When tragedy takes away her one chance at love, will another help her find it?
Goldie Colson has lost everything, including her parents in a fire. So, she does what any other woman would do in her predicament. She becomes a mail-order bride. Unfortunately, before she can tie the knot, she loses her betrothed and his father to train robbers! Now she’s stuck in Nowhere, Washington with nothing but the two mens' meager belongings, including a pistol her future father in-law found. Considering she shot one of the train robbers, it might come in handy if she ever ran into them again.
Rhys Miller couldn’t complain about his life. He was best friends with some of the Weavers of the famous Weaver Farm, and enjoyed working at the town’s only bank, even if it was a little dull. Then she came to town and Rhys didn’t know if he was coming or going. Goldie Colson was scared and rightly so. Strangers were asking after her at the Weaver Farm, and after hearing about what happened to her with a bunch of train robbers, a few of them might want her dead. But Rhys isn’t sure which is worse, guarding Goldie from danger or guarding his heart from her.
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
Kisses only. I kinda lost interest in the book half way through and skimmed through to the end. Do her parents die in a bank robbery or a fire? The beginning says bank robbery but half way through it’s a fire. The main conflict is glossed over and the love story is very insta-love. On top of all that there are so many characters referred to in such a way that made me think they are characters in different books and avid readers of the author know them already (maybe there’s a mail-order bride collection out there or something?) since this is my first book by this author, I found that the extra characters bogged things down.
This is another fabulous book by this author and in the Pink Pistol Sisterhood. I love this author's stories in every book series she writes. They are so full of the most unique ideas in some of the craziest series in western romance and fantasy fiction. This one is no different with characters from her series and all new great fun I think everyone who reads her stories love. There is fun, danger, and romance in every story and tells, in every book she writes. If you haven read any of Kit's stories you better and start with the crazy and wildly fun Clear Creak stories and you'll find they will have you laughing mostly and sometimes just enjoying a great story, always, laughing and crying at how easy it is when you are laughing so hard at times. They also often connect within the different series. Loved it.
Rhys- banker in Nowhere Washington Goldie- left kc after parents died and money ran out, became a mob, but traveling to Washington the train was robbed and her to be groom along with his dad was shot. I enjoyed reading this engaging story with a loving hea. Ama
I GUESS WE NEVER KNOW WHAT THE WORLD IS GOING TO SERVE US
The story is the fourth in the Pink Pistol Sisterhood series and revolves around a special, pink pearl-handled pistol, entrusted to Annie Oakley, and asked to be passed along to a young lady. When she finds love, she is to pass it along to another—and so forth.
“She who possesses this pistol, possesses an opportunity that must not be squandered. Cast in the tender dreams of maidens from ages past, the steel of this weapon is steadfast and true and will lead an unmarried woman to a man forged from the same virtuous elements. One need only fit her hand to the grip and open her heart to activate the promise for which this pistol was fashioned—the promise of true love. Patience and courage will illuminate her path. Hope and faith will guide her steps until her heart finds its home. Once the promise is fulfilled, the bearer must release the pistol and pass it to another or risk losing what she has found. Accept the gift—or not. Believe its promise—or not. But hoard the pistol for personal gain—and lose what you hold most dear.”
As with the other stories, this one was a wonderful, and completely different tale revolving around the pink pearl-handled pistol. What a shock to think your life was moving forward after several tragedies and then have your soon-to-be husband and father-in-law gunned down in a train robbery, and you shoot their killer. But now, that means that mail-ordered bride is once again alone, with no plans for her future, and outlaws are after her.
I enjoyed the story, the mystery, and the amazing people and town that Goldie Colson lands in after the horrible tragedy she experienced on the train. The people of Nowhere embrace her and show her friendship and compassion. I loved how she would hear other stories of mail-order brides, and tragedies that turned into happily-ever-after experiences. But what will happen to her? Will she find her forever groom and happiness and how did this elusive pink-handled pistol make its way to her? Is Rhys Miller just a kind man or could there be more for him and Goldie?
