Rose is skeptical when Lady Denville hires her to take care of some ghosts in her townhouse. She expects to find a nest of rats or leaky water pipes. Instead she finds two sexy spirits intent on fulfilling her every sexual desire. They introduce her to a whole new world of pleasure -- and a curse that may destroy them all.
Lionel and Jonathan have been trapped in the townhouse for decades, waiting. When Rose walks in, they know that she is the one with the power to save them. The key to their freedom lies within reach, and both men must put aside their differences if they ever hope to break the curse that binds them to the townhouse. As the men set out to seduce Rose and gain their freedom, their sexual desire turns into something more. Now they must be honest with the woman they love, or stay imprisoned in the spirit world forever.

A lifetime New Englander, Suzanne married her college sweetheart and has been with him for over twenty years. Every summer she drags her husband and two daughters to Maine on a quest for the perfect lobster dinner. Every fall she can be found down in Foxboro, Massachusetts cheering on her favorite football team. In between those trips, she’s a chauffeur, a maid, a chef, an event planner, a hairdresser, a wardrobe stylist, a tutor and a sometimes masseuse. To keep her sanity, she often drinks copious amounts of coffee and stares at the blank screen of her laptop, dreaming of great adventures. Sometimes she even writes them down for others to enjoy.
Suzanne is represented by Deidre Knight of The Knight Agency and writes mainstream romances under the pen name Ava Conway.
First time reading a book by this author. Pretty good book of paraormal, historical and menage - always a great combination! I'll have to check out other books by this author.
Write a good ghost story and then set it in the Regency era and you have my attention. I had high expectations for this story and it didn’t disappoint me. Ms. Rock did a wonderful job immediately setting the scene with Rose entering the house and being asked to free it of ghosts. It almost reminded me of an old gothic tale but instead of being Victorian this one was of an earlier time.
As she explores the house you get the feeling that there’s something creepy about it and the owner hasn’t been imagining things. There’s also an erotic edge to it, especially when Rose first sees the two men. In fact, the book had a wonderful balance of eerie story and erotic tale. I liked all three characters but especially Rose who seemed to be down on her luck. I cheered for her but at the same time wondered how the author would bring this to a happy ending for all three characters.
The dialogue is good and the pacing perfect for the tale which does, in fact, have a satisfying conclusion. I’ll definitely be looking out for more stories by Ms. Rock.
If you enjoy a historical short story packed with ghostly and erotic goings on in an old house, this is one you won’t want to miss.

Ms. Rock has given us an amazing story with gripping characters and sex that will knock your socks off. Rose is desperate for money, her husband left her in debt and now she has to find a way to support herself, not easy when society looks down upon members of the Ton working. So to make ends meet, she is forced to take jobs clearing ghosts from the homes of her clients. So far all the ghosts have been nothing more then oddities about the houses. UNTIL she walking into Lady Denville’s house and two spirits have sex. Not only can she see them, they can see and touch her. And the ghosts see the way to break the curse that binds them to the house and might set them free. But is Rose ready to let down her society morals and do what must be done to set them free.
This book takes you on a sexual adventure that changes the three in the house forever. If you are looking for a sexy book to steam up your nights this is the one for you. I highly recommend it. Look forward to more from this author and checking out her back list.
Yeah, that was not good. Insta-lust, way too much repetition of exposition and needless wrangling of logic, heavyhanded characterisation, and a few too many cliched descriptions for my tolerance. Goddamnit, why can’t I find well-written Regency menage or m/m erotica?
This was a good story. I liked Rose, Lionel and Jonathan and their story was enjoyable if not completely believable (outside of the fact of ghosts in the story). This is the first story I've read by this author and I liked this enough I may consider trying more of her work in the future.
Rose is a widow at the age of 23. She's a member of the Ton (the upper class society in London) and once her husband died (leaving her in debt) she's found life to be hard and lonely (especially while living up to the stict propriety of the Ton). She happened to help a Lady with her "ghost" problem that ended up being noisy drafts and since then many Ladies of the Ton have paid Rose to get rid of their "ghosts". Rose has taken on the jobs for the money but has never actually found any ghost..always finding mundane reasons for the suspicions of ghosts.
Rose is called to a Lady's house to check out some ghosts. Rose is left alone in the house and finds that this situation is much different from previous ones. Rose follows the noises and actually sees 2 ghosts in the form of 2 men that are making love to each other. She gets turned on by this (which she considers strange since her husband never stimulated her in sex) and finds herself watching them. There's an instant attraction between them all and it also seems likely that Rose is the one that can help them escape because she can touch them where no one else has been able to in the last 100 years. The story takes place over the space of 1 night as Rose tries to help Lionel and Jonathan escape the curse that has them trapped in the spirit world. Because of the short timeframe, the emotions and sexual encounters happen very quickly and (to me at least) seemed kind of rushed. It ends nicely though, and in a way that gives Rose, Lionel and Jonathan a HEA together.
This was an enjoyable story. I liked the characters but I will admit we don't get much background on Lionel and Jonathan and I would have liked a little more info on them. My main complaint is how rushed the story seemed, it made some parts of the story rather hard to believe. Overall, this was a good story as long as you can suspend disbelief a bit. :D
Whispers, by Suzanne Rock, is a quick, fun read. If you like your paranormal romance hot and full of ghosts, curses, and M/M, M/F, and M/M/F action then this is the book for you. Although, I did find some of the heroine’s thoughts to be redundant, especially when she was lamenting her relationship with her deceased husband I found the overall story engaging. I’d love to see the three main characters again, preferably in a novel length book where the author had room to flesh them out even more.
Rose, Jonathan, and Lionel's story was quite interesting. Okay. HOT! Is the word I want to say. Their story of love and then a curse, makes a Great way for Rose to enter and help. The background of Rose helped me understand her more. Nicely done Looking forward reading Cria next!
