The Gospel of Yes: We Have Missed the Most Important Thing About God. Finding It Changes Everything

Rate this book
God would like a word with you

What you believe about God affects the way you approach life—often in ways you don’t realize. Are you convinced that God limits you, or liberates you? Is he more interested in correcting you or connecting with you? And when you hit a rough spot and start looking for help, do you believe God is against you or on your side?

In The Gospel of Yes , Mike Glenn reveals God’s most powerful word, which opens our eyes to everything he does. That word is YES. God said “yes” to creating a world for us to live in and “yes” to inviting us into a relationship with him. No matter what we face in life, the best way to live is captured in one yes.

When you live in God’s “yes” you find your identity, your true value, and your unique purpose on earth. You can stop trying to be someone else and enjoy being yourself as you join with God in doing the work of his kingdom. When God looks at you he always says “yes.” It’s time to live like you know it.

Recommend for: Every Christian!

Wow! This book left me saying, "Wow!" Go pre-order it! I think that this will end up being #1 on my 2012 book list; it was that good.

Have you ever felt like you weren’t measuring up to God’s expectations? Have you felt that no matter how hard you worked, you just weren’t good enough? This book is for you. It is a powerful reminder of God’s grace, love and purpose for our life. It is like a breath of fresh air to anyone who has felt like they are drowning in a sea of expectations.

About three years ago, God used another book to make me realize how many false conceptions I had about him. Not since that book have I been so blessed or so moved by a book. This book made me not only feel closer to God, it made me want to share my faith more with the people around me. Any book that does that is wonderful.

What I liked about it:
Mike Glenn wrote this book in the context of what had personally happened to him. So many books, even good books, are written because the author wants to share some facts. This felt more like it had sprouted out of an overwhelming desire to share what God had done in his life.

Mike Glenn seemed to know exactly how much scripture to use. There is quite a bit, so you see him backing up what he says with scripture, but not so much that you start skimming through the book. This balance is hard to achieve, but he did it.

The message of the book is something that so many people need to hear. I have read a few books with the same message, but none of them were written in a way that I felt most people would pick them up. The message is definitely one that I needed to hear, and I am sure will be a blessing to many others.

What I didn’t like about it:
The script seemed a bit small to me. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with it.

I encourage everyone to get a copy of The Gospel of Yes by Mike Glenn as soon as you can. It is a must read for every Christian.

I received this book from WaterBrook Press (through Blogging for Books) in exchange for my honest review. I was under no obligation to write a positive review. The opinions in this review are entirely my own.

Based on the title I thought this might be a new twist on (and from) the Positive Thinking movement - and I would have had no problem with the book had it been so.

But Mike Glenn goes much deeper and roots the message of the book on making sure we have a proper understanding of the true nature of God as revealed in the Creation, the Resurrection, and throughout biblical history. Glenn points out that it is human nature to emphasize the negative over the positive - even in areas like theology and everyday Christianity. He does stop to point out that God says "no" on 10 things - but most often God says "yes" - and when we embrace that divine mindset, it spills over into our lives and we are able to discover who we are and what unique contributions we bring to our world.

The book doesn't ignore judgment and real guilt, but it does point us toward God's "yes" of forgiveness and moving forward in life with purpose, power, and passion.

I think this book is very important for the person who feels diminished and discouraged due to negative experiences in church and how that might have affected their understanding of God. But i think it's a book for everyone that wants a renewed sense of how God looks at the world - and some incredible things He has in mind for them to accomplish.

At first I was excited to start reading this book. I found out right after I started reading it that the author was a pastor from a nearby local church. I know several people who attend this church and have even attended one of their marriage classes.

My excitement ended pretty quickly though. I was interested in the basic topic—which to some degree is about finding your identity, purpose and value. O.K. so far.

Even when he explained what the “yes” was, made sense. It is your purpose and who God created you to be. I had to keep looking the meaning back up though, as most of the time when he kept talking about your “yes” it was way overstretched to fit the original meaning that he said it meant. It seemed to me like he was just trying to find a snazzy catchy title or phrase to fit everything into—and it didn’t all fit. That part was annoying to me.

