The Slave Factory by I. M. Telling

Rate this book
A young woman sat inside a restaurant bar with a man more than twice her age. Neither of them held the slightest concern over the difference between their ages. Captivated by what the older man had been telling her, she was also unaware of the purposes of the two men that sat at a table twenty-five feet away. This is how The Slave Factory begins. It is the story of a woman's journey of self-discovery as she and an eclectic group of fellow students undergo six-months of focused and brutal reshaping, guided by a Master of the arts of sex, bondage, dicipline, and submission within the walls of a place known only as The Academy. Each student spent years under the watchful eye of the secret company that traced it's origins to ancient history and beyond. Only the best were selected for their final review, only the best of those were selected to be trained and sold as slaves to the wealthy and the powerful. This story contains scenes involving explicit sexual contact and numerous depictions of BDSM activities. Recommended for Adults eighteen of over.

It occurred to him that perhaps, he might be a better writer of erotic fiction if he targeted his craft towards one person at a time, making love to one reader at a time. [ From I. M. Telling's story Simone and the Writer ]

"I am convinced that the mind is the most powerful sex organ in the body. I hope my stories generate stirrings within the reader, by being somewhat specific with the x-rated portions. Yet I mostly want my readers to make a journey of their own as they follow the changes happening inside the minds of my characters, who I consider to be my friends. I never judge nor fault my characters, as it is their journey and not mine." I. M Telling

Mr. Telling states "I prefer to evolve the characters within my tales, making their journey from where they start to where they reach by the last page as the reason for the story."

I.M. Telling lives in the southern United States, on the coast and has been a non-fiction writer for some time. He has always wanted to write erotica and is finally making that dream a reality. His writing includes everything from highly explicit erotica featuring interracial relationships, swinging, and cuckold tales to very sensual stories of bondage and examining the dynamics of open marriage. His wrting has also started to extend into other genres including adventure, humor, and stories with extreme violence.

Many of his writings take a tongue-in-cheek approach to the subject matter, often poking fun at stereotypes and purposely going over-the-top with subtle and dark humor, he often includes a twist ending.

For those without a passing understanding of the BDSM world, the idea of slavery, especially sexual slavery, is repellant. It is a fascinating relationship dynamic, built on trust, communication, but most of all consent. Taking a page from Indecent Proposal, this novel asks the questions: Would you consent to be a slave for millions of dollars? Do you have a price? I.M. Tellings The Slave Factory ponders these questions and delves into the motivations of those who choose to serve, those who train, and those who seek to be Masters.
The sordid, blood-soaked history of slavery, of forced subjugation, is well-documented. What is discussed in this book is a far-cry from the abomination of forced slavery. To willingly give of one’s body is an act of submission, an agreement between consenting adults that serves as one of the closest relationships found in the BDSM community. Telling introduces his audience to Per il piacere del Maestro, an international organization that connects wealthy people with those who have a willingness to serve for a price. The name of the group roughly translates to “For the Master’s pleasure”.

Book Review
The Slave Factory by I.M. Telling

Synopsis
I purchased The Slave Factory a week ago, and believe it or not I never even bothered to read the book description. I got the book when a little Twitter tweeted me... to let me know that the new book was out. Of course that meant for me to go check it out. Mind you, it had been a while since I'd read one of Telling's books...but let me tell you, was I ever glad I did! Six pages into the book I had to stop, go back, and re-read it from the beginning-thinking that I had missed something. Then I blinked and before you knew it, I was on chapter six. My initial intent was not to read, but take a peak, start my Sunday dinner and get ready for the NBA playoffs. But that didn't happen. I kept right on reading. It was a struggle for me to put it down.
The story centers on a mild mannered and very inquisitive Tonya Wilson who suddenly decides marriage just isn't her cup of tea and that she'd rather indulge in pacifying an insatiable appetite than be tied down from 9 to 5. Then there's Jim & Sheila, a couple which lives on the edge, the two of them together they're almost impossible to satiate. Next, there's Jerome his appetite is voracious and he's just downright greedy. Annie has a ravenous desire but she has it all under control...And Bruce, well he's just an average guy with a fetish for fun, who's also proud to be gay. Put all six of these little pretties together and all that's missing is a little BDSM. All they need now is a little Social Recognition. I love a book that has numbered pages. And this is an ideal book to get introduced to the world of BDSM. And like a reviewer before me put it... "Once you get started it's a real page turner", you'll be close to the middle and trotting like Secretariat or Seattle Slew to reach the finish line, or rather, then end of the book.

