He is a past president of both Mystery Writers of America and Private Eye Writers of America. A fairly entertaining series to read, I would recommend giving it a try. I have read 8 of the books.

So stereotyped offensively, it does nothinbg but speak if the author's biases. Absolutely no depth. Stopped reading it.

Fred Carver is a great character and this is a fun read.
