PROMESAS
4° Serie Multiautor "Romantísima"
Promises

Ella estaba embarazada aunque temía no poder.

Wow, so I told all my friends who recommended this to me that, although I very much enjoyed this book, it would prob not get the top rating for me but, you know, my mind was changed not long before the end of the book.
I have never, ever, read, nor have I ever been interested in reading any books with a hint of murder in it, and had I been told that this book did have a little murdur, I would not have read it. but in this case, i'm glad I wasn't told otherwise, I would have missed this great book obviously.
I am not sure if the murder sceen could have been taken out but I find I don't need to contemplate that. Of course, the guy needed something to happen to him, revenge of some kind, I do believe that.

I'm a sucker for romance but I guess, the reason why I was always going to give this book a 4 is probably because it did go on at times about things I wasn't interested in ie, modelling and fashion, but at the end of the day, it wasn't a big deal.
If i'm going to rate a book 5, it means I will want to read the particular book over again, and this, I decided in the end, I would.

I love how this book was presented and I can't see any problems with the author being too repetitive with descriptions as I've read some of the reviews on this page say.

Most importantly, because I'm the sucker for romance, I am so pleased that everybody found their true love in the end and they could live happily ever after.

Good easy read

A good, although somewhat predictable, read I enjoyed this on a long flight. Recommend as entertainment and relaxation. Moves quickly.

I read this when I was 18. Ten years later, it’s still stuck with me. I urge you all to read it.

For a romance novel, it's not bad. I'm not well-read in romances (and will remain that way) but this book was neither offensive nor too boring, which I consider quite an accomplishment for the genre. The story is straight-forward, based around handsome, wealthy men and beautiful, successful women ... no surprises there. At the time, it was probably cutting edge in discussing some medical procedures just becoming known with the added bonus of one of its main female characters as an accomplished surgeon. It's aged fairly well but obviously isn't as remarkable on those accounts as it once would have been. My greatest complaints - which are not too great - revolve around the writing. The author is often overly-expressive, spelling out every thought and emotion in painful detail, which leads her descriptions to read a bit awkward at times, like she's trying too hard. It's also repetitive; if each reference to spun-gold and firelit hair were removed, the book would be a good twenty pages shorter. Some of the smaller details are questionable, especially around the "fight scene" toward the end, but nothing too glaring, especially in a romance novel. My greatest compliment - which is pretty great, I think - is that it does not compromise its integrity. This is written as a sort of innocent romance, devoid of lurid scenes. Granted, that may disappoint some other readers who have grown used to the sleaze and soft-core porn so common to the genre, but I was very pleased (relieved, even) that the intimate scenes were left to the imagination. Thank you, Miss Stone, for that.

6 stars!!!

When I first read this book in 2008, I had to reread it again and since then, it's been a favorite. It's one I reread, sometimes, just for the fun of it. But it's also one I reread on the days I feel off, or I'm down, or just want to feel all warm and gooey, because it is such a hope filled and fantastic book.

I fell in love with all the characters and they've remained with me all this time - even to the point that I considered a having a similar career as some of them! He he :). Even after all this time, I still find myself thinking about the choices they made and how their lives were (forever) changed by giving love a chance.

If you're someone who's been burned by love, this book will ignite a hope in you that it's still possible to find it again. If you're someone who's already had his/her great love, this book lets you know that there's still space for one more. And if you're someone struggling with unrequited love, this book will let you know that you're not alone and that if you don't give up hope, it can finally be yours.

As you can probably tell, I LOVE this book and to think that I discovered it by accident. Good Lord! Thank heaven for small favors. He he :)

But seriously, read this book! :)

My three star rating is probably impacted by the fact that I hardly ever read a romance novel. There are three main characters who struggle with their own doubts and demons while considering true love. Elizabeth is strong and patient while Larissa is hopeful and, dare I say it, hopeful. Stephen is insightful and caring. I think this is a good read for all die hard romantics.
