Sentenced to spend the rest of his three remaining lifetimes in Nil, Amon Kalins is freed with the help of his Sidhe servant, Gethen, but now he must accept his life is never to be his again as the Council won't rest until he's safely back imprisoned within Nil's cold walls. Broken and nearly dead from his time in prison, Amon is saved by an Aeveren healer named Althea Forester. As a healer, Thea has served her people for forty-five lifetimes, never having a destined one and always knowing each lifetime would ultimately end with her alone. But destiny hasn't forgotten her.
Drawn to the seductive Amon, Thea quickly becomes a pawn the Council uses to trap him. Taken prisoner by the sadistic leader of the rebel group, the Soren, Thea must survive the vicious world of the people hell-bent on taking her destined one away forever, and Amon must risk everything dear to him to free her from those who would sacrifice her to claim the bigger prize and return him to Nil.
BRIEF SUMMARY Amon has lived 47 lifetimes and is a powerful Aeveren. He’s been sentenced to spend three lifetimes in Nil, a prison overseen by the Council. Amon has escaped and needs a healer. With the help of Thea, an Aeveren healer, whom Amon is strongly attracted, she will be face with danger for aiding Amon. He has to fight to save her as well as himself.
THOUGHTS Destiny Redeem was another wonderful and detailed story telling. The author has a very special way of incorporating more than romance to her stories. She gives you characters that you either love, or love to hate with an interesting twist. Before reading Destiny Redeem, I would advise the reader to read Stolen Destiny first. I think this book would be able to stand alone, but reading Stolen Destiny first would allow you to have a better experience while reading Destiny Redeem. You are able to get a better understanding of the Aeveren culture and the history of Amon. Reading the second book, the author knows how to make a bad boy good. Amon was a complete turnaround from the previous book. He was more vulnerable and a pleasure to read. Thea's opening scene was memorable; you can’t come between a man and his sports, no matter what you do. As an Aeveren healer, she has lived 45 lifetimes without finding her destine one. Her chemistry with Amon was good and they both needed each other. The plot of the story that involves Thea's safety and Amon being an escape prisoner was exciting to read, as there is always a twist.
We were able to read nice supporting characters, mainly Grethen and Markku. They were definitely an interesting read. For me personally, the more I read about Markku the more appealing he became. I would love to see a story based around his character.
Gabrielle has written a story with lots of romance and action. I love the depth Gabrielle takes you into the Aeveren’s culture and each character. If you’ve read Stolen Destiny I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in how Amon finds his mate and how he gets to keep her.
I liked all the characters, they all seem to flow together in the story. You get some great emotions out of them all. This could be a standalone but if you haven’t read Stolen Destiny, I suggest you do that first because you really need to see where Amon came from before you read about him.
This is not your typical paranormal storyline, so if you want something a bit different, please try this.
I highly recommend this author and her books they are wonderful romance stories.
Gabrielle Bisset you have woven a brilliant story that has changed my heart and attitude toward a criminally insane character. Wow! You took a selfish criminal character “Amon” from your first book that was put in Nil (Prison) for his abuse of time-travel power and manipulating situations for his own satisfaction and turn him into a hero and a renewed, humble, loving, giving, and sexy as hell man. I loved how you turned the perspectives around and made his actions somewhat justifiable as he learned from his mistakes and finally shows regret for his actions. Beautifully Done!
The writing was superb, creative, and visually addicting as the scenes came alive on the first page and I learned more about the creative worldly realms that co-exist. I went from not knowing what to think about this criminal Amon from the first book who I had in my mind I did not care for too much to feeling sadness for the man and then rooting him on throughout the whole story as he showed a different side of himself.
The characters connected beautifully and I thought Thea (Aeveren Healer) and Amon (Aeveren) were perfect for each other. Their erotic love scenes were perfect and so Hot! Your description for Amon’s body is one that had my mouth drooling every time it got to him taking his clothes off – LOL.
This story was so full of action besides all the drama and kept my mind entertained throughout the whole book. I literally couldn’t put the book down and was glued to every sentence as I anticipated what was going to happen next. I loved the ending and knew it was coming to an end but for some reason I looked up for a second and thought to myself “Man, I could really keep reading this story forever”. I am definitely addicted to this series and can hardly wait to see who the author will write about next.
Amon Kalins is one of the most powerful Aeveren alive. Unfortunately he has abused those powers and the people around him for many of his lifetimes. Finally the Council had caught up to him and sentenced him to live out his remaining three lifetimes in the Aeveren prison Nil. Then, one day, his Sidhe servant, Gethen, broke him out of the hell hole. Beaten to a pulp, Amon was nearly dead from his time in the prison but Gethen was determined to help his master. He was going to need the help of a healer if Amon was to get better.
