In the second book of GBTBR, David finds his way through life after losing his sister. Meeting new people along the way and touching lives like he never imagined. Can he continue on the right path and change peoples lives forever or will the loss of his sister still haunt him? David has now moved to a new state looking for a fresh start and a new outlook on life. While working as a crisis counselor, David finds himself drawn to a man on the other end of the phone who is thinking about taking his own life. Can David save him before it's too late?
I was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to Georgia in 2004. I'm the mother of three beautiful children, Zackary 18, Blayke 13, and Ema 10. I've been married for 10 years to a wonderful man who always seems to keep me grounded. When I'm not writing novels, I enjoy reading, going to the movies with my children, walking through trails, and bowling. We have three dogs and several cats. Living my life as it is, I feel blessed, so I always remember to pay it forward to others. I've been a Partner's in Hope member of St. Jude's Hospital since 2006 and give to my local community, The Sharing and Caring Place in GA.
God Blessed the Broken Road Series book Two Castiel David, after losing Mariza, his sister in a set of circumstances which would serve to break most people, decides to carry on with his life and to use his own experience to help others. I love the start of this book, David, broken, trying to pick up the pieces, do not have all the answers! He has no clear idea of what he wants to do, or how he wants to go about it. He knows he wants to make a difference but he has no idea of how to do it. I love the fact that David is human, that no Celestial signs appears to him to guide his every step. Like the rest of us, he needs to figure out life for himself. David finds a way of helping, his self doubt in this, is even more endearing. In his new path, he finds a cause, not an easy one, but one he can identify with. Circumstances again turn and in a situation where it seems as if David could come out making a real chance it soon becomes apparent that due to this new twist, David might lose all the ground he has been fighting for. Castiel is introduced at this stage of the story. And this time I did cry. I always listen to music while I am reading and when I read this part it was Robbie Williams signing "I heard it is salvation let their wings unfold". Don’t worry, you will understand when you reach this part of the book. I recommend this book to all. As the second book in the story of God Blessed the Broken Road Series it fits in perfectly. I wish I was good with words, I wish I could tell you what this book is about, and how it will touch you. But I am not. So I am telling you this. This series is shaping up to serve to get the cars I am chasing in my head, to go back into the right lane. Maybe, with lots of work, books and authors as inspiring as this, Blessings in abundance, I will manage to fix my own broken road. I give this book a 8 * review rating!
Cattabriga does not disappoint with her second book of the God Blessed the Broken Road Series! After the first book of Mariza, we were all left wanting to know more about her brother David, and where life's journey would take him after such an unspeakable tradgedy. The main question left in my mind was "Will David ever find his way back to God?" Book Two picks back up with David a few years after his sister's death. Even though years have passed, the sting and the heartbreak is still very fresh for David and he has decided to pick up and start over else where. He wants to honor his sister's memory, and he wants to make a difference in someone else's life the way his sister had always made a difference for him. Unfortunately for David, this is easier said than done. However, through a series of events while David is trying to begin his new life and get on his feet, he is placed on a path to helping someone in a way he could have never expected. Will David be able rely on himself and his weakened faith to help this person? What will happen if he doesn't? Will his help even make a difference? and most importantly Will he be able to rely on God to help not only him, but the other person who is relying on David to get him through this trying situation? I fell in love with David's character in book one, and was very pleased to get to know him better and learn more about his life in book 2. David finally confides in a new friend Millie about the reasons why he and his sister were taking that fateful trip in the first place. We learn what started him down his dark path and why he turned from God in the first place. David's situation makes you realize just how easy it would be to lose focus and lose God in a life full of hardship. It does seem as though bad luck is following David where ever he goes. His faith is tested over and over again and it leaves you wondering if he will just eventually give up all together, or keep struggling through. Lucky for him, he has unimaginable strength, his belief in a higher power, no matter how many times it is tested and he has an angel on his side. The new characters are all very real and likable, just as they were in book one. You find yourself relating to them, or wishing that you had people like them in your own life. They each have their own character strengths and weaknesses that compliment David on some level. I especially loved Millie and how she took David under her wing and showed him love just when he needed it most. My favorite part of this story is that even though David has not yet made up his mind about where he stands in his relationship with God, he still finds himself turning back to his faith over and over in times of difficulty, and bringing others back with him. It gives hope that no matter the struggle, or the length of the journey, that anyone can indeed find the Blessed Broken Road back to God. Cattabriga has once again written an inspiring story that will leave you examining your own life and what your faith is strong enough to endure. I would suggest this series to anyone, reguardless of your genre preference or religious beliefs! I have once again been left wanting to learn more, whether the next story continues with the life of David, or continues on in the life of one of the other characters. Thank you Crystal for letting me be one of the first to read this amazing story, and I can not wait to read more of your work!
