In Click Millionaires, the online business expert Scott Fox offers inspiration to those looking to make a move from the 9 to 5 work schedule to a more flexible online business. He shows how anyone can start a profitable Internet business with no technical knowledge, startup capital or a physical product.
Admittedly, I have come across several books that detail the processes and models of making money online. However, what I found impressive about Click Millionaires is that it shows you the steps of how to do it. What makes it even more authentic is that he uses case studies of real people to enhance the practicability of the concepts he recommends.
While I find the book wonderful for beginners, I have to admit that the information is a bit too basic for those who already have online businesses. I would not recommend it to someone looking for advanced insight into running his or her online business.
Click millionaires is a nice read for those who are new to the world of e-business. Fortunately, every business needs effort, time and some money. Being click millionaire also needs some sacrifices. Being click miionaire is cheaper than opening a physical business. You only need great content, some motivation and specific knowledge.
There are few things which must be understood precisely, before reading this book :
1. Digital Marketing: Digital marketing is the fuel of your online business or website. It is essential to understand basics of SEM, PPC ads and affiliate marketing.
2. SEO: When you start working on your website, you have to understand that a well researched content with right keywords will rank you higher in google search engine. Understanding basics of SEO will definitely give you a better pay off.
3. Copywriting: Copywriting is the soul of your business. Hiring a good copywriter will definitely help you in content of the website and sales generation.
How many times have you heard of a "get-rich-quick-scheme"? It seems that everywhere, people are trying to set up their own blogshop or something similar. But whenever I look at the different sites, I have two main questions running in my mind: "how do they advertise themselves?" and "how do they persuade people to buy things?" This book, Click Millionaires, aims to show you through practical steps how to make money through the Internet.
The book is divided into 7 sections - Identifying your lifestyle goals, The principals behind these lifestyle businesses, Read about the different case studies, Find a profitable niche market, Learn ways to grow market share and make money and finally, Create an action plan. All in all, the book will inspire you (if at least for the moment), to go out there and do something you love. The steps described seem practical and there are many useful links given.
All in all, this book seems like a complement to The Four Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris, which (if I remember correctly), also advocates using online businesses to create passive income. And I really liked how it emphasises on doing it yourself (and hiring help when needed) and for some reason, the tiny section on why you should not depend on Facebook completely ^^
Of course, I don't think this book is for everyone. While there are people dissatisfied with their jobs, there are probably lawyers, doctors, translators, etc who are having fun working. For them, they don't really need to read this book, although they should if they're thinking of starting a blog or vlog just to share their experiences (because they love their job so much).
An on another level, this book is thought-provoking. Personally, I wondered "is this suited for me?" I'm not working now (and not allowed to work by the School) so I don't know the answer yet. And on a more 'macro' lever, I wonder what will happen if there's suddenly a mass exodus of people going to set up their own businesses. Will companies learn to become more efficient with fewer workers? Will this compel companies to make work-life balance and job satisfaction for the remaining employees a priority instead of a "good-to-have"? And how will this change consumer spending?
In conclusion, this is an interesting book to read. This is especially so if you're a Internet-entrepreneur to be, because the book provides lots of practical ideas in an entertaining format. (And, it's a real life example of how to market your product without sounding pushy^^)
Disclaimer: I got a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a free and honest review.
I picked this book up, unsure of what to expect, but I was very surprised with the knowledge that I gained from reading it. It starts off by asking you some really deep questions as to what you really want from your life, how would you like to live your life and throughout the book, it goes back to this. If you can build the online business, you can live the life you want, from where ever you want. I know the lifestyle is possible and the book reaffirms it. It covers a range of topics all relating to building an online business with the ultimate objective of creating the lifestyle. Topics Include Blogging, podcasting, Youtube videos, digital download products for building your own brand. And then goes on to affiliate marketing and freelancing if you don't have your own product/brand to sell. The book gives away enough knowledge for you to understand the overall perspective whilst points you in the direction to actually implement that topic. Once you find the topic that is suitable for your need, you can explore that topic in greater details. For me, I particularly learnt a lot about forums and the benefits of having one. I have a small audience and platform, but I was missing how to grow the audience and grow traffic. An online forum was the answer. I set it up in a week after reading that section and now I'm trying to drive the traffic to the forum. It has been very exciting. Its always about monetising the topic and there is a range of plans for each topic from online ads to sponsorships to selling your own product or even affiliates products. This is the new way to build a business. The old ways have been overwritten by these new rules and if you are looking for a way to get started, this is definitely the book to read.
