The Good Stuff
•The spiral binding of this is outstanding and oh so practical. Easy to lay open and flat so that you can easily consult your recipe without damaging or getting cookie dough all over the book (Quirk has the most practical cookbooks)
•As usual the wife likes to comment on the index and this one she says is very well detailed and organized -- a virtual librarians dream (chocolate & organized stuff)
•Recipes are easy to follow and use ingredients that are readily available
•The sheer amount of recipes that you can use cookie dough for really is amazing
•We shared all the items we made with mine and Jen's work as well as some of her nerdy book friends/publishers (says she even gave some to the guy that wrote that book Shit my Dad Says)
•Creative use of cookie dough for all sorts of occasions - even breakfast
•Plenty of quick tips and suggestions
•Has a nice cute introduction
•Practical in terms that it explains the ingredients, the equipment, etc before you even get to the recipes
•Every recipe has at least one picture - which makes it more appetizing
•Even some unique wrapping ideas for the treats if you want to pass them along (which unfortunately the wife is ALWAYS doing -- she never leaves any of them home for us boys)

I love cooking, I love baking. I also love cookbooks. I don’t necessarily cook anything in the cookbooks, but I do love them. I like to read them before bed. I’ll read them in a long bath (not that I get many of them). I take them to the doctor with me. I love to look at them at the book store. I prefer the ones with pictures (I’m a lot like my nine year old that way) because it makes the food come to life. I also read them. Not just skim them, but read the ingredients, the directions, the introductions and the hints. I pick up a lot of techniques that way. I also live on a budget. I don’t get to buy the number of cook books that I’d like to. Thank God that there is a library near me.
“The Cookie Dough Lover’s Cookbook: Cookies, Cakes, Candies, and More”, by Lindsay Landis, was a book I picked up off the shelf at the library. I misread the title at first, I thought it was a cookie book. I was in a rush. The library runs a program for the older kids Tuesday nights and they were there and I only had like five minutes to get books before they would notice that I was gone and would come looking for me covered in glue (that’s not the only thing they get into at the library, last week they were pulling apart baby diapers to see how much water the absorbing parts held).
That being said, I really did enjoy reading this book. I can’t tell you if the recipes are actually any good, but from the amount of reading of cook books I do I can tell you that they are at least very soundly written. And they LOOK good. I loved the pictures. And I have eaten at least one of these recipes unknowingly. My sister (she’s 20 now, so I don’t know that I can call her my “little” sister any more) has made the chocolate chip cookie dough truffles for Christmas the past two years in a row. I love them. And they don’t last for more than an hour once I tell my children they can eat them.
So, as far as cookbooks go, I would say this is a good one to read. The pictures are good, the recipes are interesting to read, the short snippets that the author puts at the beginning of each of them are good hooks to the recipes and the hints are nice and helpful. It’s not a deep or moving cook book (believe it or not I have read them) but it’s a desert book, so that is to be expected. Plus, if you just read the recipes and don’t make them, then you don’t have to worry about the calories from all that cookie dough!

I borrowed this from the library thinking this was a cookie lover's cookbook, I missed the "dough" part.. none of these recipes really appealed to me but nice layout and photos

From Lilac Wolf and Stuff
This is me. I probably eat about 2 cookies worth of dough before it's all said and done. And then I don't want the cookies. lol So when Quirk sent me this cookbook, I was over the moon!
So you know I got busy...well once I remembered to pick up the stuff. I didn't want just chocolate chips, I wanted something that was just for me. I bought toffee bits and mini chocolate chips (these are what Lindsay recommends for the chocolate chip cookie dough). At the beginning of the book she has the recipe for the chocolate chip cookie dough and after that she has all the cool things you can do with it.
I thought it was going to be a huge batch, but really it probably would have made about a dozen of these little balls. I used my trusty ice cream scoop that I use when I bake cookies. The boys enjoyed it as much as I did, although we all thought it was too sweet. So next time I will use less sugar.
I also want to try the edible peanut butter cookie dough. And yes, with the peanut butter dough she has a recipe for Peanut Butter cups. YUM! Now the minute I find chocolate worth melting, I will be trying these! And there are candies that I would describe as a kind of truffle...just balling up the dough and pouring chocolate over it.
On the cover there are conversion charts. She offers suggestions on equipment and ingredients. Her introduction is well written, so you get to know the author before you jump into her recipes. And her recipes are pleasing to the eye and easy to follow. On the page with the chocolate chip cookie dough she has some variations including how to go vegan and gluten-free. Oh wow - Oatmeal Raisin...wonder if CW would eat it.
Do I recommend this cookbook? Yes, it's fun for grownups like me who enjoy cookie dough. It would also easily be something you can do with your kids, the recipes are simple and relatively little cooking is involved.

