Freddy: A Love Story

Rate this book
"How does a person born with mental and physical challenges become the most popular person in his community ? Why did the town throw a 50th birthday party for him and name a street in his honor ? Why do valedictorians mention him in their commencement addresses ? Why does a person who can't use a computer get 500 Facebook friends the first week he is on it ?

Freddy : A Love Story attempts to answer those questions. It is an often humorous, sometimes poignant look at the town of Clinton, Tennessee and the man who captured the town's heart."

This amazing compendium of true stories from the life of Freddy Fagan is an ode to how the citizens of Clinton, TN have loved him. In the chapter on Random Observations, author Ray Oliver asks "How does a person capture the essence of Freddy Fagan?" Oliver did a pretty good job of it in this book. "He unifies. He inspires. How? By being himself. By being uninhibited. By singing even when he doesn't know the words." The story of this mentally challenged man/child will make you laugh and cry. Will make you see why Freddy says, "Me God pals."