I enjoyed reading the personal stories included in every chapter. And, yes, they did fit in with the chapter topics at hand. I also enjoyed getting to know the author ever so slightly through his writings.

This book was not great. This book was definitely not bad either. I found it to be good, just good. It was boring at times and sometimes annoying but there were some tidbits of useful information here and there. Other people may love this book and it may be perfectly what they need right now—that was just not me. If you are looking for a book to help you live an authentic life, check it out as you may be one of the ones this book was meant for.

I got this book free from Water Brook because I signed up for their Blogging for Books deal.

I didn't expect anything profound, to be honest. I've read so many books on faith, both independently and when I was in a Christian high school and a Bible college, and I've been exposed to some incredibly life-changing theology. I had never heard of this book or author, so I didn't exactly know what I was in for.

So I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! I saw so much of my own journey woven throughout the pages, and truths written in ways I had never formed into words, but were written so beautifully. I think this would be a good read for a new believer, or a newly graduated "church kid," or anyone who wants to understand more about the God of the Bible. And it would certainly make a good study for any combination of the aforementioned individual types.

I found this on my bookshelf with a bunch of books I had gotten in a moving sale of sorts. The cover is not particularly enticing. It has a generic sailboat picture and the title made me think this was going to be some cheesy Sunday School book, but I was pleasantly surprised. None of the concepts discussed in this book were overwhelmingly earth-shattering, but it had me thinking more deeply about some ideas I hadn’t given much thought to, like the idea that being for something is more powerful than being against something. I also liked that each chapter had smaller sections with subheadings, which made it easy to read a little at a time to go along with my morning devotional. Overall, it was encouraging and uplifting and I enjoyed it.

I read the Gospel of Yes, in exchange for review from Blogging for Books. The book was written by Mike Glenn. The book was published by WaterBrook Press. The book discussed saying Yes to God's plans for your life, no matter what they may be. We have to live according to God's will, instead of our will. It is not an easy task, but it builds up our heavenly rewards, and not just our earthly rewards.

The first part of the book discusses how Mike had to deal with infidelity in the church. A church minister had an affair, which devastated the whole church. Mike had to rebuild the church, but was not sure how the church will recover. He blamed God, but God gave him an answer: be yourself and let the church be itself. He learned that while he was helping others fulfill their godly purpose, he never thought about figuring out who he was. What was his godly purpose for his life?
I struggle with that question as well: What is God's purpose for my life? What is my ministry in the church. I have been going to my church for almost a year and still do not have a ministry. I love administration. I love helping folks. I already volunteered for vacation bible school, the carnival, and the halloween fest. I helped register people and provided directions. I think I ran a station at the carnival but that job was not for me. Got bored easily and it was either a two or four hour job. I don't think I am fit for an usher, greeter, or children's ministry.

Glenn also discussed how some people equate being miserable to Christianity. They can not accept happiness when things are going too good. They live for the bad times because it tests their faith in God more. God is there for the good and the bad. People need to enjoy their lives now. Live their purpose now. You can't live for God, if you are dead (Pastor Mike discussed this in the vision for the church today. Love my pastor).

God wants to provide guidance and direction for your life. God wants us to use our Godly Gifts. We all have special gifts. No one has every gift, which allows us to work together for the Kingdom, versus trying to do things alone. He wants us to enjoy living for him and fulfilling our purpose. Glenn discusses how living the gospel of yes does not limit us, but frees us to become who God wants us to be. It is ok to say no and let someone, who is better skilled, handle the job.

Another part of the book, Iiked was Mike discussing how the churches, he grew up in, told him what not to do. No cussing, drinking, and smoking for example. He said we can't define our lives by what we oppose--it causes frustration and bitterness (and a lot of stress. i been there and still going through it). We can't attack the opposition always, but we can move towards the cross and live for God. Move towards life and away from death. Glenn discusses how we need to win people for Christ, instead of forcing them into Christianity.

