My 3rd grade son loves this - a testament to it's cross gender appeal. The world needs more comic books about silly jellybeans who flap their ears and occasionally emit donuts.

At one point, though, when Dr. Peanut's Zoom-A-Tron Dehydrator Gun misses Cocoa Bean (who couldn't stand still) and travels miles away to accidentally shrink Farmer Bean's prize squash, my younger son cried. He was worked up anyway, but that was a bit too much. I placated him with a story about what happened. FYI the humor is aimed at 3rd - 5th grade.

Either I adapted to liking the style of Mameshiba: On the Loose!, or this newest installment of the Mameshiba books was more entertaining. Either way, I enjoyed it. It's humorous and adventurous, and whereas On the Loose! seemed more appropriate for younger children, this one is great for kids and adults alike.

Very weird. The characters are beans. The stories all work out well, but with a twist and not how you'd expect.