Thea Forester had spent her 45 lifetimes serving her people as a healer. Though Thea longed for one of her own, rarely were healers blessed with a destined one. When she first met Amon she was afraid of him, afraid of his size, afraid of what the well known criminal would do to her. Soon though, she found herself attracted to him. Had she at last found the one who was destined to be hers?
Gabrielle Bisset does some excellent world building in this book! Though it took me a second to catch on, I loved it! You see, we aren't alone on Earth. There are tons of other humanoid creatures here with us. Many have magical powers. Among these creatures are the Aeveren. The Aeveren race lives 50 lifetimes and are awarded "destined ones" as mates. In each lifetime the couples are supposed to find each other so they can live out that lifetime together. Each lifetime can be different and can be either boring or exciting. I just loved all the tiny little details that Gabrielle uses for her world. They were fantastic!
The romance between between Amon and Thea was easy to believe. The sexual tension between them made my heart ache. Well, actually it made my heart ache for Thea. She just knew that Amon was her destined one but he denied it, thinking she was mistaken. Poor Thea, waiting all those years for her man only to be shot down.
The characters in Destiny Redeemed were wonderful and easily believable. The secondary characters filled out the storyline and completed it nicely. Gethen's loyalty impressed me and I want to read more about him even if it's not possible. It sounds silly but I was full of excitement as I was reading this. It kept my attention and I quickly ate it up!
Destiny Redeemed is the second book of Gabrielle Bisset's that I've read. While I enjoyed the first one, Vampire Dreams, this book was much better! I can't wait to see what Gabrielle has in store for us next!
Side note...
I absolutely love pop culture references in a book. This one had me singing "I Heard it through a Grapevine" for hours.
Amon Kalins is freed from Nil, a prison for the Averean race, a race of people who have 50 lifetimes and keep their memories when reborn. Amon is undoubtedly one of the bad guys, he’s done some undoubtedly bad things in his lifetimes – but being in Nil has changed him, and as he’s broken out by his servant Gethen he is broken from his last beating and in need of a Healer.
Thea has just broken up with her boyfriend when a man appears on her door step, yanks her to him and teleports, she’s taken to the bed side of a beaten man and threatened with death if she doesn’t heal him. Healing the man drains her and before she knows she’s being held captive, but that is not the worst part, she learns his name and realizes she gone against the Council’s orders to not aid Amon, a fugitive!
What neither one of them expected was to feel more for each other, and what truly surprised them was that they are meant to be together as Destined Ones. But with past a like Amon’s and the innate goodness of Thea it just might prove impossible to have a Future.
“She’d been warned, as all other Aeveren healers had, not to help him in any way. She hadn’t had a choice, though. His wretched man had kidnapped her from her home and when she saw him suffering before her, nature had taken over. Healing him had never been a choice but a need. “Thea, don’t be afraid. I told you I wouldn’t let any harm come to you, and I won’t. You’re safe as long as you’re with me.” The tone of his deep voice was softer now, but it didn’t make her feel any better. She remained fearful, her fingers tightly gripping the drawer handle behind her. “You’re Amon Kalins...” she squeaked out as her voice failed her. The hard surface of the dresser pressed against her back when she attempted to take another step back away from him. “Yes.” “The escaped prisoner from Nil.” “Yes.” Thea’s body relaxed almost against her will. Each affirmation should have made her fear for her safety all the more, but it didn’t. Something in his voice soothed her.”
I liked the story, the idea of having Destined Ones, like a hyped up version of Soul Mates, and being human in deciding if they want to be together or not (more often than not the couple fits, but there are exceptions). Added with Amon’s sordid past and his treatment of women before Thea causes friction so the story has its hindrances to the romance, like a good story should!
Amon I liked from the very beginning, even though his past isn’t women friendly, but he seems to realize he’d done wrong and truly feels sorry and afraid what his past actions will cause to his future with Thea who he loves. Though infidelity is something a lot of women can’t forgive, so Amon’s character is treading the water here a little.
Thea I liked a lot in the beginning, she’s resourceful and kind but when she finally gets a Destined One all her sense seems to leave the building and it takes sometime before she realizes it herself. You really can lose yourself in love, and finding your strength again is truly mandatory.
This book is definitely a romance, there are really steamy parts where Amon is testing wither she wants him or not, or enjoying her when she’s his, and so this story gets thumbs-up for the bedroom scenes!