Other highlights from the book:
Live life with integrity. Yes means yes and no means no. If you cant do something, don't agree to do it.
Saying yes to God gives your life meaning and order.
Paul discussed how Living for Christ is a yes. Everything else is disposable and a no
Fear and anger temporarily motivate people. Yet God's kingdom is eternal.

Great quote: "What makes life increasingly difficult is to know what your are against, without knowing what you are for" Being against something does not mean you are moving towards something positive. The book gave an example of being against divorce, yet you are not for marriage. Being against poverty does not mean you are helping the poor--another great example. I guess Mike is saying how we need to put action into our beliefs. We have to live for something--and that something needs to be God. It's like in a Sponge Bob episode I saw--where the sponge and the star wanted to Live like Larry. They wanted to emulate Larry the Lobster's life. Do what he did. Live in the moment, no matter the cost. We need to do the same for God. We need to live like God. Be like Christ. Live in the moment, fulfilling our purpose, no matter the cost. We need to say YES to God (and then do it. Put action to the words. Be committed, energized, happy, living for God).

The Gospel of YES
By Mike Glenn

God wants us to experience joy in our life, but many Christians feel that to be in God's will we must be miserable. But God wants us to use the gifts He has given us and to enjoy them in the work He has given us to do. When we try to be want we were not created to be we not only make ourselves miserable we make those around us miserable as well.

Serving God and others in the way we were created brings natural joy to both our outer demeanor and to our soul. Following God is not following a list of do not do's, this limits us so that we become angry and bitter. Rather we are to follow the path Jesus first walked, we are not to pound people into submission but rather win people over with good. We must immerse ourselves in the Word and experience the depth of Jesus' teachings.

When we truly know know Christ we will have integrity of character; our yes will always be yes and our no will always be no. No matter how circumstances change we will live in the same manner because we are grounded in Christ.

Today far too many Christians cannot say what they are for but they can list in detail what they oppose. But when we look at Paul he did not do this. He brought a message of hope, he did not stand on a corner waging war against the world of his day. Knowing Christ was all that mattered everything else was disposable, we should share the Good News in a like manner.

When we focus our vision on Christ our life is grounded and He is a positive driving force in our life. When Christ is the yes of our life we will not get trapped by the options life throws in our path. We must know what we are for. We must make a commitment, we can't chose the middle ground in case something better may come along.

We must live our day-to-day moments as a an act of worship before God. Through our relationship with God, we reclaim a portion of the universe that has been lost to sin. Everything we do should be as if we were doing it unto Jesus.

When God created the world He gave one no to His creation. But when limits are placed on us we assume that God is trying to keep us from having fun. But the rules (or Commandments) that God gave us are gifts of grace and mercy. Jesus gave us two rules for living to love God and to love our neighbor, if we keep these two rules we can easily keep every other rule given to us by God. By focusing on these two positives we do not focus on the negatives – the I can't do this of sin. If we focus on what we cannot do we will fail and we will sin.

But we must remember Jesus came in love to this sinful world. He came not to condemn but to save because He loved us. Creation is the outpouring of God's love and joy and He wants us to experience this same love and joy. The Bible is the story of God's yes, His love and His joy. By saying yes to the pain and suffering of the cross Jesus gave us the opportunity to save yes to His salvation, to accept His gift of redemption.

We need to realize that no one can meet our needs, only Christ can do this. We just have to say yes to His yes. God's final yes will be when He remakes and restores His creation.

Will you say Yes today? God is waiting for your answer.

Book Review: The Gospel of Yes by Mike Glenn, Waterbrook Press, 2012

In The Gospel of Yes, pastor and author Mike Glenn states that while many believe that God limits His followers, “yes” is actually God’s most powerful word. Glenn explores a variety of Scripture references including 2 Corinthians 1:20 and Matthew 5:37, leading readers to find their “yes” in Christ.

While many see faith in God as limiting–limiting them from fun or from things they want to do–Glenn says that our “yes” in Christ actually opens up possibilities instead.