Calvin: Yer bein’ awful protective of the lady. Sure there ain’t more goin’ on than ya think? Rhys: What do you mean? Calvin: Only that it’s becomin’ apparent yer sweet on her. So when are ya gonna do somethin’ ‘bout it? Rhys: I, er, I have no idea. Besides, she’s determined to leave as soon as she can. Calvin: Because she don’t see no other way to survive. If’n it’s in yer heart to have her stay, then say somethin’. She’ll be able to see the man ya are if’n she ain’t got all that fear hangin’ over her. She’s runnin’, Rhys, ‘cause she scared. Rhys: Have you seen that woman shoot? She’s a better shot than I am. In fact, I’d wager she’s a better shot than you. I know she’s scared. And I want to help her. But I don’t know if I can give her what she needs. Sometimes I don’t even know if I can protect her. What if those train robbers come back? What if they hurt her? Calvin: Ya cain’t focus on the what-ifs. All ya can do is try. And I think ya owe it to yerself to do just that. Yer a fool if ya think she ain’t already stayin’ for ya. I see the way she looks at ya when she thinks no one is watchin’. And the way ya look at her when you think no one is. Rhys: Like I said, I don’t want to force her into anything she doesn’t want. Sebastian: Ya don’t have to force her. Just be there for her. Listen to her when she talks, be a shoulder for her to lean on. Those are the things that matter. After all, sometimes a person needs more than just safety. They need to feel wanted and loved. Rhys: Thanks, Sebastian. I’ll keep that in mind.
I love the chemistry between Goldie and Rhys. He is supportive and enamored with her from the moment they meet but understands that she has suffered a shocking experience. His foresight is to let his mother and Goldie have girl time together—two women with similar experiences. Tragedy doesn’t mean the end—just something to build a stronger future on. I loved the characters, their protectiveness, and how well they all pull together—even for a stranger among them. Once again, the handler of the pink pearl-handled pistol will find her happily ever after.
Be sure to read the next story, Bullseye Bride by Kari Trumbo.
This reviewer was so thrilled that the author put the heroine (Goldie Colson) and the hero (Rhys Miller) directly into the Weaver community near Nowhere, Washington. The Weavers, for me, have almost reached cult status among the author's fans. Goldie Colson, a mail-order bride, was heading for Seattle or Portland with her betrothed and his father when a gang of ruthless outlaws burst onto the train and murdered both of them. Goldie, however, accidently kills one of the outlaws. How fitting that Goldie ended up in Nowhere because she now had no where else to go! But the Weaver clan comes to the rescue. The eclectic, lovable and heroic Weavers take her in, especially banker Rhys Miller. The legendary Pink Pistol somehow ends up with Goldie and it is fitting that Goldie's father was a Texas ranger and taught her how to shoot better than anyone else in town. Fearing the gang would seek revenge on Goldie, Rhys Miller's protective side awakens and so do other facets of his personality which have lain dormant. Can Rhys and his quirky Weaver family protect Goldie from the outlaws? Poor Goldie does not know what to do. Afraid her presence may cause the Weavers harm, she doesn't know if she should flee or stay. With a rapidly growing fondness, Rhys wants her to definitely stay. What a quandary for the two hearts? Great romantic story full of drama, romance, and quaint humor provided by the Weavers.
Washington State, 1900 Train robbery gone bad, mail-order bride without a husband & a kindly banker.
The pink pistol has few moments this time aroud. Those who regularly read this author's work, will recognize the Weaver Farm & the town of Nowhere. Mrs. Dinwiddie from the last book makes another mysterious appearance. Several typos. Teensiest faith moments (usually a quick blessing over food). Light danger. Goldie's eye color keeps changing- 🤎👀 "She was pretty with her blonde hair and big brown eyes." 💙👀 "Her eyes were a bright blue, her hair like spun gold." 🤎👀 "She looked up at him, her brown eyes searching his face."
Decent story. 3⭐=Good
This book is part of a series by multiple authors.

A must read… in the early 1900’s it was a common practice to be a mail order bride. A new author to me. Goldie Colton found her self homeless and having very little money. Her parents were killed in a fire and Goldie didn’t have any other living relatives. Her only means of surviving was to become a mail order bride. While traveling on the train with her soon to be husband and father-in-law they are shot and killed by train robbers. Goldie sees the pink gun laying on the seat and shoots and kills one of the robbers. Now she has no one and no money while arriving in the small town of Nowhere Washington where she is greeted by the townspeople with open arms and a handsome man, Rhys Miller. After finding a temporary job Goldie begins to be concerned about the remaining train robbers. Will they come after her? Will she find safety?
Kit Morgan always delivers an engrossing story. What would I do if I were a mail order bride, an d the groom was killed in front of me by train robbers, especially in 1899? What if I picked up a pistol and accidentally killed one of them? And his brother knew who I was, and where I had gotten off the train? That's the dilemma Goldie was facing, by being alone in a tiny town. Of course theater and pink pistol comes into play. Read it and get involved in what happens.
The train was being robbed. One of the robbers had shot her future husband and her future father-in-law then turned to shoot again. In that moment Goldie grabbed the handgun that was in the future father-in-law’s hand, made an accurate wild shot and killed the robber. The other three robbers got away. The next train stop was the Weaver Farm. They took care of her. She ended up in Nowhere with a job at the hotel. She met the banker, Rhys and her future started. Loved the story.