Imagine having a work life balance, it's hard isn't it. Mr.Fox leads the reader through the discovereries of digital business building. One that does not require venture capital or maximizing profits. There is a way to work in a field you like, one you can be happy in, with less stress, less politics, where you make your own schedule. Follow your interests, instead of following upper management. You can do it, and you don't have to give up you hobbies and dreams you allow them to lead you to income.
I am a reader, a hobbyist, a searcher of knowledge. This is one of the requirements he has listed. Do you like to participate in blogs, websites, podcasts etc ? I do this every time I get online. I could use this time to invest in a future that looks better than the 9-5 drudgery of the norm. For me, that alone sold this book for me.
The books was a fascinating tour through who I am and where my talents/interests are. There are many exercises to work through defining what direction might work best for the individual. I recommend this to anyone that dose not feel the need to rush, watch the clock, listen to office politics, work long hours, miss out on family time.
I found this book to be very helpful. Scott Fox promotes creating Internet businesses as a way to "work less and live more." He makes lots of very good points and provides countless suggestions and information that is valuable. He covers a lot of different business formats like blogging, freelancing, publishing, etc. I think the person who would benefit from this book is someone like myself who has a solid business idea, but needs to know where to start in order to get it off the ground. There are tools in this book for brainstorming, creating and evaluating business ideas, so even if the reader doesn't have a business idea, they'd at least walk away with some suggestions as to how to get started. This book has left me very motivated to get my business idea together and up and running ASAP.
As you can tell, it took me more than a year to finish this book. It is not a big book but the middle section is dry as hay. The interviews weren't too insightful and the advice or answers they gave were just generic and cliched. What saved this read was the last few chapters when the writer finally covered some very relevant resources and i thought he personally offered some very good perspectives towards the end.
This is a really great book for beginners who are looking to get into the online business modal. He gives you a really good baseline on tips to start the business. What I think is valuable is he helps you figure out your why to wanting to start your own venture. Developing a lifestyle you want and have your business support that lifestyle. Not the other way around. The only thing I didn't like too much is the advertisements for his websites and businesses. A little excessive but not end of the world.
Excellent resource for anyone looking to make money on the internet. The author is a millionaire himself from taking his own advice(he donates the income from book sales to charity). I like that this is NOT a get-rich quick book filled with hype and empty promises. The author teaches that we should start out part-time building our income producing asset overtime slowly but surely, gaining momentum as we get more knowledge, produce more content, and build our infrastructure. He covers the most profitable ways to make money on line, how they work and most importantly, how to get started using each of them. I found the information to be practical, and immediately applicable. This is a great book I highly recommend.

My friend lend me this book when she found out I've started working on my online business. Would I buy my own copy? Nope. The book does have a lot of insight on how to start an online business however I found it too basic. Perhaps I've done too much research as I already knew many of the things. It doesn't help that the book is quite old and a lot of the resources are outdated. I think these days a big part of online business is connected to social media and that sadly wasn't discussed much. I didn't find the case studies very relatable either. It seemed that people just got lucky in getting successful - what about marketing? Nevertheless this book was inspirational and the part about how to appear as an expert was very useful to me. I believe if the author writes an updated book, it would most certainly be a better one.
While the book is getting dated, the principles are not. Start with a passion, begin with building content, and expand on the concepts. Many of the techniques here are in need of an update, and even the signature website for the author is no longer active, the book will help you think about a strategy forward, and is worth the quick read.

This book felt incredibly mediocre compared to T4HWW by Tim Ferris.
If you're not good with computers, this book may however be the better alternative for you. For a millennial like myself, it feels very condescending to hear the author refer to youtube channels as TV programs, and podcast as radioshows. This made it hard for me to take the book seriously.
By devoting aprox. 268 pages to incredibly successful and commonly known examples of people who have made it on the internet Scott Fox makes this dream job feel unattainable despite that he's writing about how possible it should be for any and every one to achieve this.
During the very last chapter there are 2 inspiring yet down right lacking pages about how to implement the click millionaire lifestyle. In my personal opinion, these should take up about 200 pages more of this 270 page long book.
By the amount of marketing implemented in the book towards Fox's own ventures, I felt more like I was being sold to, than informed by this book.
This book is about “Lifestyle Business,” where one prioritizes “lifestyle over growth and profits.” It is about running a business more on your terms than the old standard show up at the office 5 days a week, 9-5. Fox’ suggestions instruct how to run your business anywhere in the world, beach or office, as internet businesses. With questions asked in this book, you are directed in how to build the business you desire, living the life you desire from wherever you’d like to live.
