Oh my have I been missing out. This is really the first series I have read with a Western theme and dear Lord I can only say that I need more. C. H. Admirand has swept my breath away with her trilogy of sexy studs that are more than any one woman could possibly wish for. Oh Yumm!
Jesse Garahan is the epitomy of Tall, Dark and Handsome! Throw in a cowboy code of honor with a sexual hunger that will have you salaviting until the cows come home and you got the best of the best. Oh my I need me a cowboy stallion even if it's just for one night. (sigh.............)
Danielle is a pretty little blonde with a little replica of herself in a pink cowboy hat and boots that will make your heart melt. Her daughter is every mother's dream child but can Danielle help her little girl heal her broken heart from a daddy that just up and left without a care in the world?
They say good things come in small packages and this story is everything that you could possibly want from a good book. A man with a heart and sexual hunger as big as the state of Texas but with the gentleness and caring of a heart surgeon. A woman who doesn't know if she can trust another cowboy and with a small daughter who melts her heart into tiny pieces. A little girl who is too intelligent by far but with an innocent perception of love that will make you melt like putty with her sweet little antics.
Out of the Trilogy of this cowboy series with Tyler being the first, Dylan the second and now Jesse the third, I would have to say that C. H. Admirand saved the best for last. I absolutely loved all three but this by far is my favorite of all. Just hand me over a Jesse for myself and I will truly live happily ever after.
Jesse (The Secret Life of Cowboys) By C H Admirand
Jesse is the youngest of his two brothers, he lives his life on his ranch with his brothers called the Circle G. This is the 3rd book in the series. Jesse was in love once but she didn't want a life of a rancher’s wife. When Jesse see’s his brother’s with their new wives he would get jealous. Not jealous of them but what they have, the love they share and their happiness. Now a day’s he feels like he is missing something out of his life and maybe that was it.
Danielle and Lacy were coming back home to Texas after her divorce. When Danielle’s car got stuck on the side of the road, her day couldn't get any worse. But when a hot cowboy comes to her rescue it was looking up.
When Jesse saw a cute woman stranded on the side of the road he couldn’t just drive by and leave her there, he was brought up better than that.
Jesse stopped to help Danielle and when her pint size daughter Lacy came out of the car in her pink cowboy boots and hat he thought she was the cutest thing ever. He never thought himself of being with a woman with kids but with Lacy who is only 4 her personality just made him want to be with them. Lacy loves her Cowboy Jesse and when he promises to give her riding lessons she couldn't wait.
Danielle didn't know what to think about Jesse, she didn't want to end up with another guy that loved his life more than Lacy and her. But with Jesse she got the feeling that he was different and the more time she spent with him and his family she realized that he was nothing like her ex-husband.
This story makes me wish I lived in the country and not in NYC because this story makes you want to be with the Garahan family. It takes you back to when relationships were built on pure love of one another. When a man treasured you and loved you unconditionally. With Lacy in the mix of the story she is the cutest thing in this book. I loved reading how she interacted with everyone.
This is the 3rd book in the Secret Life of Cowboys trilogy by C.H. Admirand. This is also the first book I have ever read by this author. I think it might have been a mistake to read this without reading the first two in the series. After reading this i started to wonder if you needed the first two to get the vibe for this series. I wasn't exactly feeling it. I like the idea of the story but where it goes off kilter for me is the some of the cheesy dialog. When you have to roll your eyes while reading it's not cute and enduring like you want it to be. Loved all the characters especially the uncle and Lacy the little girl but i don't need to be reminded every time that she wearing those pink boots and pink hat and.... well pink. A few things were lost to me and i think it's because i didn't read the first two books. My end impression is liked it but was annoyed with it at the same time. I would still try this author again though. 3 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for Jesse by C.H. Admirand.
C.H. Admirand has a true gem to add to her Secret Life of Cowboys series with this latest installment, JESSE. Endearing, sexy and absolutely amazing, this novel has it all!
Seeing the happiness his brothers have found, Jesse Garahan has found life on the Circle G ranch to be a little empty. He's ready for the perfect woman to share his life with, he just doesn't know where to find her. Luckily for him, one day he stumbles upon Danielle Brockway and her daughter Lacy on the side of the road after their truck breaks down. Jesse likes her immediately and he's ready to test the waters to see if a relationship between them can work.
