Damian's perfect life begins to crumble when one of his victims survives his brutal attack. Fortunately, she's suffering from amnesia and can't recall the events leading up to her attack or the attacker, giving Damian time to finish the job. The mounting stress begins to chip away at Damian's good-natured facade and doesn't go unnoticed by Grace. To make matters worse, his spiteful mother-in-law has become a thorn in his side, and an overzealous detective re-opened Minister Mathis's disappearance case and is hellbent on seeing Damian behind bars by any means necessary.
Damian's biggest fear is losing his family and the life he built for himself. Will Damian be able to keep his sinister life a secret from Grace? Will Damian be able to charm and manipulate his way to freedom, or will his recklessness land him on Death Row?
The Witness II is appropriate for mature audiences over the age of 18.
A. N. Boyden began her writing journey in 2018 as an escape from the pressures and demands of a high-stress social services job. She never expected her nearly illegible scratching to turn into not only a passion but a career three years later. A. N. Boyden's humble beginnings began on Wattpad, where "Spouse Swap" was born. She gained thousands of adoring and supportive followers who gave her the confidence and boost she needed to finally self-publish.
A. N. Boyden's niche is interracial romances and thrillers that feature an abundance of steamy scenes, drama, and countless laughs. The majority of A. N. Boyden's female characters are strong Black women who reside in the great state of Texas, just like her. She sometimes refers to herself as a "one-woman" show, but frequently finds herself pitching her storylines to her husband, who is her number one fan.
Wild stuff. This book had me so anxious about whether will Grace find out about Damien, will Damien keep his secret of being a serial killer, whether Christine will get her memory back, the crooked cop, and Lady Ennis's insistence. This short book truly packed a punch! I honestly thought I had the ending pegged but I was thrown for a loop because the climactic ending was insane. I would LOVE for The Witness 3 to be a thing 🙏🏾
if you enjoyed the first book you will absolutely enjoy the way the story progresses in the second book. And if you are Damien lover like I am you will also love seeing him being an amazing husband and a pretty smart serial killer.
*Spoiler ⚠️ WARNING***
I'M REALLY HAPPY THAT THE ENDING, was somewhat what I wanted to see. The only thing that I get 100% wish that I had seen was a more evolved grace.
definitely wanted to see a serial killer couple but I will live with just a family.
I can't wait to see if we get to learn a little bit more about DJ story and what he becomes and his relationship with his dad.
overall great buy. Love the author. can't wait for the next series they come up with.
4.1✨’s 🫣…tbh I’m not sure if I would’ve taken a chance on this book had it not been for my sudden insomnia last night. 😂
Damian was looking for victim #17 but instead stumbled across his everything. 🖤
(Below review for both books fyi)
Woah, this story was something… I just had to hang on to my pearls and enjoy (or try to) the ride. I’d also like to say, I have nothing against ride-or-diers because I’m personally ride or dying for my hubby BUT DANG BABE can you un@live bad people?!?! Must we slay vulnerable, unsuspecting, didn’t do a thing to you - women?! Then on top of that, you pretend to practice a religion to get said victims to let their guard down & quoting scripture better than the Saints?! C’mon now, at some point we’re doing too much, and it’s a little too evil. (I’m a little wuss so I pretended he had Dexters moral code when it came to his little side hobby. Also, I stopped watching Dexter after season 2 or 3 so don’t come for me if that comparison doesn’t hold up in court.) All that being said — I loved the romance and the banter between the MC’s and my mouth real life popped open at the cliffy in Book 1. Honestly, my heart actually dropped when I found out he went back to his extracurriculars in the first place.
This book would’ve been 5 stars if: •H un@lived w/ some kind of moral compass •H’s childhood was expounded upon, esp showcasing how he was raised to be… himself •no time jumps of their relationship, I wanted to experience them: getting pregnant + married •some more smut, there was only one scene (but dare I say - I was so wrapped up in this story for ONCE the spice took a backseat for me.) •we knew WHY the OM was in H’s house and if he found anything incriminating •book was dual POV 1st person •no plot holes, and climax and ending of book 2 was buttoned up a little better w/ more info. Clearly H planned that, or did he? See, idk and that’s the problem.
