Having watched Gary play football in the NFL, I was interested in hearing his story. Gary’s personal memoir is a one of triumph through his professional and personal life. It’s crazy to think how an athlete can go from barely even looked at in life, to barely being looked at in college, to barely even looked at in the pros, to becoming a captain of a Super Bowl Championship team.

Gary may have got the short end of the stick in life, but it is clear he never used that as an excuse. Gary’s personal losses in his life is beyond imaginable and shows his true character in overcoming those challenges. This story is told via a constant seesaw of flashbacks to different moments in a Gary’s life and flash forwards to the drama leading up to his Super Bowl XLI victory.

A good, easy, and worthwhile read.
