When i first found this book which was a couple months ago and its been sitting in my wish list on amazon waiting to be read i thought and one of the reasons i was worried about reading it was that he was a total manwhore and there is one thing i dont like about my leading men is that they are actual manwhores. see i don't mind those fake ones....but for some reason i got in my head that Dylan was going to be the ultimate manwhore and totally just jackass its probably because he is a musician. So when i started reading it and realizing that he wasn't the stereotypical musician i was beyond happy! YAY DOWN WITH STEREOTYPES!...well for the msot part. anywaysssss he is sweet and caring, he wants to have a real relationship with someone. no not someone his dream girl...anyways! he can be aggressive when he needs to be not to her of course but be jealous is what i mean so yay for jello men!

The sisters and there boyfriends....they kind of disappeared half way through the book but i mean it is really Dylan and Heaven's story but man Faith one of the triplets (Heaven's a triplet along with their sister Hope) anyways Faith legit just disappears around i think 3/4s...well a little less than that through the book, not a word, not a peep and i was like...what the hell happened to her because half way through the book not only did the POVs shift from Dylan and Heaven but suddenly you get Faith's and Dylan's best friend Layne's POV which im sorry but bothers me a ton, its a personal thing really but if you are going to do POV shifts then start it at the beginning don't just add them in because it seems like a fun idea or yeah...it just bothers me. Also she does it with Dylan's father....anyways the other characters help the main characters mostly talk through their problems....so they did have their own personalities which made me happy but like i said they started to disappear and all their sides stories didn't seem to really matter and it was left very open ended and i understand its a series...:p

So the ending is a bit cliffhangerish but i think the second one is out if you wants it.

So last thoughts: would i recommend this book for you to read? Sure if you are looking for a romance book with a bit of a paranormal kick, and even if you don't like paranormal or maybe you haven't really tried it out this would be a good start its a light paranormal. Would i recommend you buy this for .99? Sure...or its normal 2.99 yeah why not.

So did you enjoy my review? i thought so you stopped reading this when you got the example about John or the phantom bug attack didn't you? well hey to each their own but IF you enjoyed my thoughts and ramblings and IF you think you could find your next book to read check out my bloggy blog! yup...im that kid at least i am bother you at the end and you don't have to go thats up to you but here is the link: http://theviolethourbookreviews.wordp...

What a great start to this new and interesting read. We all like thinking that if we dream of someone out there that is meant just for us. Well here that actually does come true.

So the story follows along with Heaven and Dylan who they have been dreaming about each other. They have felt, in their dreams, so drawn, and a deep connection with. But it is all dreams right? Well maybe not. What happens when they meet one day?

So I have to say this was so interesting. The chemistry between them was addicting. These two were made for each other, and seeing that connection unfold was satisfying. The pace was good, the characters are interesting and the plot well enough to keep me interested. Overall, this is a great first book in this series and I cannot wait for more.

Fate, destiny or higher power. Call it what you will, but What the Heart Wants is exactly all of that, wrapped up in a beautiful tale that will frustrate you, warm you up and make maybe squeeze a tear out here and there.

Dylan McBride has been dreaming about the same woman for the past six months. Whenever the dream is about to end, and she fades away like an apparition, he feels the tug on his soul, like she's taking a part of him with her. The dreams wouldn't be so bad if he could at least get her to tell him her name, or how he can find her – his angel.

On the other side of the continent, Heaven Lewis has been dreaming about a man with kissable lips and gorgeous, espresso-colored eyes. His presence has always made her feel safe and whole and weak in the knees. Whenever the dreams come to an end, she feels like her heart is being crushed. Too bad her mystery man isn't real.

Heaven and her sisters, Hope and Faith (fraternal triplets) are heading to sunny California to visit Chelsea, Heaven's best friend. What is supposed to be just a visit, turns into a surprise wedding celebration for Chelsea and her famous fiance. The girls meet their dates, close friends of the future groom) at the wedding rehearsal, and they're none other than members of one of the most successful bands around. Heaven's date just so happens to be Dylan. He immediately recognizes her as his dream girl and can't believe she's real. Looks like his fortune-telling mother hit the nail on the head when she gave him that mysterious reading. But how will he win her over in the span of a weekend without coming across at a total psycho? It's not like he can tell her the story about dreams, angels, fate and love. As if her shyness wasn't enough of an obstacle, would his profession, his secrets, a crazy band mate and a misunderstanding be their undoing?

This story was really good, if you like fluffy romance with a hint of fantasy and a lot of drama mixed in. The soulmates aspect helped to speed up the process of Dylan and Heaven falling for one another quickly. Technically, they've known each other for a long time, they just don't know it. Dylan has never been in love, and his last relationship made him realize how unfulfilled his life really was. His career had its benefits, but the strings of gold diggers trying to get to him weren't one of them. He was a wonderful character, strong but gentle, full of passion but sensitive. He was close to perfect.

Dropping his gaze to the floor, he focused on the tiny specs of black fibers woven within the sea of red. How boring it was to study carpet when he wanted to study her.

Heaven was a likeable heroine. She was shy and a bit skittish, but she was capable of showing a backbone when it was necessary. An incident in her past with her "psycho ex boyfriend", Mike, was always hinted at from the very beginning until the end of the story, but it was never fully explained exactly what had happened. I'm guessing that past will come to light in the next book. Her denial of her feelings for Dylan seemed to drag on a little too long for my liking.

"Denial is the roadblock to happiness."

The Lewis Triplets:

Heaven is the shy, untouched one. She's the sweet one in the group, and if I read most of the signs correctly, she's also the one men instantly take notice of.
Hope is the mother hen. While she worries about Heaven a lot, she's the buffer whenever Faith goes off on one of her b*tch trips.

Faith is ... you guessed it, she's the b*tch. She claims she loves her sisters, but she seems too gleeful when she gets a chance to torment Heaven in some way. She's jealous and somewhat hateful of Heaven, mainly because men tend to pay attention to her after they realize they won't get anywhere with the shy sister. She's promiscuous and unapologetic about it.

The band(s) and the members confused me to the point of distraction. When Chelsea introduces her fiance, it's Kyle Winters, lead singer of Long Cold Winter. But the majority of all the other men mentioned in this story belong to the band Sliders, yet it always seemed as if they were all a part of the same band. Here's the breakdown:

Sliders:
Dylan McBride – lead vocalist, guitarist
Layne Perry – drummer
Scott – lead guitarist
Jerry – second guitarist

Long Cold Winter:
Kyle Winters – lead vocalist
Zeke Landon – drummer

Why two bands and not just one to keep things simple? After all, these are a lot of characters to follow in the first book alone.

The story is also told from three different POVs – Heaven's, Dylan's and Layne's. Why Layne? The glimpses into his mind made me look at him as a simpleton. What else can be expected of a man who only has sex on the brain?

"My intentions are honorable," Layne replied, though he knew it was a lie. But Hope didn't. Faith wouldn't. Not if he was reading her like the open book she appeared to be.

He loved a good book.

"Yeah, well, I doubt my sister's intentions are, so wear a condom. My parents will flip if she comes back home with your seed in her garden. Auntie Hope will come knocking on your door."

There are some interesting twists and turns in this story, a few questions that remain unanswered, but overall their connection is something we've all dreamed about having. If you don't like books that end on a cliffhanger, you may want to wait until the second book is released sometime this year.