According to Glenn, many Christians have boiled their faith down to “sin management,” always thinking about what to avoid, rather than filling their minds with Christ and letting go of the rest.

Glenn says, “If we understand who we are created to be in Christ, we realize we have an all-consuming calling. Our calling–our ‘yes’ in Christ–is what focuses our lives and determines how we invest our lives” (p. 24).

He encourages readers to look at things from God’s viewpoint. “God said ‘no’ to sin because it violates His holiness, but wanting us to not break His laws is not His number-one reason for opposing sin. He hates sin because it destroys the people He loves” (p. 70).

Throughout The Gospel of Yes Glenn takes issues like creation, the ten commandments, the great commandments, the cross, the resurrection, forgiveness, authenticity and simplicity and shows how God says “yes” through them. He helps readers think differently about age-old struggles and issues.

Personally, I appreciated Glenn’s comparison of forgiveness to a spiral staircase. “You forgive as much as you can in the moment,” he says, “and then you come back to to the issue at a different level. . . Now you deal with the issue at a more significant level and move on again. Like a spiral staircase, you are making progress. It just feels as though you are walking around in circles” (p. 108).

My favorite chapter was chapter 10, “The Yes of You,” where Glenn dealt at length with identity, addressing issues like self-worth, value, and being made in the image of God. For me, these issues are relevant for new and long-time believers alike.

While I think Glenn doesn’t necessarily cover any new ground in his book, it may help readers look at things in different light. Two particular groups will benefit from The Gospel of Yes:
people who haven’t been brought up in church but whose exposure to the church and “church people” have yielded negative, “no” impressions; and
people who have been brought up in a church culture that has, whether on purpose or not, taught sin management rather than filling the mind with Christ.
Both of these groups will find a refreshing new look at God as He really is and that He isn’t just about the “no’s.”

The discussion questions in the appendix help readers make the most of the book. Small groups will find this helpful as well as a free teaching outline available through publisher here.

Mike Glenn is the pastor of Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN, a church that has grown from 900 in 1991 to more than 8,500. He’s a graduate of Samford University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

I received The Gospel of Yes by Mike Glenn for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

The Gospel of Yes by Mike Glenn seeks to be a book that encourages people that "when you live in God's 'yes' you find your identity, your true value, and your unique purpose on earth. You can stop trying to be someone else and enjoy being yourself as you join with God in doing the work of his kingdom. When God leads you, he always says yes. It's time to live like you know it." (from the back cover).

I am always interested in reading books about calling/vocation too see what people have to say about the topic, and in this book Glenn gives some valuable advice and has some good insight, such as when he offers the idea that God sending Adam & Eve out of the garden was done in sadness and tears and not anger (p. 52), or when he suggests that perhaps we need to emphasize the word "child" instead of the phrase "on the way the child should go" in the well-known Proverbs verse "start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it" in order to to see the child as a unique individual with a calling from God (p. 189).

I also especially enjoyed his chapter on destiny, and his statement that "Destiny is not a fixed outcome for your life. There is no act of fate at work. Instead, I use the term to describe the invitation you and I have as believers to be involved in the redemptive work of Christ in his world. We have been asked to join God's work of reconciling the world" (page 143).

While there were a couple of times I thought Glenn contradicted himself or wasn't clear, and there were a few things I'd probably quibble with theologically, overall I thought it was a decent book, targeted towards people who are just starting to wonder what it is that God may be calling them to do. It does have the feel of a series of sermons, which is not surprising, given that Glenn is the senior pastor of a church. I can see myself using quotations in this book in future blog posts of my own as a starting point or as backup to something I'd like to say. In other words, it isn't a book that will just sit on my shelf now that I am done reading it.