Yet Danielle has just recently divorced her husband, Lacy's father, and she's not sure she can give her heart away to another cowboy again. Danielle may not be ready to give them a chance at happily ever after, but Jesse is determined to show her this cowboy is worth the risk.
C.H. Admirand doesn't just make heroes that the heroine can fall in love with, but the reader as well. Jesse was...well, he was fabulous. I adored his character and his journey to finding true love. His interactions with Danielle's daughter Lacy will nearly break your heart; they are so adorable. Still, if that wasn't enough, you could judge him by the way he pursued Danielle's love. Despite her hesitations to jump into a relationship again, he never pushed her into something she wasn't ready for. He took their mutual attraction and built a strong foundation of trust and respect for a lasting relationship.
Danielle was great, too. Although it's easy to be overjoyed about all the romantic moments between Danielle and Jesse, I was always admiring her relentlessness to put Lacy first. She never did anything without first considering how it would affect Lacy. Even though her apprehension towards a relationship with Jesse was fueled by a bad past with her ex, it was also because of Lacy. She couldn't stand the thought of Lacy being abandoned again by another father figure. As easy as it was to admire Danielle, it was just as easy to fall in love with Lacy. She stole each scene she was in and provided great amusement and charm to the novel.
JESSE is the first book I've read from the Secret Life of Cowboys series and I wasn't lost at all starting with this third installment. In fact, I fell so hard for the other characters in such a short time, I'm certainly going back to read the rest. Still, the other brothers and their significant others are a big part of this novel, so if you can't stand to be left behind not knowing about their stories, you might want to start with the first book. C.H. Admirand gives away bits and pieces of their past along the way but it's nothing truly significant to distract from Jesse and Danielle's story. Overall though, it's a lovely cast of characters. You'll love them all and won't be able to get enough of them.
The novel JESSE moves at a great pace. The dialogue keeps you entertained and the romance develops nicely. It moves at a pace that doesn't feel rushed or overwhelming. I was wrapped up in this story from the first page until the last. The emotional exploration of Jesse and Danielle's romantic feelings is masterfully written and I enjoyed every moment of it. Simply put, it is an amazingly awesome novel.
C.H. Admirand writes contemporary western romance the way it ought to be done. It is easy to love a novel like JESSE when it has sparkling dialogue, entertaining characters and a passionate romance. JESSE is an extremely light hearted and wonderfully enjoyable read. This sassy, sexy and wild romance will stay with you long after you've read it and will entice you to read it again and again. I'm certainly glad I had the pleasure of visiting C.H. Admirand's world and the Garahan cowboys in Pleasure, Texas! I have no doubt I'll be back!
Hmmm….the three Garahan Boys of Pleasure, Texas - always gentlemen…willing to help out women in distress…..gotta love it!
Tyler is a surefire winner from CH Admirand. Gotta love those Garahan boys!!!! When they agree to do something and shake on it, they do not go back on their word even if the "something" is not exactly what they presumed it to be. After applying for a second job, to help keep the Garahan Ranch from foreclosure, Tyler falls for Emily Langley, the co-owner of The Lucky Star, the new Ladies Club in town. He will do anything to be near that redhead, even if it's learning to dance to be the main attraction/stripper for the club and trying to keep the second job a secret from his brothers.
All that was going through my mind while reading this was a take-off (pun intended) of Luke Bryan's song "Country Girl (Shake it)" and I was humming "Country Boy, shake it for me" with a big smile while enjoying how their budding relationship played out.
After jumping in and becoming "one of the guys", Tyler goes after exactly who he wants. No matter what Emily just has to realize that she wants him, he wants her and…there ya have it - you would think it would be that simple, but nothing is ever simple with stubborn mule-headed people!
Dylan is the second Garahan story. The way he falls for his love is while helping out at The Lucky Star, that boy can lasso very nicely!!! Ronnie Delvecchio is a hot tempered brunette who needs a handyman to help repair her. Ronnie has always been told about a family curse regarding her love life and tries so hard to not fall for Dylan but she loves him too hard to avoid him.