My review of Castiel (God Bless the Broken Road 2) by Crystal Cattagria
Rating 5*****STARS .....would go more if I could!!!
This book was provided free by the author in exchange for honest literary review.
David has relocated to Seattle from his native Georgia following the devastating loss of Mariza. Over the past few years, he has made several advancements personally in order to make her memory proud. He does realize that the best way to honor her memory is to pay her lessons forward to others. David has to learn not only how to have faith, but to teach others how to rely on leaps of faith when there is no logical hope available.
I really don't want to give too much plot away here, because all of us need this book. There have been several times in my life has been broken similar to David's situation. I will be honest here and say I didn't handle things as well as he did. This author writes a disturbingly poignant story. The descriptions are vivid, leaving emotions raw. The great thing is that by the end it all makes sense. It leaves you with hope and a new desire to hopefully attempt to try and make a cold world a better place. Excellent follow up novel!!!! d
I was given an e-copy of the book by the author in exchange for my honest review.
This is the second book in the God Blessed the Broken Road Series. I can't say enough good things about it. If I need a good cry, and can always count on this author to give it to me.
Davis starts to get his grip on life after the tragedy of losing himself and his sister. He decides to pack up and move, hoping that a this change will help him better cope. When he gets to his destination, he meets a nice lady that lets him stay at her bed and breakfast and helps him find a job at a crisis center, the last place he thought he could work. Not only does she help him find the path to his new life, but she also touches his heart and soul. While working at the crisis center, he answers a call that may change his life and the person on the other ends life forever. What happens , well you will just have to read and find out.
A great emotional read! It is an inspiring read that shows that no matter how small a kind gesture is, it may just make a huge difference in someone else live. You just have to have faith and believe in something.
Lisa's review of God Bless The Broken Road Book 2-Castiel By Crystal Cattabriga
I was given an ARC copy of God Bless The Broken Road Book 2-Castiel in order to provide an honest review. What can I say it was FANTASTIC. Crystal followed David from his journey in the first book to flow right into this one. Crystal had me so immersed into the story I was crying before you knew it. You must read book 1 before this so you are able to fully understand what David had gone through to get to this point in his life. Crystal puts her heart, soul, and faith into her writing and you forget that it's a book not a real life story. David was given a second chance in life and with the memory of his sister, his faith in God he is able to honor her memory by paying it forward ten-fold. The only thing I found out is I definitely want more to this story to continue the journey with David. Thank you so much Crystal for allowing me to read your wonderful story and for helping to restore my faith that God truly has a plan for each and every one of us.

while i'm not really religious, i've found i can identify alot with this authors writing. she makes you feel like your not alone in life and some times miracles can and will happen. this book had some spelling and other errors, it needs refined a bit but it is an awesome read once you over look a few typos. i would recommend this book to anyone , and especially those who think things can not get worse, or need a pick me up. great author, great book!
Fast paced, thought provoking, and heart wrenching.
Castiel, book two in the God Blessed the Broken Road series, was the perfect follow-up to book one.
Trying his best to move on after the loss of his sister, David, with a little help from an unlikely source, has now become the light in the lives of others. While helping a family travelling down their own "Broken Road," David's able to find a sense of peace of his own. Never did he think that by helping others...he'd be helping himself.
David is now working at Hope crisis centre as a crisis councillor. where he has a phone call for some one called Jenson,David meets up with him the next day,
But you find out before there meet how David got the job and you meet Millie and a few other people along the way,
David with his own grief of still losing his sister carries on helping other people and you will have a few tears
David does his best to help Jenson and his family, and get Jenson to stop drinking,
This book had me in tears at so many different moments... David had gone through so much with the loss of Mariza from book one and now into this book, it seems like the pain is never ending for him... No matter how much he goes through though he always keeps his faith which I love about him... God Bless The Broken Road is a series I highly recommend to read...