The author brings in many characters from Clear Creek and Nowhere Washington, the Weaver families, Cooke family, Millers and more to tell the beautiful story of Rhys and Goldie! She came as a mail order bride but train robbers killed her husband to be. Now what can she do? What will she do? It’s fun to see how it will all work out. Clean with a light faith thread too.
I enjoy reading stories with strong and brave female leads. That is the description of this book. Goldie has lost everything. She is alone in a strange place with nothing but what she carries and a pink pistol her dead fiancé found. What will she do to survive? Rhys Miller is a banker who becomes captivated by the lovely Goldie the moment he meets her. When danger seeks her out, he promises to protect her. But does she really need his protection?
I have really enjoyed the Pink Pistol series and this book by Kit Morgan is no exception. This is the first book of hers that I have read but obviously not the first one she's written about Nowhere and Clear Creek. I can see by the other reviews that I need to go back and find her other books about the Weavers and the Millers. I definitely enjoyed meeting all the characters and following the fascinating story of a pink pistol that brings love to the ladies that possess it.
I like everything that I've read by Kit Morgan; and I've read a whole lot. I like the books I've read so far in this series. Having each appearance of the pink pistol be a year or more after the last one is interesting. The Bullet Proof Bride was a great addition to the series and I'm excitedly looking forward to the next ones. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes clean, romantic, and lighthearted reads. I'm going on to the next one now.
A 3.5 rating to be exact. My biggest issue is that, sadly, there are typos and continuity errors left uncorrected that pull the reader right out of the story. A few were rather jarring. It makes me sad that they missed being corrected. That being said, I did enjoy the overall story. I would have liked to have seen the pistol a bit more integrated into the story, but this was nice. I'm enjoying the Pink Pistol Sisterhood series immensely and look forward to seeing the pistol's future adventures.
Bullet Proof Bride by Kit Morgan – This series is on kindle unlimited. Her journey to be a mail order bride gets chaotically interrupted by a train robbery and several murders. The little town she is stranded in rallies around her to help her cope with the tragedy and the alienation she feels when she loses her fiancé. Such a sweet small-town story in the pink pearl pistol’s latest matchmaking scheme! Happy Reading!
What more could I want in a book? Kit Morgan gives us romance, humor, danger, a visit with old friends (if you don’t know the Weavers and the other residents of Nowhere, you need to get them on your TBR list) and a happily ever after. A great addition to this series. Wonder who will end up with the pistol next.
A mail-order bride went wrong, a fun plot that leads to so many enjoyable characters. I was drawn into the story from the beginning, the romance is built gradually giving the characters time to get to know each other. I loved that the Weaver family was brought into the story. Romance, family, and even bad guys....all make for a fantastic story!
Thanks Kit Morgan, I really did enjoy reading this book, Goldie was on the train going to Nowhere, when Bandits got on and killed the man she was supposed to marry and she found the Pistol. She met Arlan Weaver and family who helped her, She met Rhys in town, they went back to the Weavers to help them, Goldie got shot at, and the Weavers to the rescue.
Bullet Proof Bride: ( Pink Pistol Sisterhood Series Book 4)
Lovey book I really enjoyed it. Always fun to catch up with the Weavers and the other citizens of Nowhere. You can just feel the tension and the fear that Goldie is feeling. Rhys is love struck from the beginning but takes a few nudges from the Weaver men together him to act on it. Finally HEA !!
I didn’t finish this one.. it’s just not there- maybe I’ll come back to it, I have enjoyed the series so far, but this one is just too flat. I don’t know what to say other than it’s not holding my attention and I’m not really grasping to go back to it- it’s been a while since a book has not held my attention, nothing really wrong with it - it’s just not there for me
A young woman seeking new life gets thwarted by disaster and finds herself in Nowhere. The town rallies around to help her and the promise of the pink pistol is at work again. Visit with the Weavers and apple harvest too. Fun read.
I like this story with sweet characters and a wonderful community. There were lots of side characters introduced that had nothing to do with the story and the time line became confused at some points. The ending was really fun.
Thank you for this exciting story about Goldie and Rhys. I enjoyed the camaraderie between the town's people and the Weaver family metal and how they all helped Goldie. I look forward to reading more of your work.
This was a fantastic Historical Christian fiction book in the Pink Pistol Sisterhood multi author series! I was able to read a copy of this book via Overdrive, but it did not in any way affect my review. All opinions are my own.
This was a fun story, but some parts it seemed like the author summarized the events instead of letting us experience them. I’m sure that was at least partly because of the length of the book. The characters were fun and added charm to the story.
I really enjoyed this book. I love that the apple orchards of Washington were included. I'm glad Goldie got her happily ever after. I recommend this book.
