The ultimate sacrifice by their Great King gives the Thycian people a chance to fight back against the evil darkness threatening to envelop the empire. Linked to the people forever by the blood of a king the Eternals will now defend the Thycian people for all of eternity. Their legend would grow among those who would threaten the descendants of the Thycian people and the innocents who are now a part of their lives. This is their story.
Allie is an Eternal, guardian of the Thycian people and their descendants. Destined to never grow old and blessed with the power of an ancient people, she fights for those who cannot. Now someone has killed her friend and she is determined to bring the killer to justice but it becomes obvious that the killer is much more than she bargained for. He is a Night Stalker. It turns out the Stalker is just a puppet and someone or something very powerful is pulling his strings. That someone has an agenda and Allie has to find out what it is, stop a killer before he strikes again, and deal with feelings she hasn’t had in a very long time. It isn’t long before she is in the fight of her life and it will take all of her experience and power to survive.
For me, this was a horrible book. It dealt with vampires, werewolves, orcs, and something called an Eternal. These Eternals as far as I could tell our creatures that can live forever in terms of age and health, but can be killed through physical violence. They also have a sort of magic, which comes in the form of some kind of lightning or energy.
In the beginning I was not sure where the book was going. I felt like the author did not even understand what he was writing about until almost halfway through the book. There was quite a bit about storyline which I think the author assumed the reader was already privy to, such as the state of things between the various races. The vampires seem to employ the orcs as their muscle, but the werewolves I believe were friendly to the Eternals? It is all very confusing.
In addition to a lack of direction the story itself, the author has a female main character, it does not seem to understand how females think and act. It seemed to me every time the author spoke through this character, they were trying to mold the character into us something that was the ideal action film babe. Here we are to expect that this intelligent, resourceful, including tactician in combat can spend half of a chapter deciding which dress to wear. Yes, for some reason in the middle of the book, there is one chapter in which there is a very immature but emotional internal monologue as the character gets ready for and goes on a date. This event really came out of nowhere in my opinion. This female main character continuously morphed and personality between many things: sex object, damsel in distress, one man army, stereo typical blonde...
The quantity of grammatical mistakes in this book was at a completely unacceptable level.