Some of the topics covered include: 1) Finding a lucrative niche on the Internet that matches interests and skills; 2) Choosing an online business model: from blogs, nozzles, and audience communities to digital delivery, online services, affiliate marketing--even physical products; 3) Positioning themselves as experts; 4) Building an audience; 5) Designing the wanted lifestyle; 6) Balancing passion and profits to realize personal definition of success. To back up the chapters are stories of regular proprietors who use the methods described to live and work in their own unique environments from blogging, MLM, YouTubes, etc.
Fox also gives a free membership to his Internet Business Coaching and Training Forum at ClickMillionaires.com as part of the package. It gives access for one to “ask questions, develop business ideas and online marketing strategies, meet fellow entrepreneurs, and get personalized help from Scott Fox and his team-all free with purchase.”
“Click Millionaires” offers good tips on starting an online business of any type and is valuable in outlining how to go about developing any endeavor you desire.
its okish. nothing you wont find online but its good to have all in one place to refer to whenever you want to. It also has a little outdated information since It was published in 2012. Had to skim fast through some parts as they were not relevant to me but it can serve as a reference book if you decide to venture into any online business.
Even though this book is 12 years old at the time of this review I still really enjoyed it. A lot of the references found in it are outdated of course, but a lot of the information Scott preaches about pertaining to starting and running a business is still relevant today. If you don't have anything else to read at the moment, I'd say definitely give it a go.
A very good primer for anyone contemplating going into business via non-software applications online business formats (buying, selling, publishing). Packed with ideas and references (albeit dated), it is also a commercial for the author on his other product and services offerings.
I first purchased this book digitally by the end I knew I needed to have it sitting in front of me so that next time i read it I could make notes and mark pages to return to. There's so much information and a really great resource.
Good insight about how to make a living online and create a lifestyle business. The author gives specific examples and cases studies of book that can be done in real life.
Empty platitudes and lacking significant content. Author spends a lot of time talking about how much he makes and I’m doubtful of the validity of those claims
Unlike a lot of internet entrepreneur books, Click Millionaires provides authentic and practical tips on the ‘how’ not just the ‘why’. Minimal personal story but big on content - the way I like my business books.
Click Millionaires: Work Less, Live More with an Internet Business You Love by Scott Fox is a book for those hoping to make money online. Don't let the title fool you though, this is not a get rich quick book but a high level view of what it takes to create another income stream.
Click Millionaires: Work Less, Live More with an Internet Business You Love by Scott Fox (website) is an exciting book which came to me just at the right time. I was looking for other sources of income, but didn’t want to work myself to death and be able to spend some time with the kids. I have tried freelance programming but never made any money at it (ended up with making $2 an hour or close to that) and gave up when I had to run for months after people to pay.
As you well know, I like books and have a book blog. While the main reason for the blog is not to make money, it sure would be nice to at least pay the hosting bills or buy some holiday toys for the kids. Most book bloggers will tell you that they’re not in it for the money, and I believe them. But we all have an Amazon Associates account – don’t we?
Making money off associate accounts or on-line at all is an art form, time consuming and not as easy as you might think. We all know that the people selling hope are not selling a plan –and without a plan your dreams of Internet stardom are just that – dreams. I don’t think I’ll become a millionaire, but a few hundred bucks a month could go a long way Why spend energy working nights, stocking shelves, when I can spend that energy on my own little business?
This book gives an excellent overview of ways to make money online through freelancing, vlogging, blogging, podcasting , etc. and how you can make all of these work together to your advantage. One reading, you can pick an avenue(s), research more and start their small online business almost immediately. There are many other sources at the end of the book for such research.
The reason this book excited me was not because of the information (as excellent as it is) but because of the ideas that were popping into my head while I was reading it. Some of them I immediately discarded off the bat, others I had to think about before discarding them – but I ended up with a few that I think might actually be descent.
Click Millionaires written by Scott Fox impressed me because of his candor which I felt was honest information that can be utilized to improving one's income. It is an intelligent, genuinely realistic book of tips and strategies that can be used in the e-commerce community.
I became interested in the e-commerce community about three years ago after attending yet another “great” new income genre which was young and upcoming in the communication industry but it is still based on the pyramid model. Most people are looking for venues that will change their financial status especially during struggling economic times. Being the “boss” and setting the standards for you business while increasing wealth, supporting the family and improving the how to use your time is paramount to most people. Becoming an entrepreneur is a terrific option.
