James Justin's family distanced themselves from him when they learned he was gay. Since then, he's buried himself in his career so 'friends' are really just acquaintances. This holiday season would have been just another lonely time of the year. Except his new lover, Bram Lord, has no intention of letting that happen. Burly powerhouse Bram takes his cautious lover James on a wild ride through both their neighborhood's slippery, snowy slopes and the even trickier winding trail toward love. Hot holiday heat!

Yes, we had the usual hot and sexy Caveman Bram and his lover James, who has to be coaxed every time to tell Bram what he wants, BUT had I realised how short this was when I bought it, I probably wouldn't have bothered.
I love Laura's writing. She was one of the fist authors in the genre I've read and I have a very soft spot for James and Bram. This story was delicious but too short to make a better rating with me. I'm eagerly awaiting for more of Laura's writing.
Laura Baumbach’s Rough series is one I absolutely fell in love with the moment I opened A BIT OF ROUGH (Book 1). From then on I was eager to see what Bram and James were up to and ROUGH RIDE is no exception. Granted this was a short, hot holiday novella, it is a powerhouse of emotions-from love, loneliness, lust and forgiveness-that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I have to admit, this just wetted my appetite for more of these two wonderful characters. Laura Baumbach is a stellar storyteller who delivers stories packed with heat and emotions. With the right amount of angst, emotional upheaval, lust and love playing out within the pages of the Rough series, the reader is transfixed, eager to see what is next for Bram and James.
ROUGH RIDE is a short, powerful story that continues James and Bram’s romance. Filled with a few twists I didn’t see plus lots of hot simmering sexual tension, I was enthralled till the very end. I can attest I was unable to put down the e-reader just to make dinner; I needed to find out what would happen next for these two. I absolutely adore James and Bram together. Opposites attract and in this case it works perfectly. One is a burly alpha male while the other is submissive but also an alpha too. These two just click together. You can see it the minute they step on the pages. This is an author who knows how to let her characters shine within the confines of the story and keep the reader guessing until the very end.
ROUGH RIDE is a perfect addition to this series and one I am hoping that will continue with more Rough stories. If you are looking for a fun, sensual story that will make you believe in love all over again. Laura Baumbach is a talented and magical author who delivers stories that will take your breath away. I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for her readers in the future.
3 stars for the story and I had to add a star because James and Bram are one of my favorite couples. :)
Basically just a long sex scene, but it was great reading about the guys again. (though the story ended at 67% on my kindle. I know it's a short story and it didn't cost much, but I was expecting a little more than that.)
I thought this was just OK. I never really got into it. From the sled ride to the bedroom, I was detached. Maybe because I'm fed up with bdsm, I don't know...The characters didn't grab me or even lure me in. I can't put my finger on it.
It wasn't bad. Lots of sex. Hot men. Modicum of romance... Just not my favorite.
Pretty much one long sex scene between Bram and James! Probably only of interest to fans of the other 2 books! I wish there had been a bit more development and progression of their relationship, but since I like James and Bram, it was worth the read!
I'm a big fan of James and Bram from the previous books in this series so I was looking forward to this Christmas read. I did enjoy the story but really it is just one big sex scene. Although, it's a very hot sex scene!
I really like this book because is a little something on how Bram and James spend their first Christmas, and many more to go, will be like. However I feel that is was a little to quick for me but it was still cute and nice because it show how sweet is their love.
A short story about Bram and Jamie's first Christmas together.
They go sledging together and then spend a wonderful evening in front of their bedroom fireplace loving each other and becoming even more deeply in love with each other.