When an hotheaded Italian barrel rider from New Jersey (love it) meets and falls for the man and the land sparks fly and even though it's gonna be a crazy trip for them to finally be together, it is a fun read along the way!
Jesse is the third Garahan story, and so much fun to read! CH Admirand's characters were down to earth and I was happy to be turning pages to see how things progressed in the book between Jesse Garahan, Danielle Brockway and her tiny little blond spitfire daughter Lacy. This is the third book in the Secret Life of Cowboys Series and it is a definitely a keeper right next to the first two. Love to read about the down on her luck lady who tries not to but falls into the life of Jesse Garahan. He doesn't want to fall for her but between her and her little daughter, Jesse is doomed - in a beautiful way. The old adage of never working with children or animals in Hollywood also goes for books. Little Lacy is a smart heart-string tugging cutie-pie (pun intended)!
Jesse, Dylan and Tyler are truly soft-hearted cowboys who you will love to read about again and again. I give this a resounding 4 stars!! I closed the last page of each book with a smile because you cannot help but smile with people of Pleasure, Texas.
These will be well-worn, dog-eared books. We are also introduced to a few more relatives, the cousins—quite a few cousins—sigh, that CH dangles in front of the reader with just enough alpha male yumminess (a word in my cowboy dictionary) for you to remember. Maybe in the next books? Please?
All three stories are beautiful and should be read in order, they can be read separately but together they are like a delicious layer cake with the perfect amount of icing. The way the people of this town are written pull us into the town and we become part of the quirkiness that makes Pleasure the kind of town it is.
Hot cowboys who know how to treat their women…women who know how to treat their men…an uncle who makes pie…a woman's club, a lingerie shop (named Guilty Pleasures) and a cute kid, what else do you really need???
Jesse by C.H.Admirand is the final book in the Secret Life of Cowboys. I think this was my favorite book in the series. Jesse had had his heart broken twice by the same woman who married her ex twice. Jesse was so sure she loved him. He thought his heart would never heal until he met Danielle and her daughter Lacy when their car broke down on the side of the road.
Danielle was nursing a broken heart. Her ex-husband decided he wanted the life of a bull rider with no family to hold him back. To do so he cleaned out their savings account to buy a fancy RV and go on the circuit. Lacy was devastated that her daddy no longer wanted them and didn't even say goodbye.
When Jesse stopped to help them out Lacy was mesmerized at meeting a real live cowboy. She immediately took to Jesse and he developed quite the soft spot for her along with her mother. Things did not always go smoothly for them but a wake up call helped them find their happily ever after.
I am sad to say that I am finished with the Garahan brothers. I know you will fall in love with them as much as I have. I love this authors style of writing and her character development. She writes in a way that makes you fall in love with them. I will definitely be looking for more by C.H.Admirand.
Jesse (The Secret Life of Cowboys #3) by C. H. Admirand (Sourcebooks, July 1, 2012)
Poor Jesse. We saw his friend Lori break his heart (for the second time) in Dylan, and Jesse now sports a barbed wire tattoo around his arm to symbolize how he isn’t going to let any woman get past it to his heart. Until he stops to help a gorgeous blond with car trouble, that is. One look at Danielle Brockway and her tiny daughter, Lacey, and he falls hard for both of them.
Danielle doesn’t want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. Her rodeo husband left her and their daughter, taking all of Danielle’s hard earned savings while he was at it, and she’s retreated to Pleasure to stay with her loving uncle who owns the town diner. She might be attracted to the hunky youngest Garahan but she’s a mother first and she needs to do what’s best for Lacey.
Little Lacey steals the show. She’s the tiniest cowgirl in pink boots and a matching hat she wears to bed every night, and Jesse being a real cowboy puts her over the moon. Jesse wants Danielle and Lacey at the ranch all the time, but is harboring a secret. He’s taken an outside job to help with the mortgage payment (no, not at the strip club) and is being secretive about it with everyone. Danielle is worried she might have picked another man who is going to put her second, but she’s bolstered by seeing the loving Garahan family in action. Any man who comes from this crew is bound to be a solid citizen.
