This book picks up right where part one left off. In part 2 you get to connect more with Liberty as she tries to move on because she has lost so much in her life. Somad is still after her and will not rest until he has her. Po is also trying to get over losing the love of his life Scarlett. Somehow these two come together and it's hard to figure out if it is because of their losses or just fate. Liberty's past is revisited and we get to actually experience Sierra Leone through her eyes. They say keep your enemies close, but when they are your family it's sometimes hard to see. This book had me on an emotional roller-coaster. One minute I was sad, the next I was angry and ready to jump through the book. I completed this book in one day because I could not put it down. By the end of the book I was screaming and couldn't help but to say I missed A'shai! Poor Liberty! Ashley and Jaquavis put it down with this one, a definite must read!

Ugh. This was a train wreck. I’m only reading the next book because I just wanna see who survives. I guess if you enjoy reading about dumb idiots falling for the dumbest lies ever and being manipulated like kindergarteners even though they’re supposed to be street wise adults, then this book is for you.

Not bad! A lot better than book 1! Poor Liberty just can't catch a break. Dahlia is crazy as hell and delusional and Po, the sick ass bastard.... Dahlia have him doing drugs and thinking the world is out to get him all over a piece of ass! I read most of this book in one night( so its good), i've laughed and thought that Po is the typical man, get a nasty freaky whore and lost his mind. When he lose everything then he'll see the error of his ways!..... well On to book 3, lets see who lives and who died.

Note: there is an error where if your not paying attention you may be lost for a bit, in the bathroom airport scene the author writes "liberty, when I'm certain it should be Dahlia because liberty wasn't there"

'Two hearts...two hearts that beat as one...'

Murderville 2 kick starts the drama as Liberty is lost and alone in a world full of people that want to control her and eventually destroy her for no apparent reason other than pure evil. Po is a hustler seeking riches and a gamble at nobility, he loses his small fortune and his lady love. Liberty wanders through life trying to find her purpose, even though she longs for peace and a love that was silenced by a tragic impulsive act. Liberty's vulnerability and innocence draws Po to her and they embark on a whirlwind relationship that's built on danger, determination and perseverance. Two individuals connected by one person's heart. Life and death ties them together but their past loves haunt all decisions that might birth their possibilities as a couple. Their paths cross and the common denominator bind them together in a whirlwind of bullets, money, trial and errors.

When revenge, greed, manipulation, sexual brutality and jealousy attack innocence...destruction is certain, but whose will it be? Friendships wax cold, romance fizzles out, families are reunited yet the decision remains, which way to go, who to trust, when to leave and how to walk away. Murderville 2 continues Liberty's saga filled with the usual drama, but is unable to capture the original vibrancy and essence depicted in #1. Liberty's role as victim becomes redundant and the storyline feels stretched. Key components were present to ensure that the author's skills are visible, yet it lacks that explosive execution that we expect when we see A&J's stamp. Personally, I'm ready for the authors' to step outside the box and give their diehard fans a whole new view...something completely opposite of what they have delivered in the past...a fresher voice aligned with their magnificent style of painting a vivid picture. 3.78

Book 2 didn’t give me what book 1 did. Although I was happy to see Trixie pop up in this one! I was so excited that she survived when her and Liberty made a run for it in the first one. I had high hopes for Po but he was such a disappointment 😔 Of course it ended with a cliffhanger so I have to read the last one to see how it all pans out.

So I listened to this series on Audible because my life stays in motion, but I absolutely loved the entire series. I cried got mad cursed a few characters out and was emotionally connected to the series. My favorite was the Black Dahlia so that is a definite must read...but trust me start at the beginning and you will not be disappointed.

This book was really good. It’s an oldie and I’m surprised it took me this long to read this series.

Now of course I’m stressed the hell out. Dahlia is wreaking havoc all over Po’s life and this stupid nigga has no clue because he’s mesmerized by her beauty and her pussy. And now she done turned his ass out with the coke. I can’t wait for book three to witness his downfall because he deserves everything he BETTER get (Ashley and Jaquavis don’t play with me!). Everybody leaving his life through death or whatever other means is gone due to some circumstance involving her. Omega, Ayo (I think that’s his name), Trixie, Liberty, Rocco, and unbeknownst to him, his and Liberty’s baby. Which when is that shit gonna come out? Is he gonna be too strung out and depressed to do anything about what she did? Or is she gonna have too much power and control?

All I know is Ashley and Jaquavis be pissing me off (which obviously I can’t get enough of since I have read ALL their books) but these issues better get resolved in this third book.

Oh I just loved, loved, loved this series!! The characters were real to life, and the dramatic situations were so exciting. The authors had me on the edge of my seat, wonder what was going to happen next. I couldn't stand Dahlia, and I hope Liberty gets her revenge in the end. I couldn't believe how Po just let Dahlia come in and manipulate him to the point that she was pretty much running the show. He talked about Liberty not know how to play her position, and being so naive, but he wasn't too much better. His lack of experience and bad judgement, caused him to allow Dahlia to misled him down the wrong path. She pushed and lied so much til she got rid of everyone around him that truly loved and cared about him. Well I'm on to book three, because I'm curious as to how things are going to pop off. With Po moving so sloppily, I'm sure Liberty is able to pull it together and out smart them.