My Rating Scale
1 star - for interest peak...now you've got me...but can you keep me
2 stars - author tells a story that flows...it's either good or not so good
3 stars - author makes you ask questions, questions and more questions...but doesn't stop
4 stars - story has the element of surprise or suspense...
5 stars - now what... a conclusions is reached or anticipation follows

Review
Telling writes the characters in a way that makes you wonder... (is he for real...or, are the characters really made up); This could very well be the boy or girl next door , with a side order of enhanced sexual elements, written in extraordinary ways. I really enjoyed reading about them and the book. Without giving anything away, there are a few twists here and there but you'll find those inside the book. And that tattoo, let's just say it's on the cover for a reason. I was surprised quite a few times during my read, but that just made the intensity of reading that much fun. And the ending, I can honestly say I love a good whammy, I definitely didn't see that coming. Come to think of it, I didn't see that times 3...yeah, it was just that good!

When it comes to storytelling, this is not a first for Telling. He's definitely been around the block a few times. But I must admit he certainly knocked this one out of the park. Yeah, so he left me hanging...he'll do the same to you. He has a tendency to make you laugh as he provides amusement to this entertaining piece, which just goes to show... by the way the story ended, he knew by then that he needed a Part II. I can't wait to hear/read if he can actually top this.
I hope we as readers get to travel more in part two. Either way, I've got my Amazon money ready, and I'll only be 1-Click away!
If you like The Slave Factory, and I'm pretty sure that you will, you'll also like reading some of his earlier work; Or, for a variety and/or similar reads try reading works by: Leah Michaels, S. Renea Bates, Curtis Alcutt, Rayna Stone, Michelle Bellon, JC Emery, Morgan Ashbury, Kristin Nelson, Malia Mallory, Kendra Egert, Alexia Haynes, or Robert India.

I really liked this story, and I can't wait for the sequel to come out.

This is the second thing I've read by this writer. The first was a completely comedic story that caught me off guard because I was expecting something steamier. Then I came to this story knowing that it was gonna be funny, and it was sooo hot. OMG, the sex scenes... really blew me away.

Ok, let me back up. One thing that I liked that most BDSM stories don't have is a real connect between the different characters and not JUST between a particular sub and his/her dom. And that different aspects of sexuality come to light. All that was refreshing, and it kinda made me wonder if some of this might actually be true???

That just makes it even hotter... to know that this came from the mind of a real Dom and not some writer making it all up...

Just one little, tiny warning... the book starts off slow, letting you know the characters. I'm glad I bought it without reading the sample because I might have passed, and then I would have missed out on something amazing. So the first few chapters are a slow build and then, BAM! It's full steam ahead and good luck catching your breath. So if you're expecting instant action from page 1, just hang in there. It's really worth it.

The Slave Factory is the best BDSM novel I have read. I.M. Telling takes Tonya and five other students through a life changing experience as they are selected and attend The Academy for Per il piacere del Maestro (for the Masters pleasure). After completing the six-month course the Slave students are auctioned to the highest bidder for a year of service. The five students bond and learn limits far beyond any they could have imagined in a safe, controlled environment as they learn to love to submit to the Masters and Mistresses charged with the training for the Company. This is BDSM at its best!

Wow, did I learn a lot from this one and found it a very interesting story with the abundance of knowledge of the BDSM lifestyle. The author wrote a story with interesting characters and in the telling, explained what is involved with commitment and the love exchanged by the characters. I also enjoyed the humor of the story that made the characters seem like real people, not just characters on the page of my friend's kindle. I really enjoyed this one and hope you will too.

Liked the idea of the story. I hate to say anything negative, but the writing needs some work.

was it for money, sex or fullment of an unexplored need? A well-presented story about several people and a couple each from various stages in their in life seeking an opportunity to exchange a year of servitude for a large payout upon completion. This is a story about each of them as they pass selection and go to a private location for six months to be trained in all manners of kink and sexuality in preparation to being auctioned to the highest bidder for a one-year contract. The story line was great and the time in the “factory well told including some drama here and there. Unlike other tales of this style there was a twist in the end that enable the story to go on in other than expected sequels. I am looking forward to reading or listening to the next in this series.

This was an interesting read with a great deal of character and world building for a BDSM training school. Definitely worth checking out.

The Slave Factory by I.M.Telling

3 Stars

Quite an unusual story about a group of people who are watched for a number of years and once they seem to fit the bill they are invited for an interview, and ultimately to train to become sex slaves sold to the highest bidder at auction. The group we follow are quite varied, male, female, gay, straight, and even a couple are amongst them. Once in training they are taught everything from personal hygiene to table etiquette along side very specific fetish techniques and BDSM.

Personally I found the first 25-30% really slow going, not that much happened and I found it difficult to keep myself engaged in the story. It was all about meeting the people and setting the scene, an important part of the story yes, but too long winded and not written in a very entertaining way. As the story progressed and the group slipped into their training I still found it difficult to connect with the characters. The whole book was sadly lacking in emotion and feeling, which for me as a reader is extremely important.

I was put off by the numerous typos and missing or misused words as well as the very mechanical way the sex acts were written. Obviously the writer has knowledge of the BDSM scene but I felt the technical way it was written made the book feel more like a manual and less like a novel. I really wanted, well needed more passion to allow me to fall into this world and it just didn’t happen for me.