‘THE GOSPEL OF YES’ BY MIKE GLENN BOOK REVIEW

The answer is Christ & the answer is ‘yes’. Christ is the ‘yes’ to all of God’s promises.
Transparent life stories are shared from Mike Glenn’s pastoral career. Honesty in writing is always appreciated & always helps connect an author with his/her readers. Knowing that Pastors aren’t immune to a crisis can make a stronger body of Christ. Thankfully, Mike Glenn has chosen to include delicate, real life examples to stress the importance of living a ‘yes’ life.
Revelations that Mike Glenn received from God during his personal crises are priceless. Having them passed onto us as readers makes them even more so. It isn’t often that we as parishioners or even as fellow Christians are able to have a glimpse into someone’s prayer life let alone receive wisdom from it.
Living a ‘yes’ mentality means to be who Our Creator has made us to be in our earthly lives. Those suffering from self-esteem issues will find respite in being reminded that we all have a Godly purpose. Knowing God has created us exactly as He saw fit, flaws & all, is one of these priceless revelations.
How awesome to know that God wants us to be happy! If you’ve been taught otherwise, allow Mr. Glenn to retrain your brain. Many Christians have fallen into the trap of believing that they must be miserable to be used of God. Eye-opening to say the least, he moves through points in Jesus’ earthly ministry, Paul’s writings, The Garden & much more. Each reference used points us further to a ‘yes’ lifestyle.
Pastor Glenn has a wonderfully, charismatic writing style. Perfect for both seasoned & newer Christians alike, it’ll make a great pastoral resource. Assuredly, it wasn’t an easy topic choice. Swimming against the current rarely is; however, I for one am grateful that it was written.
Excellent wording, relevant advice, & Godly wisdom combine for a 5 star book. More info can be found via the publisher at www.waterbrookmultnomah.com & it can be purchased via your favorite retailer. I received 1 eBook copy to write my review without further compensation. All opinions are my own.

Do you believe that God limits you to a life of rules with the word don’t in them? Or, on the other hand, do you believe God liberates you into a life of being the person He created you to be? In “The Gospel of Yes”, Mike Glenn introduces us to the power of God’s yes and how, once you hear it, your life will be transformed.

If all Christians lived in God’s yes, the world would be full of energetic, enthusiastic and exciting people who were living in the fulfillment of God’s unique purpose for their lives. I can only imagine what the world could become if we stopped limited God to no and opening our eyes to all of His yeses.

Glenn’s book is filled with quotable quotes—those you want to share with others because they are thought-provoking or inspiring. One of my favorites is “The biblical directive for all Christians is to follow Christ, not just to oppose the world. You can’t live a life of substance by living against.” This quote is so indicting of our Christian society today. We are speaking out against lots of things, but are offering people the love Christ so often spoke of in the gospels? If we continue to pronounce what we are against, people may not hear God’s most powerful word and miss out on an opportunity to live in relationship with God.

A great book for a book club or small group, “The Gospel of Yes” includes a discussion guide to help you go into a deeper study. Click here for a sample chapter. Visit the website for more information about Mike Glenn and his ministry.

In "The Gospel of Yes" Mike Glenn offers a clear presentation of the Gospel. As the text develops, Glenn offers something that feels much like one of Paul's letters such as Ephesians. Glenn declares that we need to say yes to the grace offered us by God through Jesus Christ and that we need to say yes to the truth of the resurrection so that we can recieve the amazing gifts that God has in store for us. After attempting to convince the reader of the truth of the Gospel and how saying yes to God's means of grace through Jesus Christ actually frees us rather than limits, Glenn leads readers to discover the richness of what it means to follow after Christ. Much like how Paul offers instruction in Ephesians regarding how we should live as the church who has said yes to following Christ, Glenn offers guidance on how we should live today as Christ's followers. He offers us insight into what it means to love within families, how we should make decisions about abortion and offer life to those struggling with an unwanted pregnancy, how we should approach our culture's obsession with consumption and stuff, and how we should treat our neighbors. In the midst of the discussion, Glenn offers great insight into the seemingly negative aspects of The Ten Commandments. He challenges all followers of Christ, all those who have said yes to the Gospel, to view the commandments as God's great yes so that we can live the life that God created us to live, in proper relationship with Him. Overall, Glenn offers a succinct and positive look at the Gospel. The prose in which he presents his arguement is slightly basic and did not draw me in immediately. Nonetheless, his presentation provides the soon to be disciple or the recently converted an introduction into the Christian life and inpiration for saying yes to the great gift of God's grace.