In my understanding of these methods to the golden pot have a fragrance of deception. Many of the “well known experts” and the numerous advertisements about how a poor struggling single parent became a millionaire after a short time under a six month time frame by transforming their lives via e-commence click- to-pay businesses. These are the hooks drawing in the unsuspecting and let's face it; if it is that easy all of us should be millionaires. Where is the money?
Reading a few books and blogs there must be heavy traffic to your website but the method directing this extremely heavy traffic to your door appears to me to be less than honest and ethical. However, reading Click Millionaires Mr. Fox's strategies are more realistic and within the reach for a determined entrepreneur. Mr. Fox's book lacks that false “pie in the sky vibe” or hook that I found in other click- to- success books. This was tremendously refreshing and I felt as though Mr. Fox was not just promoting himself but offer viable information helping readers understand the process to increasing their income, upgrading their lifestyle through e-commerce . Mr. Fox's focus is on being helpful to others which will in turn increase your income without tricks and shady deals. I am impressed with Mr. Fox's book Click Millionaires and feel comfortable recommending his book to anyone interested in e-commerce. I would strongly suggest to individuals seriously considering the e-commerce approach start by reading Click Millionaires first in order to make an informed decision, avoiding disappointment and lost of the money you don't want to lose.
The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat. —Lily Tomlin, actress and comedienne
This is how this book begins… This book, very similar to The $100 Startup or the 4-Hour Work Week, but not quite as practical or useful. The author wanted to help you design a lifestyle business, something that works around your life style, instead of profit and growth. The kind of business, web-based, that works around you at your convenience, instead of inside a large corporation with a 9 to 5 schedule. He calls his model “Click Millionaire”, in which your business uses websites, e-commerce, digital publishing and social media to make money supporting your free life style.
The book is divided into 7 parts. The first 1/3 is basically all the reasons to get you out of your present “rat race”. The chapters were a bit redundant and full of fillers, but the theme was to tell you that you are now working to help other people, aka “your boss” to make money, which is a waste of your time and effort, so your life needs a big make-over. It’s a bit ironic that every chapter of the book ends with a link to the author’s “Click Millionaire” website, so indirectly, all readers of this book are making money for the author’s online business.
The rest of the book is a bit more useful. The author talked about creating websites, writing blogs, advertising, increasing traffic, as well as freelancing. According to his logic. People with special skills can achieve the lifestyle easier by serving a niche of the market, but normal people who know nothing do not need to despair, either. Everything you need is on his Click Millionaire website. You just have to have the right mentality and a good plan.
I’ll say this book is a bit more bluff than practical, but for desperate people who needs to make money utilizing the web. It might not hurt to give this a look, just be prepared that you’ll need the author's consultation service to proceed further…
(Thanks to AMACOM for providing a free copy through NetGalley for my review)
Even though the ideas in this book are no completely original what I did like was the author has taken the conversion process one step further than most other books. My impression was that the author highlights the concepts of Internet selling but actually provides real examples of what you need to do to make the dream a reality.
It is unfortunate that you need to use the terms 'millionaires', 'work less, live more' with these books because it can make the title seem some what like a get rich easy scheme. I certainly understand why the book needs to have a title like this (to attract readers) however I would recommend people not be put off by the title if it somehow appears 'too slick' at first glance. The book contains a wealth of really handy and well thought out information that anyone looking to sell on the Internet would gain benefit from. As I say, my feeling is that this book actually takes the process just that little bit further than other titles I have read.
Most importantly, this book does not claim to show you how to get rich easy but using the leverage of the Internet it does demonstrate how you can earn more that what your expectation might be. You still need to do the hard work, have a good concept and have a bit of luck but what the book I think demonstrates that many people are already doing something they love and converting it to something they can earn some revenue from is not a huge step. These are the people that will get the most from this book.
In summary, a practical and level headed approach to the opportunities the Internet provides. It goes deeper into the practicalities of making this possible that most similar titles I have read. The book acknowledges that hard work, dedication and some luck are still factors but it does help readers make the most of what may come their way.
I'd say this book would be more accurately titled as, "Beginner's Handbook to Starting your Online Business."
The current title gives off a sort of tips of achieving this lifestyle type of vibe. In the book, Scott goes over all of the avenues of earning money online; such as Youtube, blogging, podcasting, affiliate marketing and more. In each section, he gives you a how to step by step, the pros and cons of that avenue, resources to get started, and my personal favorite: Interviews with people who are successful in the respected field.
I'd definitely recommend picking this book up if you're looking to start your online business. It's short, concise, and easy to read - but don't expect anything more than just a beginners handguide.