This is for you if you want your romances to have obstacles in front of the couple and their Happily-Ever-After. You might want to read the first book in the series first, Stolen Destiny to be on top of Amon’s past and to learn more about the world.
I adored Destiny Redeemed—the second installment in Gabrielle Bisset’s Destined Ones series—falling in love with the characters was effortless in this great paced book. I found myself now rooting for Amon Kalins whereas I wanted to strangle him in book #1, Stolen Destiny!
Jump on board in this journey of an Aeveren named Amon Kalins whose despicable acts in the past have landed him in Nil, a prison, where he is doomed to live out a meager existence for his remaining three lifetimes. With the determination of his faithful friends—Gethen and Markku—he is able to escape Nil but not without the need of a healer for his race. Even though Thea Forester was abducted to heal Amon Kalin’s injuries, on first meeting him she did what she has spent lifetimes doing—she begins to heal him—without the knowledge of the order put out by the Council denying him such treatment from all Aeveren healers. It doesn’t take long for them to realize they are destined for each other, but how can this possibly work with a ruthless bounty hunter hot on their trail? Double-crossing actions from a member of the Council and the Soren leader, one-time ally turned foe, don’t make things any easier. Will Thea finally have what she has wanted throughout all her lifetimes, what she thought impossible due to the nature of her gift of healing, one destined to be hers? Will Amon’s past no longer prevent him from having another destined for him? Will they be able to jump hurdles, avoid roadblocks and escape the bloodhounds in relentless pursuit?
Ms. Bisset was cleverly able to turn me from an Amon-hater to an Amon-lover!

I’ll start by saying that I love everything about the Averen! They’re a very interesting race that you can’t get enough of. If you’ve read the first book of this series you’ll be surprised to see a very different Amon. He spent some time in Nil, the Averen’s jail, and comes out of there weak and in need of a healer to help him get his powers back. I didn’t like this version of Amon more than the old one, but I appreciate his change because that would be the only way he could have had a chance with Thea. Now let’s talk about her, she was my favorite character in this book and I loved how weak she appears for those who don’t know her and the contrast between the main couple. I couldn’t bare to see her heart broken! I really enjoyed the second cast of characters aswell.
This wasn’t my favorite book by Gabrielle Bisset, I didn’t enjoy very much the path the author chose to develop the plot. The pacing wasn’t fluid at times and some pieces of the dialogue could be better too. The characters are terrific and the world-building is greatly done, I recommend this book if you want to follow up and read Amon’s story, it’s totally worth the waiting.
This book was beyond my expectations and deserves at least a 7. This is the story I was yearning for when I first met Amon Kalins in Stolen Destiny. The story that unfolded in this book is one that I absolutely adored and is by far on the top of my favorites list.
Gabrielle Bisset is an amazing author, and definitely one of my favorites. She can pull you in with the way she tells a story and you can't help but feel like you are there. Her descriptions of the characters and places in the book allows you to fall in love every time.
This book will pull you in from the very beginning and you will find it impossible to put down. I definitely recommend this series and I know you will love it as much as I did. :)
Absolutely wonderful author. Gabrielle has a terrific talent for writing and bringing you right into her stories. Although the Hero in this book did some evil things in his past lives and even some in his present life, my heart went out to him and I felt so sad for him. I believe that all he was looking for and needed was the love of good woman to help straighten him out.
I highly recommend ALL of Gabrielle's books to everyone - especially "Sons of Navarus" series... they are a 'must read'
The usually quiet Main Street of Cochecton, New York hummed with the excited squeals of
miniature devils, witches, and ghosts along with a variety of cartoon and movie characters.
Teaser:
Lifting her head, she wiped her tears from her face. “Why don’t you want me as your destined
one?”
A lump formed in his throat at the sound of the sadness in her voice. There was nothing he’d
like more in this world than to have Thea for his. But that couldn’t be.
“It’s not a choice, Thea. It’s just not possible.”
“Why?”
He looked into the beautiful eyes of the one who’d already given him so much kindness and
hated what he had to say.
“Thea, I already have a destined one.”
Amon saw the shock register on her face. She had been so kind to him, and he hated having to
say those words, more than she could ever know. Obviously embarrassed, she dropped her eyes and
climbed off him, saying nothing.
