When Franklin loses a library book, he dons a disguise to hide from Mrs. Goose, and then retraces his steps. This Level 2 first reader contains longer stories, varied sentences, increased vocabulary, more difficult visual clues and some repetition.
I really enjoyed reading this book out loud to my 3 year old granddaughter. We enjoy Franklin some of his books more than the others. In this one there wasn't any 'tantrums' that sometimes he does have or 'bossiness' that one of his friends often times does as well. It was just a nice story of teaching children how to be responsible.
Franklin checks out a library book that teaches him to make a kite; he and his friend Bear take the book outdoors and make their kits and play and enjoy them. But then later on Franklin realizes he has lost his library book! He wants to avoid his librarian and his friend that would like to check it out. Only to back track his steps and find his friends all making kits WITH his book! He finds out later that Bear took it home with him so all along the book wasn't 'lost' but he knew he should be more careful with 'borrowed' property.
This book is good for grades k-2. It is a good book for beginning readers and it can teach about being responsible for what you lose. The genre is modern fantasy.
Franklin's Library Book Jennings, Sharon Life lesson book about what to do when you loose a library book. Franklin has to learn how to be responsible and keep those things he borrows safe.
