Who knew one terrible mistake could lead your mother to thinking you're insane?
Mimi Vivian sure didn't.
And to her utter horror, her mother will stop at nothing to get her daughter back. Back to normal.
This is where Xavier MacKenzie comes in -psychologist, charming and polite. To average people, anyway.
There's something about Mimi which pushes his buttons -something which makes him reveal his true nature to this bold, shameless girl. A familiar aura surrounding her; something he can't quite put his finger on.
Probably it's because Mimi makes him want to hit her with a frying pan. Probably because he feels as if she's family.
Or maybe it's because they're chasing after the same thing.
I love this novel, I really do, but I have a little problem with it: The romance between Xavier and Mimi was practically the exact same as Skyla and Adam's from Summer of Adam Devereux.
I know, I know, I'm being picky and annoying, this really was a good book, one that did deserve four stars. I'm just a pernickity person. A perfectionist who can do nothing perfectly.
Maybe if I hadn't read this so soon after reading Summer of Adam Devereux, my ratings for this book would be a lot higher, but I did so they're not.
One of my favourite things about Ramisa's books is that they're not cliché, they keep you guessing and are one hundred percent original. This book did keep me guessing with the main plot, but as far as the romance is concerned, because I'd read Summer of Adam Devereux, I could make educated (and often correct) guesses of what would come next.
There is one big part of the romantic plot which is different though, and that made me happy!
So yeah, great book, but I hope for your current books you have a different idea for the romance sub-plot!
