My only problem with this story was that it was too short. It was cute and sweet and touches a point about our pre conceived notions, our perceptions of others which may or may not be true. Lovely story, that can be read in a few minutes.

A cute little "ugly duckling" type short story about a plus size (?) woman and her "Hunk-o-Spunk" neighbor. I question the plus size designation here, because I can't help but think from the description given of her that Tess exaggerates how "fat" she is by comparing herself to the near-anorexic exercise over-achievers like the skinny little "Miss Stride-it-Out" that does her power walking past Tess's house quite frequently. Perhaps I'm misreading it, however, and the author intended her to be larger than it sounds.

As the title indicates, this story is largely about the assumptions people make about themselves and others simply based on looks. A handsome man couldn't possibly be interested in a not-skinny woman according to the infamous "they", and Tess isn't immune to falling into that stereotypical-thinking trap. There's not much heat here aside from a few serious lip-locks, but I think the story is more realistic for that. Normal people rarely jump each others' bones at the drop of a hat just cause circumstances threw them together (literally in this case). It's easy to see this story playing out in real life (including the escape artist cat), something which can't always be said of romance stories, and that adds to it's charm.

I read this book last year and I think I forgot to review it. Haha.

Anyway, this book is short, like total short. Because that's the point, this book is for evening tea reading. Very cute. The story's about young plus-sized girl having a crush to her neighbor. After seeing numerous pretty girls coming and going around him, she's give up. But what's with his attention to her?

See? Very sweet book with sweet words. Very Miss Verdenius-y. If you want to read short story with cute plot, read this one. Seriously.

Cute short story. About 45 pgs. Tess is a heavy set girl who drools over her hunky neighbor. She has seen only skinny girls come out of his house. One day he notices her in her backyard calling her call. He asks her on a date. She thinks he is just making a joke, so she turns him down. Later finds out that the girls are his sisters and he does like her. Good story.

Very short story, entertaining, very quick read, no real plot or story but shows potential for future stories. Interesting concept and had it been the first thing I every read by Angela Verdenius I would have picked up other books... so it does what it's intended to do!

A cute quick read with a buff gorgeous hero and a curvy heroine who has been hurt before and believes that hero would not want her.

I love stories about sexy-sometimes-unreachable-hunks and sweet-hurt-big-heroines...they are so nice!! Loved this short story!!!

way too short. This is really a scene or a summary that follows a pattern. No sex really just kissing. Which is good since its so short!

A very short story. Ideal when you have a few minutes to spare. Loved it like I love all books by Angela Verdenius.
