Made understanding MRI physics really easy. Learned more than from 6 lectures.

This book is a quick read, and it breaks down in reeeeally simple terms the physics behind MRI. It is far from satisfyingly complete (it is after all 100 pages, filled with cartoon drawings and large text), but it is a great way to get started before reading more advanced material. While it may look a lot like a children's book, it contains truely relevant information, but mainly gives you a mental image that helps you cope with these atomic level concepts. No math involved.

The only negative aspect was the extremely poor editing. Many pictures did not include reference titles, even though they were cited in the text, sentences missed verbs, or had the wrong punctuation. It was a bit of a mess.

Also, it does not ultimately tell you everything that matters in fMRI.

If you're studying MRI for whatever reason and finding it hard to comprehend, I can't recommend this book enough.

After watching introductory lectures and a Cambridge textbook, I was still really struggling to understand the basic principles of MRI. I think the main problem is that they saw MRI as a process that is so complicated that there is no point in trying to 'dumb it down', forcing students to pore over their materials to try to piece together their own understanding of how it works.

This book rings true to its title by taking students through the process with an abundance of metaphors and cheerful illustrations to emphasise the logic behind MRI. I personally found it's 90s magazine style formatting very appealing, and although it is an older book, nothing springs out to me as outdated - after all, lectures in 2022 borrow from this book to form the content. If you're looking to understand MRI and teach it to others, this book is a great starting point.

This book made the formidable topic of MRI physics much more understandable (and palatable). Straight to the point (at least in the beginning - the book faltered a bit towards the end) and the memorable cartoons made this an accessible reading to those with little MRI background.

This book made me realise the ingenuity of the people who invented MRI - how do they even come up with the ideas of utilising proton spins to generate images is absolutely bonkers! Sounds like something straight out of sci-fi novels but this is actually real and has tangible influence in how patients are managed.

Overall a must read for people who want to first get into MRI.

This book actually very good, they describe how MRI works in simple terms. Although the moment the graphs appear, the explanation start to get really difficult to grasp.

Its basically "MRI for Dummies". For that, it's quite good.

Amazing book, it definitely lives up to its title turning and monstrously complex subject into something everyone can understand