Weaving the stories of how his life took a dramatic turn after learning this concept and how others live it out, author Mike Glenn walks us through the idea that God is a God of yes. What exactly does this mean? It's an entire paradigm shift away from the belief that the Christian life is a miserable one, and that God is a tyrant who oppresses us to keep us in line.

Instead, the author outlines ways that God uses our natural gifts, talents, and personality types--which, consequently, He planned and designed--to lead us into an abundant life. As we live this out, we are functioning in the kingdom as we were meant to, not only benefitting God's work on earth, but fulfilling us as individuals.

Although the book is broken into chapters, each chapter has bite-sized chunks that could easily serve as a daily devotion, and since it's an audiobook, it makes for great listening as you commute. The author, who read the book, has an engaging, pleasant, Southern voice, minus that fake accent that drives us real Southerners crazy.

If you were raised in church as I was, it may take you a while to digest this whole book. Each chapter has concepts that challenged me to think about what I'd been taught, in light of what the Bible says about God and what I've found to be true about Him. I found things I didn't agree with, things I wasn't sure about, and things that caused a light to click on. I'm not sure I'd recommend this book to a new Christian, but ones who've been in this thing for a while will certainly find some food for thought.

A Reasonable "Yes"

In 209 pages Mike Glenn repeats the word "Yes" many times, but it doesn't get old. In fifteen chapters of around fifteen pages each you might think the repetition of a three letter word would wear out. It doesn't.

I truly appreciated the way Mike keeps things fresh by utilizing a mixture of good story telling and allowing the reader to examine "Yes" from a variety of angles. He incorporates the skeptic's eye to "No" in chapters 2, 7 and 14 and clearly delivers a message of hope, joy and love that refreshes.

As with all good stories Mike takes you on a journey. First past the problem of living with "No" (I have a two year old, so I know he is right on this). Then from creation to resurrection, Biblically showing us God's "Yes" throughout scripture. The following chapters get more personal, going from our past to the living out of "Yes" in our own lives and relationships. Finally we are dropped off at home learning an important lesson. If God is with us who can be against us?

My Dad, a factory worker, gave his life to Christ, became a Sunday school teacher and went into pastoral ministry before going home in 2010. After giving his life to Jesus he didn't set out to be a pastor, he simply desired to have his identity in Christ. When Mike makes the statement "Your destiny flows out of your identity" (151), he describes my Dad perfectly.

Who are we going to be in Christ? If you aren't sure of your destiny, I'd encourage you to pick up a copy of this book and see if it doesn't help you find your "Yes".

I received a copy of this book at no cost from its publisher in exchange for this review

The "Gospel of Yes" by Mike Glenn. I find it difficult to find the words to describe this book. Each chapter led me to a greater awareness, a deeper need to really look at my own relationship with God and others.

Don't get me wrong, this is book is not a deep or difficult read. Rather, it is profound because it is simple! Glen reminds us that not only do we want "Yes" from God, but God wants our "yes."

Saying "yes" to God means we will live as God wants us to live. Throughout the book, Glenn shows us how this is how we become fully who we are meant to be.
"Most people assume that choosing 'yes' will limit your life. It's just the opposite. Choosing 'yes' opens your life to all kinds of possibilities, including unexpected breakthroughs and adventures."
Glenn discusses why saying "yes" is important and the consequences of saying "no." He helps the reader understand how to say yes by examining what the obstacles are and how to overcome them. Starting with God, Glenn covers the significance of God's "yes" of Creation, the Cross, and the Resurrection. Glenn then moves on to our "yes" to overcoming the past (who we used to be doesn't determine who we can become), forgiveness, our true identity, destiny, authentic relationships, simplicity and finally, when saying yes may not be right for you!

I highly recommend this book to anyone, if you are struggling with your relationship with God, with others, or with life in general. AND I recommend this book even if you're Not struggling!

