A broad overview of the different aspects of publishing academics should be aware of. The book makes a nice work of reference for the most basic understanding of book and journal publishing. The book also covers online discussion, creating posters for poster sessions and the process of peer review. Not useful for the experienced academic, the book serves as a good introduction to the business behind "publish or perish."