Plot:
Sometimes there are stories that whisk you away to far off places. The characters demanding your attention, their lives flawed yet compelling enough to make you care whether or not they will get a second chance at happiness. Destiny Redeemed was the epitome of second chances as the title hints at. Forgiveness, making amends and healing the underlying emotions that layered the story with grit, making the book irresistible to me. The moment I began reading, I stepped into another world where time travel was possible by only a few select Aeveren, where healers are reverend and an unforgiving Council enforces Aeveren law.
Given that I read the first book in the Destined Ones series, I had no problem returning to to Ms. Bisset's world of sci-fi meets paranormal.
In this series we meet a people known as the Aeveren. A species that are reborn into this world to live a cycle of fifty lifetimes. They have different levels of powers and abilities that allow everything from mind reading to time travel and teleportation to healing with a simple touch. I must say that I find the Aeveren a unique approach to the paranormal genre. Their immortality is not as infinite, but more an extension on life for hundreds of years. Very intriguing. I do have to wonder though how it is that the destined Aeveren mates find one another once they have reincarnated into another lifetime.
The story begins a year after the first book's ending where Amon, a very powerful Aeveren, is sent to NIL, a prison for his kind. Within that year Amon suffers brutal attacks and left to fend for himself; no contact with people or a kind touch to be had. His past is grim and has lead him to this ending, where he believes-and prays- it will end in his death sooner rather than later. When he is unexpectedly saved by his Sidhe servant and friend, Gethen, Amon sees this chance as a new beginning for him, that is if he can outrun the Council's bounty hunter gunning for his head. The story picks up pace soon after as we meet the Aeveren healer, Althea. As she makes her entrance into the story I was quickly swept away in a whirlwind of passion, love and healing on multiple levels for both Amon and Althea as their connection grew into something more than just patient and healer. I'll also add that I don't think a hotter scene could have been shared by two people that weren't even in the say room! Scorcher is my word of choice on that! But I'll leave a little for you to discover on your own. Destiny Redeemed is just as exciting or even more so than the first book in this series. I loved how the mystery behind the sullied council member was unraveled along with how Amon handled the Soren- another colorful group for you to discover. Although the story was wrapped up beautifully I was sad to read the ending. I wanted more of this powerful and unique world and hope Ms. Bisset has future plans for this series!
Writing:
I've had the opportunity to see Ms. Bisset's writing abilities flourish and grow over the course of the past three releases she has had. She can weave a tale of passion and adventure while giving it the right touch of detail to bring her stories to life. The exact ingredients for a must -read author in my opinion!
Characters:
Althea is an Aeveren healer that has lived over forty of her fifty lifetimes alone and with no hopes of ever having her own Destined One. While her pain of being alone runs deep she doesn't allow it to rule her life. She is a strong willed and determined woman that is passionate about what and whom she cares about. Amon, once a manipulator of people and time for his own advantage no matter who he hurt, reached out to me from the very first book as a soul worth saving. He just needed the right incentive to want to make himself better. And that shove came in the form of one Aeveren healer. Together Amon and Althea work through their past issues to build a better future there is a cost. It was interesting to see if that cost would be to high for one or the other to pay. The ending will be a surprise and endeared me to both characters. I know I will carry their story with me for some time and when I am feeling ungrateful at any moment all I'll need to do is look back at this book and remember to cherish all that is given to me in this lifetime.
Last Thoughts:
This was one book next to impossible to put down! I love Ms. Bisset's twist on the paranormal genre and to anyone looking for that 'something special' ingredient in their next book, this has it! I want more Aeveren!
Installed from the first page. There's a little action but so much of its drowned in romance. The second Theater learns they're soul mates everything is forgiven. I couldn't make it all the way through.
As I've said many times on this blog, I support indie writers. In many ways, they're writing what the traditional and mainstream publishers aren't. When I find one I like, I read that author's work each time something new comes out. Gabrielle Bisset is one of those authors for me. I love how her stories are so full of interesting characters and dialogue, along with some great emotional tension and action. Destiny Redeemed continues that and excels in all these areas.
Here's the blurb to get started:
Taken prisoner by the sadistic leader of the rebel group, the Soren, Thea must survive the vicious world of the people hellbent on taking her destined one away forever, and Amon must risk everything dear to him to free her from those who would sacrifice her to claim the bigger prize and return him to Nil.
Sounds good, right? It is. Amon Kalins is a wonderfully charming and sensual character with as many bad traits as good. The word multifaceted comes to mind. The story begins with him in Aeveren prison and deservedly so. Already the reader knows he's a bad boy. However, he escapes, and then he meets Thea, who can only be described as like an angel. She's an Aeveren healer, someone who's supposed to take care of people, but she's been ordered to not help him. The problem is that her heart and their Aeveren biology get in the way and soon she finds herself caring for him and he her.
