UPDATE I just barely downloaded and read the NEW updated version, and WOW, all the problems fixed. What a great artist that she'd fix everything in order to make her fans happy. For that, she gets that extra star!
Finally made an account to make a good review. While I can see many spelling and grammatical errors, I'm willing to forgive. After all, every book has flaws and nothing is perfect. But, realistically, that's why it loses a star for me, because overall, this book was a really good read.
I've read my fair share of werewolf books, and this one got me hooked right from the start. These werewolves aren't like many we read in modern literature. It's really a whole new concept of werewolves that I really enjoy and almost wish I'd see more of. The characters are funny, witty, realistic and they feel very real. I can see that a lot of work went into this book, and for that, everyone should really give it a shot!
Ordered from LuLu.com on Nov 30th. Received the book Dec 9th-- just to give an idea of how quickly the printing process goes. Looking forward to reading this.
I would also like to note that the author is dedicated to her book-- as soon as she realized the grammatical errors, she pulled the (self published) book and went through the text with a fine toothed comb with another editor. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to buy the revised copy or continue reading the older version, though I am leaning more towards buying another copy. The portion of the novel that I did read was quite good for a first-time novelist.
Very bad writing. There were TONS of spelling and grammar mistakes that it was embarrassing. There was a lot of bad characterizing and nothing unique or very gripping about this book. I got bored a lot and found myself disliking every single character. :( I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I finally read the book a few months ago, and I really like the basic premise of the book. There are some spelling and grammatical errors, but I can look past that to the main story, which really is decent. I felt like there were parts that could be more developed, or places where the scene would move better is the background information was shared earlier in the book so the action could keep moving.
I do have a hard time with Rebekah getting money from the mob. I guess I have no idea how or why a college student would get money from the mob, I would think she would get student loans or something instead. I would have liked to understand that situation a little better. To be honest, werewolves aren't really my thing, but I did enjoy this book and I am really impressed with my best friend seeing this through to the end. Good job!
