Nice easy read, different concept of the guy doing the chasing because the woman he has fallen in love with doesn't want to be in a relationship with a man in the military, well worth a read lovely sweet epilogue.

Recipe for an “Accidental” Relationship - Mix an Independent Baker with a Sexy Marine

The rules were simple. Nina Warren and Bobby Dellucci met for sweaty, hot, fun between the sheets, with no commitments, whenever he was in town. The arrangement worked well for several years, but Bobby had a different plan this time. He wanted to explore whether they had deeper feelings for each other, or not. Nina, a Navy brat, refused to be in a relationship with a military man. She already knew, first hand, the sacrifices military spouses/families made. But, Bobby was up for a challenge. Let the games begin!

Nina, and her friend Ashley, owned a successful bakery in San Diego. Bobby also lived there, with his fellow Marine buddy, Mac (when they are in the States). Bobby and Nina met at a bar and their chemistry was instantaneous. They fell into each other’s arms (and bed) each time they saw each other, but their relationship did not progress past the “bed buddies” stage. The story focuses on how Nina, who is wary of her feelings for Bobby, and reluctant to “date” Bobby, comes around while still maintaining her independence.

Ms. Connor had me rooting for Bobby, as he wooed Nina. I became invested in their lives. These were complex adults who are used to being alone and relying on themselves. The secondary characters of Ashley and Mac were the supportive, but not enabling, best friends, who were not afraid to ask the difficult questions. I hope Ms. Connor is planning to write their stories.

I downloaded “Breaking All the Rules,” when it was free on Amazon and was very pleasantly surprised! This was the perfect book to read on Memorial Day, as it features a Marine and the woman who loves him. The realities of military life are an integral part of the story, as are how the characters work through their personal issues regarding long-term commitment.

I highly recommend it!

Nina has worked hard with one single focus......opening her own bake-shop. Wanting to always be self-sufficient and independent, she is determined not to be distracted by anything......or anyone.

Bobby is a career marine, and he loves it. He has never seen himself as anything else.

When Bobby meets Nina in a bar, she is there with her best friend, Ashley, celebrating the upcoming opening of Sweet Sensations, their bake shop. They have an instant attraction and hook up for the night. That is all Nina has time, or energy, for. Neither ready for any kind of relationship, they agree to get together for sex whenever Bobby is back home from deployments.

Neither Nina, nor Bobby ever seem to tire of the other, but after three years, Bobby makes a move to enter into an actual relationship. This does not sit well with Nina, she wants to keep things as they are. Growing up in a military family, she has experienced up close and personal, what it means to be the one left behind to wait. Bobby is not one to give up that easy and aims to win her over, but in doing so, discovers a few things about his own directions for the future.

I really enjoyed this book! What I thought was going to be a fun, slightly superficial romp, turned into a lot more under the surface. Kudos to Kerry Connor. Both characters seem to be on a pretty steady and focused self-directed path, but in their involvement with each other, become more insightful in themselves and deeper as characters. The entire cast of secondary characters forms a great support and touch stone for the story.
Not schmaltzy!! .......that's a good thing in my book!......but sweet at times and a very sensual read! Up there on the hot scales, starting in the prologue, so be warned!

Breaking All The Rules by Kerry Conner is a sexy, military romance that is hard to put down.

Independent and strong-willed bakery owner Nina Warren is the product of a military lifestyle. Her Dad traveled a lot which left her and her Mom alone quite a bit. They relocated every few years to wherever her Dad was stationed at the time. Nina was able to cope by engrossing herself in her studies. She decided a long time ago that she would never get emotionally involved with an active serviceman.

Hunky serviceman Bobby Dellucci loves being a Marine. The military gives him a purpose and an instant family. He was raised by a single Mom who passed away in an accident while he was deployed overseas. When he meets Nina in a bar one night, they have instant chemistry and hook-up. For three years since their initial meeting, they have hooked-up each time Bobby is home on leave. Their no strings attached relationship is no longer enough for Bobby. Although Nina has told Bobby time and time again that she does not want anything more, he is unwilling to give up having a real, emotional relationship with her. He makes it his mission to change her mind.

This book is well written and the characters are thoroughly defined. The feelings and emotions developing between the primary, as well as secondary characters are palpable and real. Tearing up was a regular occurrence throughout the story.

If you enjoy a very emotional military romance, this book is for you.

Breaking all the rules is about two people who come to a cross road in their relationship and the decisions they will have to make.
I feel that the emotions in this story is what made this book worth reading. At first, I didn't like Nina very much. I thought she was shallow, refusing any relationship with feelings. But as the story progressed, I began to realize she was afraid rather than shallow.
I am a Army brat and also a Air Force wife so I know from personal experience how difficult and emotional it can be. So I can understand the fear she was feeling but I was glad that she came to her senses in the end.
I liked the fact that both characters went through an emotional epiphany. It was this emotional journey that made the story worth reading.
Honestly, I found the sex to be pretty ho hum in this book. The first time was awesome, incredibly hot. But then the scenes became boringly and repetitive so I skipped a lot of it.
Also there is a moderate number of typos, but not enough to take away from the story.
So overall a great emotional read.
I got this free from Amazon.

Nina was brought up in the military lifestyle with her father constantly away and overseas. She watched her mother growing up, pine for her father and decides that when she is older she will never date a man that lives that lifestyle.

Enter Bobby. Nina meets Bobby in a bar one night and they end up going back to her place for a night of steamy hot passion.
Bobby is a marine however and goes against Nina's rules so they end up agreeing to meeting up whenever Bobby is on leave for casual, no-strings sex.

Three years later Bobby is back. Nina cannot wait to see him but is shocked when he declares he wants to try dating *shock* Just to note hear if a man like Bobby tried to take me on a date after three years of great sex there wouldn't be a doubt in my mind when i screamed YESSSSS!!!!

Nina has other thoughts however.
Great short read. Highly recommend this book to others and Amazon is currently offering it on its free list.

I was thoroughly disappointed. This was a Netgalley read for me. It had caught my eye while I was perusing through new titles. I was anxious to check it out, but I quickly found this was not the whirl wind romance I had anticipated. Steamy and hot at moments, yes, but that was about where it ended. The story was not one that would stand alone, and be noticed. I must have a story to die for, and this just did not supply it for me. This did prove to be an easy going read and vaguely short, but if you are looking for something that you will remember. Something that will take your breath away, and leaving you demanding more. This is not it. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer JO~

I've been eyeballing this book for a few weeks but was kinda iffy on buying it. I finally gave in. It was a pretty good book. Not exactly as awesome as I was hoping for. Bobby is just delish! Yummy! And Nina - well I've never had to experience the military lifestyle but I can totally understand her want to never be involved with a military man. But you can tell they were meant to be and I'm so glad they got their happily ever after!

3.5; I actually really liked this book, although there might have been a smidge too much inner dialogue. And I get frustrated with the hero or the heroine not listening to what the other is saying. Well written.

I found myself skimming the pages. It took a page of description for what each person thought the other looked like.... too much. I liked the idea of the story but it was just too much. I found myself sleepy every time I picked it up to read.

Slow story line that drags out. I read the first few chapters but then couldn't take any more. It was so boring it was painful, its so predictable. Not a literary masterpiece by a long shot. The sex scenes just went on and on and on and...... for ever.

This is a typical HEA romance with a a generous dose of heat added. A good story, that I thoroughly enjoyed from front to back. More storyline than character development, but a satisfying read.

Eh this was ok but not one I'd recommend. The story was different enough but never got me invested. Some steamy scenes but nothing swoon-worthy.
