I'm writing this review in English, hoping that it will reach non-Arabic speakers, as a part of my role in supporting Palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸
Ghassan Kanafani is one of the most important Palestinian writers who expressed Palestine honestly. In this book, there are short stories that tell daily scenes from occupied Palestine. All stories, although being difficult to imagine, are much less terrible than reality.
I hope that all those searching for the truth will not limit themselves to the Israeli and Western media because they rely on false propaganda, marginalizing the Palestinians, and ignoring the crimes committed against them on a daily basis. I invite them to read and listen to the real history and present of Palestine, and here is some important information that they you can rely on:
1- In May 2019, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said that the number of martyrs since the catastrophe until now - without counting the martyrs of wars - is close to one hundred thousand, who were slaughtered in massacres that wiped out entire villages from existence, between an old man, an elderly woman, a child, a man
and a woman.

2- The number of people who were displaced in 1948 was close to 800,000 Palestinians, and the number of villages destroyed at the time was 531 out of 774 in 71 massacres.
————————————————————————
3- In 1950, Israel issued a law called "Absentee Property". Under this law, they were given the right to seize the property of all those who were displaced after 1948
Due to this law, 350 colonies were established between 1948 and 1953.

4- Laws have been passed from the time of the British Mandate to demolish homes for flimsy reasons. These laws allowed for the control and demolition of property even without trial or charge.
And it was said in a text: "It is permissible for any military commander to demolish a house or building or destroy anything planted"
It means that he can demolish a house over its owners' heads by the force of law!

5- The Prawer plan to Judaize the Inhabitants of the Negev desert and displace approximately forty thousand Palestinians, which targeted the largest area of land, out of a thousand kilometers that Arab Bedouin communities owned there, only a hundred kilometers remain!
————————————————————————
6- Israel built the Annexation Wall at a distance of 708 km. This barrier prevents many farmers from entering their lands without an entry permit from the Israeli Civil Administration.
The permits are for a specified period, and are for the owner of the land only, and it is forbidden to accompany workers or other farmers.
This contributed to the general idea: to seize land and restrict the movement of its people.

7- In 1969 a law was passed stating that any private property that the custodian of government property considers public property will be so, unless proven otherwise!
That means the right of proof has been transferred from the oppressor who wants to seize the land to the oppressed who owns the land!
Taking into account that this was 50 years ago, so the existence of proof of ownership of lands inherited from hundreds of years ago was impossible.

8- Between 1968 and 1979, 47 square kilometers in the West Bank were confiscated for military purposes necessary for the occupation.
Later, the Israeli Supreme Court said: The seizure of private property with the aim of building civilian settlements does not contradict the principles of customary international law, if this building meets military needs!
————————————————————————
9- They built bypass roads that allow Israeli settlers to travel between the occupied lands, and between it and Israel, to preserve the fabric of internal life, and this was classified as an absolute security necessity, but don't you find it strange that the Palestinians are not allowed to use these roads!
———————————————————————
10- They passed laws to seize land for the public benefit, and who decides that is the minister of finance.
The term "public benefit" was very expanded, including sidewalks, traffic signs, and even green spaces.
Imagine taking your grandparents' house to become a green space! Only that is how you can describe it!
This was one of the most important things that were the nucleus of settlement building.
————————————————————————
11- In 2003, they established an area called the "Seam Zone" inside Palestine, and no one may stay there, and anyone inside it immediately evacuates it by force!
——————————————————
12- In 2008, they hit the Gaza Strip with phosphorus bombs, in an operation called "Cast Lead".
In this operation, 1600 people were killed, including entire families, such as the Al-Samuni family, which lost 29 of its members!
