I’m so glad I took a chance on this new novel as I really enjoyed it. It’s full of suspense, intrigue, paranormal, action, and romance. It’s a well-developed story that’s written well that includes an interesting array of characters. I have to say that I really loved how the people of the town really looked out and cared for each other. Those in itself made the novel stand out from so many others that take place in small towns as well. The two protagonists, Tina and Clive, are at the heart of the story. Separately they are two strong, caring, independent, and courageous individuals; but as a couple they didn’t come across as anything special. The only time you feel the sexual heat between the two is when they have their one-night stand, otherwise nothing for the duration of the novel. It’s because of their relationship, or lack thereof, that I give “Worlds Apart” 4 stars. Except for their initial meeting at the beginning of the novel, they don’t meet up again until Chapter 27; and in between that time they’re both thinking of each other quite often. Tina because she believes they had a connection and the fact that she’s pregnant; Clive because he also felt the connection between them. I was really bothered with the fact that at the start of the novel Tina is making plans to go out for in the evening for a good time and in the hopes of meeting someone for a one-night stand. You would think that as a doctor and as a female she would take precautions when it comes to safe sex; however, she doesn’t bring any condoms with her, nor does she mention to the guy to use one. Seriously, talk about being stupid and irresponsible; not to mention a complete hypocrite as a doctor. Then when they do meet up again they both realize they love each other, which of course they soon declare. Seriously? You have sex, can’t stop thinking of each other, don’t see each other for over three months, and now you’re in love? Come on ! You know what’s next people – cue several eye-rolls. In spite of all this, I still recommend the novel and stand firm on the four stars I give it.

I thank Goodreads for awarding me a copy of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the love story between Tina and Clive and the ending was just perfect.

Clive was a werewolf but to Tina, he was just a good-looking man. After their one-night stand, Tina became pregnant. When she was told about Clive being a werewolf, she didn't believe it as she had always been told there were no such things as werewolves. Alternate worlds existed where there were werewolves, elves, goblins, and the like.
When another werewolf found out about Tina, he wanted the powers that she now possessed and it was up to Clive to fight and kill the other werewolf to save Tina and their son.

Marlene, it was a great book and I look forward to reading more of your novels.