I might have wanted to shake Jesse a couple times in this book, but he’s likely to be my favorite Garahan so far (fear not, Tyler and Dylan, I still love you both). C. H. Admirand does a great job of showing how brusque cowboys can still be Southern sweet-talkers when they want to be and if the sex they dish out is any indication, there will be hordes of women moving to Texas post-haste. The best part of the book is when the Garahan cousins – the cops from New York and the U. S. Marshals from Colorado come out to join in the town of Pleasure’s annual party. I’ve got all my fingers and toes crossed that Admirand isn’t an author who would tease a reader with a bunch of sexy, single male cousins and then not deliver on future books starring them. Don’t disappoint me, Ms. Admirand!
If you feel like a little twang, a wonderful small town, hot lovin’, and some sexy cowboys who find the women who make them sit up and realize what love is, you are more than ready to add The Secret Life of Cowboys series to your reading shelf. Jesse doesn’t come out until July 1st, but you can get started with Tyler and Dylan. But let me warn you. Reading about Texas in the summer is H-O-T, so be sure to have a cold glass of sweet tea nearby to cool yourself down.
Jesse Garahan has been unlucky in love.He thought he was in love at one time, but she only wanted him as a friend. Now The Circle G is all atwitter with his brother's women and he feels that pang of jealousy and also the longing for what both Tyler and Dylan have
Driving along in his truck Jesse comes upon two damsels in distress. Danielle Brockway and her daughter, pint-sized pink cowgirl Lacy are in serious need of help. Danielle is about to attempt a big no-no with her overheated car and remove the radiator cap. Cowboy Jesse saves the day before Danielle could come to harm and he becomes Lacy's instant hero.
Divorcee, Danielle Brockway is in the town of Pleasure to stay with her Uncle Jimmy, who owns a diner and makes the best pies in Pleasure. She and little Lacy have been abandoned by her ex, a bull rider who only thinks of himself and has no place in his life for a wife and child. The instant she meets Jess Garahan, she is intrigued by the handsome and well mannered cowboy. Lacy is full on in love with Jesse from minute one and it seems that Jesse feels the same way for the smart as a tack three year old.
Jesse also feels an instant attraction to the beautiful blonde, Danielle and wonders if she could be the one for him. Even after being hurt by the same woman twice he is willing to see where his attraction takes them. Danielle has trust issues because of her ex and doesn't know if opening herself up to Jesse will cause more heartache. Would a cowboy take on a divorcee and her tiny daughter and love them as his own? If he does, can the divorcee trust him to be the honorable and loving man he is known by others to be? Well, pick up Jesse to find out!
Jesse is the third installment in the Secret Life of Cowboys trilogy and it is my favorite. Jesse's true man comes out clear as day and it makes me want to be a cute little blonde named Danielle. Lacy is a shining star constantly rooting for her cowboy and you can't help but melt every time she opens her mouth. Danielle doesn't realize she is as strong a woman as she is and it takes both Jesse and Lacy to bring it out. Jesse by CH Admirand shows that families come in all shapes and sizes. Watching newcomers Danielle and Lacy fit in with the Garahan clan is an awesome sight that makes you want to be on the inside. Jesse is a hometown romance only CH can write, truthful and to the heart of it. I highly recommend Jesse by CH Admirand , and hope you go ahead and read Tyler and Dylan first because getting to know each Garahan in their own story is part of their charm.
Thank you CH Admirand, for bringing the Garahans and their loves to life as only you can!
Jesse Garahan is on his way into town to pay down some of the family ranch's debt when he stops to rescue the two females that will forever change his life.
Danielle Brockway is on her way back to Pleasure hoping staying with her beloved Uncle will help heal the wounds she got when her husband left her and their small daughter behind for the bull riding circuit. But an overheated car throws her in the path of Jesse and nothing for either herself or her daughter is ever the same again.
I really liked Jesse. He was a man who wanted to feel like he was contributing to his family's ranch in the same way that his brothers did. He gave up his dream of racing cars so he could help out at the family ranch. But he was also a man who had been hurt badly both by a woman he loved (twice) and by the death of his parents at a young age and his grandfather later on. At times, you could see the little boy he was looking for his parents and the validation at knowing things would be alright. It was at those times that I really felt for Jesse and wanted him to have all he wanted.