Sometimes God puts people or books in our lives when we need the most. "The Gospel of Yes," was one of those books!

I had never read anything by the author before so was not sure what to expect and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with it.

The Gospel of Yes By Mike Glenn is a really through study book that will open your eyes to the wonder that is the Gospel. With a fresh look and a different approach Mike Glenn takes us step by step into God Yes for our lived and how we can look to that yes in all our troubles and even in our daily lives.

I was reading it through my morning devotionals/study time and really love Mikes writing style its a study book and will help you learn a ton but at the say time in never dry. This is a very exciting work and I think its going to really bless everyone who reads it.

I would recommend this book to any bible study group and it comes complete with a study guide so you can have a question and answer period after each chapter.

The Gospel of Yes By Mike Glenn will help you so much in learning how to be yourself as you join with God doing the work of his kingdom. You will find out just how simple it is be be able to seek the Lord with all your heart and know that it is he who provides you with what you need to do the work he will bless you with. I feel so Blessed to have this book on my shelves where it well be re-read again and again. Thanks for reading my review

In The Gospel of Yes, Mike Glenn reveals God’s most powerful word, which opens our eyes to everything he does. That word is YES. God said “yes” to creating a world for us to live in and “yes” to inviting us into a relationship with him. No matter what we face in life, the best way to live is captured in one word: yes.

When you live in God’s “yes” you find your identity, your true value, and your unique purpose on earth. You can stop trying to be someone else and enjoy being yourself as you join with God in doing the work of his kingdom. When God looks at you he always says “yes.” It’s time to live like you know it.

This book was suprisingly very good, as i am not the biggest fan of non-fiction i normal am not a fan!But this one is really good! I would recommend this book to Christiand on the journey to be more mature in their faith.
I was not made to write a good review, only to voice my opinion on the title.

I only really liked this towards the end of the audio as it wasn't what I thought it would be. I thought I would be listening to a book about grace rather than a trip through the bible. The author Mike Glenn does a fine job of narrating this audio and does very well explaining the gospel but personally I found it made my mind wander as I heard all the usual bible stories being told to me again. I enjoyed the last few chapters as it became more practical. I did enjoy hearing the stories he recounted of others faith journeys as these were very encouraging. I also enjoyed one of the last chapters about simplicity which I think is probably the most practical.
I think it would be good for young Christians who have got stuck in their new faith journey and for those who feel the need to get out of religious obligations, as I'm sure it would be a breath of fresh air to them. Thanks to christianaudio.com Reviewer's Program for this copy.

I really enjoyed this book. I appreciated the honesty the author, who is also a pastor, shares. Too many times they say, "do what I say but not what I do". This book is a must read for any one looking to grow in their walk with the Lord.

Here is a brief excerpt from the chapter, "A Marriage of Two Healthy People". "Can you imagine what a marriage would look like if it was based on the kind of generous love that expects nothing in return?

Those are the types of thought provoking questions he asks and then shares the scripture so you can understand what we need to do to have a healthy marriage.

I highly recommend this book. I give it 5*****.

The Gospel of Yes is an inspirational book that discusses how God always says yes to us. I cannot image anyone reading this book and not wanting to surrender all to the purpose God has given him or her. I enjoyed reading this book.

This was a very encouraging and uplifting book dealing with all the "yesses" we have in Christ and minimizing the "nos". Glenn doesn't mean cheap grace and emphasizes that forgiven sin also has to be repentant. This would be an excellent book for a new believer who needs to understand all that he can be in Christ. Very well written.

The Gospel of Yes was one of the best books that I have read in a long time. It was very informative and helpful to me. It gave me some new insight into my own "Yes". It also gave me a new perspective on my "No". I will now be more ready to walk out my Divine "Yes" in my own life.

So many times we think God gives us a book of thou shalt not's, when in reality he wants us to have the best. We may not see it, or we may ignore his direction but God always has our best interest at heart. We need to look for His yes and do that.

Interesting perspective on the Christian life. Made me think. We tend to think the gospel is more about NO vs. all the YES'S that it provides.