Sheesh I hate Dahlia. And Po so blinded by her that he can't see what she's doing I swear she's going to get him killed. How can you believe a chick you don't know over you're best friend smh I swear coochie can blind some men smh. I hope Dahlia die in book 3 can't stand her. I had to make myself not think about hating her just so I could finish this book.

A very captivating story. I love how I was consistently mad at the choices these characters were making, but still felt so emotionally connected to them. I can't wait to finish the last book.

I thought the book started off great but the instalove was something I didn’t want to happen, theres a lot of unnecessary sexual scenes and derogatory language, the situations in the book felt rushed unlike the first book and then we get to the one trans character in the book being called the F word as well as being referred to as a “he woman” which is highly transphobic. So I will definitely not be reading anymore by these 2.

To also add to this, the depictions of different races in the series itself includes the most stereotypical version of it you can think of. And the amount of violence and traumatic events that are being described in so much detail were very triggering for me to sit and try to listen through.

I started this last year and put it down for a month or so.
It started off OK but things took a turn that I'm not sure would have happened?
So Po is supposed to be street smart and canny yet he believes things someone (Dahlia) he's know for 2 minutes over what's supposed to be someone he's in love with (Liberty - who's known said person for a whole lot longer than he has)?
It was too easy to get in his head and that didn't make sense to me.
I also needed Liberty and Rocko to do better in terms of recon.
Characters that have been in bad situations numerous time not exercising caution irritate me.
The book ended on a cliffhanger. I might revisit to see how it all ends. But this is probably my least favorite series by this author.

This time, I read book one; in correct ordering of the series, and plan to listen to the audiobook version. Cary Hite is a great narrator, with the sound effects, I prefer this over reading the paperback version. I can finish it within a week or few sittings.

I plan to read Antoinette Ashley's Ethic series, and butterfly one based on a in-person recommendation last week.

This version so far is quite graphic and disgusting with the sexual brutality's scenes; otherwise, I will see how this one plays out. My main issue with street/urban lit is that we are constantly reading the regurgitation of the drug game/kingpin story, and feel that urban neighborhoods have to be more than just selling dope to cope and living the glamourous life. However, what interests me with this story is because of the love interest, the pace of the story, and other forms of enslavement (i.e. human trafficking, workers in the drug game, poverty and what one is wiling to do to eat).

I do see the consistency with Ashley writing, in her Ethic series and just starting Butterfly one, that there may be a dope game but love interest and somewhat fairytale love interest (dead or alive; seems like most of the women dread and harbor on the man they lost; ghost lover).

I really liked the first one, however, I requested the last book in the trilogy that I plan to read.

I borrowed a copy to listen to while driving or before going to bed.

I couldn't put the book down which continued with Liberty trying to survive without Ashai and get away form Samad. Liberty meet a new man name Po through a shootout which he came to her rescue from.Samad trying to.kill.her. Samad found out that Po help Liberty escape and took.something valuable to him and order to receive it Po had to turn liberty over back to samad because Po had a heart so he went back for her and kill Samad. Liberty return back to Africa searching for her cousin Dahlia which both were split up during the time her family was killed. Liberty cousin is not whom she claim to be and very ruthless. You can't even trust family.

This is legit so stupid lmfao. Everyone is so street smart but are the dumbest characters I’ve ever read. So liberty loved Ashai so much she was sleeping with someone else and in love months later. Scarlett was so perfect but her body was cold before Poe was lusting over someone else. Daliah held no power over omega but it was that simple to kill him. They want me to believe it’s that simple to start selling drugs and become a kingpin in a new city. Lmfao like this is simply not a good book. And I’m only reading book 3 to see if everyone dies lol.

My, my, my....where do I start? Poor Liberty just cannot catch a break. She's lost so much and endured so much pain but her resilience is beautiful. Poe is so flawed. He wants to be a boss so badly but he has no self-discipline and a man with no discipline is a dangerous man. I love Rocko! He is so thoroughbred, my type of man. Dahlia is a true snake in the grass. She conned her way through the entire book. Just pure evil and doesn't have a loyal bone in her body. Can't wait to read book 3. The Colemans know they can write a story.

I was happy to see liberty find love again I hated dahlias character, I hated her and Po's betray and it disappointed me that Po wasn't smarter than he was to see the schemes of libertys cousin. I'm looking forward to reading more. I'm hoping things will be better in the next book. I also wanted the murderville ship to be caught and the Beth lady to get hers. It made me sick to know Po knew and still did business with them. There's no coming Brad bbn from that.

This is a great series so far! I’m so disappointed with Po!!!! I can’t believe that he betrayed Liberty and fell for Dahlia’s evil schemes!!!! Poor Liberty just can’t catch a break!!! Dahlia reminds me of Leah (in Prada Plan). As a matter of fact, I’m trying to decide which one of them is the worst!!!!

I really like Rocco, he’s a loyal friend.
I hope that he and Liberty win in book 3. I’m definitely looking forward to reading book 3.