Sometimes love isn't enough though, and when those in power want Amon back in Nil, they take her to lure him to them. It's in those chapters when the two main characters are apart that the reader truly sees what each one is like. Amon will do whatever he must to bring her back to him safely, and Thea shows herself to be a very resilient and resourceful woman. As a reader, I like that. I don't want to read about smarmy females who can't handle themselves. I like my males Alpha, but I want their women to be strong too.
As this is a paranormal romance, I have to mention the sex. One word describes it. Hot! My Kindle Fire got all steamy during the sex scenes, and there are a good number of them surprisingly in a novel that has so much story outside the bedroom.
In addition to a wonderful romance between Amon and Thea, Bisset has written a terrific story with some very memorable secondary characters. Markku and Gethen are so interesting as Amon's friends, and as polar opposites, the interplay between them is often quite amusing. The bad guys in this story are definitely bad, but even their back stories are interesting. The result of all this is a really fantastic read that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who loves romance.
Well-written, Destiny Redeemed is a wonderful addition to Gabrielle Bisset's growing list of books. Some have mentioned that this book is the second in a series after Stolen Destiny, and while this may be partially true, it works well as a stand alone. One of my new favorites, Destiny Redeemed is a must read!
This is the second book in the Destined Ones Duology, and is the story of Amon Kalins and Althea Forester. Amon is in the prison Nil, because of the ways that he has abused his powers, time travel being one of those. Amon being a very powerful Aeveren, never considered that he would be locked away, for the rest of his three remaining lifetimes. His Sidhe servant, Gethen, cannot let that happen and he frees his master/friend. Near death from his time in Nil, Gethen seeks out an Aeveren healer, by the name of Thea. After forty-five lifetimes without a destined one, Thea cannot believe it when she finds herself drawn to Amon, and even more frustrating for her, is that he doesn't seem to want her. These two have a rough road ahead of them as they try to get Amon healed, keep him out of Nil, keep Thea safe, and carry through with Amons promise to Gethen. This is a paranormal romance with a bit of a twist or that is the way I would describe it. Amon and Thea are meant to be together, it is their fate, even if it did take them a while to find one another. The relationship between Amon and Gethen, can only be described as the best of friends, holding on and letting go. This one is a page turner for sure, I did not want to put it down. Great job Gabrielle Bisset!!
Creative and elaborate world was created in this book, however, I felt like more could have been elaborated on (especially for those who haven't read/weren't aware that this was a series).
I liked the characters, however, things seemed to be "too easy" for them. I supposed the author took that into account: for Amon being in Nil for a year gave him the time to reflect on his behavior and for Thea, 45 lifetimes without a destined one was enough for her to look past the baggage.
I felt the villain was a little too predictable and was able to correctly guess the relationship early in the book. The only twist was at the end and involved Thea.
I downloaded this free from amazon through their limited time deal and I do like the author's style. Overall good book; I don't think I'd read it again but I do want to read another one of her books.
Destiny Redeemed is the first novel that I have read by Gabrielle Bisset, but it won't be my last. I loved the main characters, Amon, Thea, Gethen, and Markuu, and I really felt connected to them though their dialogue. Each character had a very well developed back story, which effected their interactions with each other. The hero was sexy and confident, and the love scenes were both highly erotic and sensual at the same time. This was a hard book to put down, but I now eagerly move on to Gabrielle Bisset's other novel Stolen Destiny and her novellas. I'll report back on each of those as soon as I'm done. The blurb's about the stories sound fantasic though, so I'm excited.
A wonderful story of destined love and the fight to find and hold on to it. Amon Kalin's and Thea finally find each other after many lifetimes of waiting for thier "Destined" one but there are others who would love to stop that from happening. From the Council trying to imprison Amon and Thea not being allowed a Destined one due to the fact she is a Healer they have serious challenges to overcome. I loved this book, Gabrielle Bisset did it again with a great story line, adventure and the best love scenes I have ever seen!
This book was such an awesome read. I love every thing about it. The story was written very well. Easy to follow, hard to put down and a great plot. The characters were all amazing in their own way. I love the erotic scenes. Well written. A definite add to your tbr list. Recommended!
Gabrielle, This was so good! I liked how different it was from The Sons! I hope you write more to this story I love the characters they have so much to them. The deapth of the story is wonderful!-) But I also havent read anythign you write that I didnt LOVE!-) Thanks for the read!