Danielle had fallen for a smooth cowboy before and wound up not only getting her heart broken, but her young daughter's as well, so it's understandable that she would shy away from Jesse as he pursued her. It was also understandable that she wasn't willing to take a backseat to someone else's dream, like she did with her ex-husband. While she didn't push Jesse to ever reveal where he was working on those nights he'd rush away from the ranch, you knew that she would cut those ties quickly if she didn't think she and her daughter came first with any man.
This was a sweet story. Besides, how could you not enjoy a story when three strong cowboys were brought to their knees by a little pink cowgirl.
Good wholesome stories that focus on family, friends, love and caring are always fun and uplifting to read.
Author C.H. Admirand has such stories in her The Secret Life of Cowboys series with her latest release, JESSE, being a great example.
Admirand makes her characters realistic people you’d really like to know. She sprinkles in a little mystery, some steamy romance and a delightful sense of humor for a well-balanced story.
Jesse Garahan is a sexy and charming cowboy who has given up on love after being hurt twice by the same woman. Being a true cowboy though, Jesse stops to give a stranded motorist help and finds more than he bargained for.
Danielle Brockway doesn’t much care for cowboys anymore thanks to her ex, a bull rider. She’s just trying to get to her uncle’s with her little girl to start a new life. When Jesse stops to help, life takes an unexpected turn.
The easy flowing conversational-style writing moves the story along while holding your attention. It will have you shaking your head and laughing. It may even pull on your heart strings a bit and have you turning up the AC as things heat up between Jesse and Danielle. You won’t be able to resist Lacy either.
JESSE is the third and final installment in The Secret Life of Cowboys series but is a stand alone read. Readers will be treated to characters from the previous installments - TYLER and DYLAN - but won’t be at a loss as to what is going on.
For a fun-filled afternoon of pleasant, steamy reading, be sure to include JESSE in your list of books.
Jesse by C.H. Admirand, The Secret Life of Cowboys, Sourcebooks Casablanca, @2012, ISBN: 978-1402265198, Paperback, 352 Pages
FTC Full Disclosure - This book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.
I've had the honor of reading all of the books in CH Admirand's Secret Life of Cowboys series. It's hard to choose which book was my favorite, but Jesse just might be the one. I laughed, held on for dear life, and ended up grinning more than a couple of times. Then there's the heat! Ms Admirand's stories are sure to require a glass of something cold while reading. This one didn't disappoint.
What I enjoyed the most about this story was Danielle. There seems to be a trend of heroines who come out of the gate claws out and ready to rumble.I like a hard edged heroine, but Danielle, for all she's been through, is more mature. She's got a strength that doesn't come from bluster - it comes from having a kid. Nice change of pace. Then there's Jesse. He's the baby of the family and he's never felt like he's been enough. He's easy to relate to. Who hasn't been in that sort of situation, being in the land of giants and feeling like you'll never be enough? I have. I enjoyed the ways and means he uses to become enough. Lacey was a nice addition to this story. Sometimes spicy romance doesn't really have room for kids. Okay, that sounded bad, but sometimes it seems like kids are thrown in for flavor. Not at all in this story. She really shined. I liked it.
If you're looking for a series with characters that aren't exactly as they seem, then this might be the book for you. If you want heat and a healthy dose of heart, then pick up a copy of Jesse. It's a really good read.
