One of the rare manifestation of Romanian graphic novels. Such a powerful story, although minimal and confusing towards the end, criptic even. This is pure art, a story of loss, stoicism and suffering.
It's rather interestimg how the author chose to share the story of a Wermacht leutainant, a character usually villified in other medias. But what we see here is just a young man, a homesick and heartbroken man who would rather prefer not to have been born than fight and endure the cold, beatings and loss for a vain cause of some political leader.
The art direction and character design are flawless, yet experimental, as to be expected from Tamba.
Se pare ca sfarsitul s-a ingropat singur in zapada . As fi vrut sa fie mai clar , totusi....
The quality and art is really top of the line. The story, however is vague and short. Not bad and I generally like vague, but it kind of leaves you with the feeling of wanting more.
A German officer finds God during captivity in a Siberian gulag. Very well written, but nothing really happens and the ambiguous ending annoyed me. Art: 5. Story: 3.