🖤’d: •H immediately having h’s back against her mom •H arguing w/ little Tiara over those cookies🤣 •h was the first human H ever loved •”you have 10 seconds to come up with a safe word” wait a minuteeee 😩 (fyi, she was so taken aback she wasn’t able to think of one in time😏) •H takes h on picnics & reads spicy books to her •H left h when the ducks invaded 🤣 (he rescues her later)
⚠️ + Info: — Instalust for both, but love came quickly. — Serial un@living bc he had mommy issues and was raised by a woman hater. — No virgins, both experienced but we know for certain h has been celibate for many years. — Low spice: 1 explicit scene per book if I remember correctly. — No: OWD (we are never told H is intimate with his victims), sharing, cheating, push/pull, separation or 3rd act break up — OMD: h is continually pursued by OM, and H takes care of him (book 1) — Gaslighting — Miscarriage (book 2) — Police brutality (book 2) — Death of loved one (mentioned in book 1 and on page in 2) — HFN + HEA: Ends on a cliffy, but the couple is married w/a son. (Book 1) Married, and no more children except junior. (Book 2)

Well where do I start ,Damian what a man seductive, charming ,treacherous, considerate, confident, witting and a true Bonafide genius willing to do anything to keep and protect his family.Grace save, sanctified, glory be tho name and a dash of snark loving her Man despite some doubt but her love weighs it in his Favor.Supporting characters First Devil Lady😂Loretta with her hateful unchristian like self she was pure shenanigans and she was on point with Damian she underestimated his Love for her daughter.Pastor Daddy Ennis totally in his own world and his church to peep the shenanigans going on around him but maybe was purposely ignoring it🤷🏽♀️Emilio the so call Cop who was as dirty as Dame’s dad I just gave him a nickname I’m so invested to see how this story ends out. A loyal Cliff to the rescue if not for him working with Damian,no happy ending, but is it to continue and last point WHAT IS GOING ON WITH DJ?!?!?!?! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Fantastic storyline non stop drama and real life situations GREAT JOB AND BOOK MS A.N. BOYDEN
Wow!!! What a unique cleverly written short story that packs a major punch. It brilliantly showcases on a small scale the depravity of human nature when subjected to ongoing mental abuse. A.N. Boyden gives us much food for thought regarding our perceptions of love and deep seated hatred in this captivating twisted tale of romance, relationships, family structure, long held believes and bonds. Well done.
Everything about this was unexpected. Damien's confession, the mother's crazy, the last victim, DJ & his helper. Grace got on my nerves a couple of times with her whiny attitude but Damien's comebacks were always on point. I hollered during the altercations with the detective & do not feel bad for his conclusion. Overall this book was by far my favorite read this year and very much worth the wait.
Is it weird that I actually enjoyed reading the story? I mean the plot the characters what’s not to love about this book. The ending was very surprising could not have seen that come in or predicted any of it. But I guess this is what makes Boyden such a great writer. I’ve read a couple of her books before so it’s no surprise that I like this one even if it is a strange story.
Like a lifetime movie, The WitnessII has a killer, the wife and son he wants to keep and will kill to do so. This one had conflict. The male lead is a Dexter type but he loves his wife and son.
I was so happy when the sequel of this booked arrived! I wanted to see how the author would deal with the lone survivor and she did it brilliantly. This story was 10 stars plus and left me thinking is a person born evil or becomes one by association!
The Witness 📕2 is a mind bending, suspenseful, thrilling conclusion to the ❤️saga of Damien & Grace ; with more jaw dropping twists & turns than a roller coaster🥹! And if that wasn’t enough you will get chills down your spine with the 2nd epilogue 🫖☕️😳
The first and now the second book to the witness is sooooo good! Really wished she kept it going with Damian and grace instead of aging them suddenly.. love love love these two books
This family of Grace, Damien and their son ( the grownup version), DJ were something else. Love and death conquers all. I guess the family that kills together stays together. Didn’t expect the ending!
A.N. Boyden gets it everything. The blend of humor and darkness in this book was everything… I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series. I definitely recommend it