Very good book. Jesse is the youngest of the Garahan brothers and wants what his brothers have - a loving relationship with a woman. But he's had his heart broken twice by the same woman, so has sworn off women for awhile. Then he meets Danielle and Lacy when he rescues them on the side of the road. He's immediately attracted to Danielle, and little Lacy steals his heart from the beginning. Danielle is on her way to Pleasure to stay with her uncle. Her ex-husband walked away from her and their daughter without a backward glance. She doesn't trust men, especially cowboys, and doesn't want to let Jesse anywhere near them. But he keeps coming around, and soon she is dreaming of what might be with Jesse. Jesse finds that the more time he spends with Danielle and Lacy, the more he sees them as a permanent part of his life. I loved Jesse and how good he was with Lacy. He was just the guy she needed in her life to take the place of her good for nothing father. I also loved his interactions with his brothers and their ladies, and the fun they all had. His teasing of his brothers was just so much fun. I also liked the way he was working that second job to make money for the ranch - his secrecy reminded me of Tyler's time at the club. Jesse's growing love for Danielle was something that filled a hole in his life that he hadn't realized was there until his brothers found their loves. I loved Danielle and how protective she was of Lacy and her feelings. I also liked the way she fit in on the ranch and with his brothers and Ronnie and Emily. I loved the ending with the appearances of Jesse's cousins. I hope that they get their own books too.
Jesse is the third book in the "Secret Life of Cowboys" trilogy by C. H Admirand . The other two books, Tyler and Dylan, feature his brothers stories. I liked this one the most out of the three books. I thought it had the most in the way of plot and love story. The characters were fun, especially little Lacey who definitely felt older than her age of almost 4. It was nice to catch up with some of the other characters from the earlier books. The author also introduces some other family members that I look forward to seeing in future books (Maybe?)
While I liked the book, I had some mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I felt that despite the speed at which their relationship developed, I believed in their relationship. Ultimately, it felt like it was based on more than lust. I loved how Jesse fell for his little pink cowgirl and her beautiful mother, Caitlin. But on the other hand, I was a little surprised at how quickly Caitlin fell into bed with Jesse, especially after her relationship with her ex-husband. It felt a bit off to me that she would give in that easily. I did enjoy their HEA though.
Being a part of the series, I do suggest that you read the other two before this one. There are recurring characters and a small story arc that might make a reader feel a little lost.
JESSE by C.H. Admirand is a wonderfully written contemporary romance set in Pleasure, Texas. It is the third and final in the "Secret Life of Cowboys" trilogy, but can be read as a stand alone. See,"Tyler" and "Dylan". The Garahan brothers believe in family, their family ranch and small town life. Jesse has had his heart broken not once but twice is isn't looking for love. Enter Danielle Brockway and her little girl Lacy. Follow Jesse,Danielle, and little Lacy on their road to find happiness, love with a few twists and turns. Another sassy, sexy, contemporary romance by this author. Written with the feel of real life characters with real life problems and who may find real life love. "Jesse" is a wonderful story from the first page to the last. I enjoy Ms. Admirand's stories, she pulls the readers into the story with her engaging characters and her honest feel of family, ranch life and small town life. Another must read by this author. I can not decide which of the Garahan brothers is my favorite, they are all so amazing who wouldn't want to find one of her own. Received for an honest review from the publisher and Net Galley. Details can be found at Sourcebooks, the author's website, and My Book Addiction and More.
This is the third book in a series about three brothers who live in the small town of Pleasure, Texas. Jesse is the youngest and lives with his brothers and their women. While he's happy for his family he can't help being a little jealous that he doesn't have someone warming his heart and his bed. That changes when he helps Danielle and her three year old daughter, Lacy, and soon becomes totally smitten with the two of them. What follows is a sweet but pretty hot romance that really grabs your attention tip the very end.
It was great to see Jesse finally finding a love of his own after reading both of his brothers' books. And having a little peek of both brothers was nice to read too. But really little Lacy stole the book from right under Jesse and Danielle's noses. She was too cute and stole my heart right along with the Garahan brothers. We were also introduced to the cousins and I definitely wouldn't mind reading their stories in the future. All in all, this was a nice wrap up of a series that I highly recommend to anyone who likes reading about sexy cowboys and the women strong enough to tame them. I can't wait to read more books by this author and am eagerly waiting her new series about the sisters from Ohio.
I reluctantly finished "Jesse" by C.H. Admirand so that I could give it my review. I'm sorry, but I was not enamored by this book. The character, Jesse Garahan, was a nice chap with a strong dedication to his family and ranch. His two brothers were also like-minded. I was not impressed with the heroine and her daughter though. Danielle was just divorced from her daughter Lacy's dad and was visiting her uncle to get back on track. Not a week after she arrives in town, she is "in love" with Jesse and they play this cat and mouse game with each other throughout the book. I really got irritated with the little-girl talk of Lacy and her hero-worshipping attachment to Jesse. It seems that the whole Garahan family made it their business to throw Jesse and Danielle together. I was not impressed with the fact that Jesse and Danielle were sexually active just after Danielle's divorce and also because of the presence of Lacy. It just seemed too sordid for me. Sorry that I can't give a better review.