If you're thinking that her name is familiar, it's probably because Lindsay is the blogger of Love and Olive Oil. She's come up with the perfect, egg-free cookie dough that tastes great and is easy to make. We were scratching our heads and wondering how a whole cookbook could possibly feature cookie dough, we were pleasantly surprised. The book features treats such as Cooke Dough Crème Brûlée, Cookie Dough Whoope Pies, Malted Cookie Dough Milkshakes, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream, Deep-Fried Cookie Dough Fritters, Cookie Dough Dessert Pizza, and Cookie Dough-Stuffed Dark Chocolate Cupcakes. Oh there's more, but you're probably drooling already. We love the design of the book and Lindsay's photography knocks it out of the park. We're also quite excited to learn that Lindsay's next book, Breakfast For Dinner, will be out next year!

I've never reviewed a cookbook here before, and I'm totally not sure of the criteria and all that so I'm winging it.
What I enjoyed: The spiral binding; the quirkiness of the recipes; the concise instructions; and the beautiful photos of each item.
What I found lacking: I would have loved more recipes.
Why I'm holding back one star: I haven't made or eaten anything but the basic cookie dough. After I get up enough courage to make the Brown Sugar Cookie Dough-Layer Cake, I'll come back and add the fifth star.
That is if I end up liking the cake.
KIDDING.
Buy this book if you're like me and utterly obsessed with eating cookie dough because it's cookie dougherrific.

I didn't actually get to make any of these recipes before I had to return the book to the library, but I can't wait to try adding the cookie dough to our ice cream and making the cookie dough truffles. The recipes seemed detailed and easy to follow, with tips in the sidebar for how to find rare ingredients or substitute for special equipment. Photos are plentiful and make every recipe look decadently delicious. I could have done without the breakfast section, though.

Basically, egg free cookie dough intergrated into various dessert recipes. The wire binding is perfect for a cookbook. The clear photographs, simple directions and colorful, easy to read type make this book fun to peruse. Honestly, though, I don't know if I'd actually make anything in this book, just reading it made my waist expand and my blood sugar soar. I love the books design though, definitely reader and kitchen friendly!

This book is a must for anyone who likes cookie dough! The recipes are amazing, you will have trouble picking which ones to do first. They are clearly marked and easy to follow recipes which picture aids for some of the recipes. This is definately one I would go to time and time again when I have friends coming over.

I have mixed feelings about this one. On the one hand, the brownies are one of the best things we have ever eaten. Seriously. They made me want to sing. On the other hand, I will never, ever make cookie dough marshmallows. The basic recipe is a good one though, and I am not sorry to have this on my bookshelf. Just know that there really are some limits to the use of cookie dough. At least imho.

This book has some awesome recipes. The cookie dough recipes are egg free so they are safe to eat. Cookie dough truffles, cookie dough suffed dark chocolate cupcakes with cookie dough frosting, cookie dough ice cream, cookie dough rice krispy treats and cookie dough smores are definite recipe keepers. Every recipe includes a picture.

Found this on special via Amazon's Daily Deals. Glad I picked it up - best $2.99 I've spent in a while. Lots of recipes that fall anywhere between very easy to mildly involved, nothing too overly difficult and everything looks delicious. And I bought it just in time for Christmas baking season.

I love cookie dough, I love cookbooks, and I really enjoyed this cookbook. There is a wide variety of recipes (unbaked, cakes, cookies, squares, fudge, etc.). If you love cookie dough (and who doesn't?), you will enjoy this book.

I love this book. It's a definite must for anyone who loves to eat cookie dough and has the voice in the back of his or her head saying, "You might get salmonella!" No salmonella found in these egg-free recipes! I've already made quite a few recipes, and all of them are great.

Bought this for my son's girlfriend - but had to read it prior to giving it to her :) Great idea - make cookie dough without the eggs so it is safe to eat, then create recipes to use it in (not cookies, though, as it's not meant to be baked).