I received a free Kindle copy of this book for my honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.
Jesse is the third book in The Secret Life of Cowboys series. IMHO it is the best one! I fell in love with Jesse in the first two books so enjoying him as the main character in this book was the best. Danielle is so protective of her little pink cowgirl I wasn't sure if she was going to let Jesse get close to either of them, some of the things that came out of that child's mouth had me cracking up, she is so precocious. The interaction between Dylan, Tyler and Jessie had me laughing out loud too and it was great seeing the way having women in their lives had changed the two older brothers, for the better I think! Highly recommend all three of these wonderful cowboys for a great escape! Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for review copy.
I wasn't sure what to expect considering I haven't read the first too books in the series but I was pleased with what I got. It was a sweet story that had me hoping Jesse and Dani would be able to find their way together.... and boy did they ever! Their love was sweet and strong... and the way Jesse feel for Lacy (Danielle's Daughter) had me tearing up, it was so sweet. Leave it to a pink cowgirl to tame a sexy cowboy!
The only thing I thought was a little lacking was their back stories... but like I said I haven't read the first two books and may it was explained in them... but even if it wasn't I was still satisfied enough to shrug and move on from any unanswered questions.
I liked Jesse's story much better than Tyler's. His and Danielle's hang ups seemed more normal and real. Still I think things moved oh sooo fast, but I still loved this story. I loved how accepting all the Garahan's were to both Danielle and Lacy. I loved Jesse with Lacy. I did keep hoping that Ronnie would announce the curse had come true and she did get pregnant with twins from the last book, but we never see that. I'd love to see how this working ranch would handle living arrangements once they all started having babies, because with the addition of Lucy all rooms are full now...
I want one of the Garahan brothers. I just love the comraderie they have together. They'll fight but still love each other. I liked how the need and the passion between Jesse and Danielle was portrayed. I liked the way the reluctance played out. What I really loved was Danielle's daughter, Lacy. She really brought the light into the whole scene. I'm really hoping we'll get to read a story on the hunky cousins.
I read this out of order since it was the only one in the series the library had. I felt like I was missing something at some points, like I should have read the earlier books, but not completely. The storylone was good, the characters too, it was an easy read. I had issues with Lacy's age. It didn't fit her level of conversation or actions all the time. She should have been 6 maybe. Like, who has their not yet 4 yr old go take a bath on their own? No help or supervision? Overall I liked it.
AMAZING!!! There are just no two ways about it :) Hot, sexy, sassy, passionate, gripping, thrilling, Big-O inspiring :) While a fan of the series I have to say that the depth and emotion in Jesse just blew me away :) CH Admirand is a pro when it comes to writing super sexy cowboys, no doubt, but THIS installment in the Cowboys series has hooked me good :)
a heartwarming story to end the series. how can you not love the little cowgirl Lacy? out of the mouth of babes comes the truth. It might not have the substance of the other two books but it did give Jesse the HEA he wanted like his brothers. Would love to see what they are all up to a few years from now.
I found that this novel bored the shit right outta me. I couldn't deal with how slow and such little conflict the novel had. It didn't have me in my seat bouncing up and down. Granted, I got a few good laughs, which is why the novel received two stars, without those few laughs I would of gave it one.
This beautiful love story will steal your heart as C.H. Admirand brings The Secret Life of Cowboys trilogy to a close. To read my review in its entirety, please visit http://www.bookreviewsandmorebykathy....
Really easy read with characters I enjoyed. The Garahan brothers are my kind of cowboys. Now I just have to go back and read the first two books as I did it again...read the series out of order . My specialty it seems.
Loved all 3 books. I wanted a little more closure for the series though. Wanted Emily to officially be a Garahan and to hear Ronnie make an announcement that we can only assume was coming as a result of her curse.
